54 Retry

I was pretty satisfied with myself for knowing the real purpose of the training. But, I wanted to ask Rind another question - it was about someone.

That, someone, was Osiric.

The reason for that because of his precise control over his magic; it was something that way greater than mine - and also one of the reasons he was more powerful than us, though, his sword played a larger role.

"Rind, is Os fully adapted?" I asked as I shifted my focus from Osiric to Rind.

Rind answered, "Yeah, he is."

"Really?" I asked; I was a little surprised. I had expected to see him being mostly in control; but, I hadn't expected him to be completely adapted to it. "That's surprising. Then, why does he need to do this training?" I questioned him; after all, this training's purpose was to increase the adaptation rate.

"Well, for him, it's to increase his pitiful stats. He is like a magnet for curses and blessings - even though he has a named weapon, for fucks sake, he is still weak for being a name weapon wielder. You see boy, being an F-ranker adventure, while your highest stat is less than 250, isn't something normal. Soon enough, due to the lack of stats, he would start destroying his body due to the amount of energy his body would release. It's like making a cat handle an attack that can level an entire mountain range." Rind explained.

"Oh." I reacted.

In this world, people don't focus on a single stat for that reason. The flow is very indiscriminate. It isn't that hard to release an attack that surpasses your body's limit if you don't spread your stats out. That can also be the case with skills - though, it's quite rare. An in Osiric's case, it was his skill.

It was just like what Rind had said, "It's like making a cat handle an attack the can level an entire mountain range." It was a pretty scary thought, but I hadn't mind it a lot; since Osiric can control his flow with precision, that was way, way, way above average.

"Well, Kid, what are you going to do after this." Rind asked me - he was curious.

I looked at him and answered, "We are trying to go to the royal academy."

Rind looked at me with disbelief, "Really!"

"Yep, the king had said that if we became E-rankers before 6 months. We will be able to join the royal academy." I answered with a smug face.

"Well, that's very good! It should be more than possible for you kids to reach E-rank in six months - you guys are literally monsters. I haven't seen any grant saint classer get strong as fast as you. But, be careful in that academy. Even though the nobles of this country are pretty chill, that's not the case for others. I remember that there was a time where even an otherworlder was fatally injured by them." Rind said to me.

"What? Can those nobles really do that to us? I mean, I have read that we are naturally the strongest race in the world - which would make it very hard for them, and we also have the responsibility to fight the demon lord." I replied.

"Well, that's true. But you don't want to underestimate the entitlement of those bastards. I had heard that one bastard even tried to attack one of the teachers from the academy - well, you should know how that ended." Rind said.

"Yep, really, thank you. It seems I have to deal with some more assholes!" I cursed.

I knew that there would be at least some of my classmates joining the academy. I wasn't blind - in this case, deaf. The otherworlders were respected a lot; except us, we were called arsonists, and everyone was afraid of us; thankfully, the people, and the otherworlders, didn't know how we looked like - we were very lowkey, after all.

I knew Sam, John, and Serra's party were all G-rankers and were about to reach F-rank. I wasn't that surprised to find out we were the strongest; even, Rind said that our growth wasn't normal.

And I hated them - they were literally the living embodiment of the word 'douche.' And they were also good friends; and helped each other out. They were pretty violent, as well; I had heard that they had beaten the shit out of some poor kid that tried to talk back to them - pretty scary stuff.

'Isn't it weird that we, the most peaceful people in our class, are getting called FUCKING ARSONISTS.' well, we were called more - but I didn't want to think about them. It would be painful.

'Well, thinking about it, thinking isn't going to do anything about it.' I then admitted defeat.

"What more assholes?" Rind asked, "Right, my classmates, I mean the other otherworlders are also pretty much douches. Even back in our world, they weren't even good people, just douches and assholes." I replied - a little angry.

"Well... goo-" before he could 'good luck,' Osiric started to wake up.

'Here it is!' I then looked towards Osiric - focused.

"Ugh, wa-what happened?" Osiric said as he held his head, 'Goddamnit!' I was pretty bummed out about him not exploding to the sky. But I should've expected it.

Osiric's instincts and reflexes were very fast, way better than mine.

"Well then, lad, are you ready for a retry." Rind asked Osiric.

"Sure, after all, I only had 10 seconds remaining." Osiric answered, a little disappointed.

"Really? That's pretty good. I only lasted for 20 minutes." I replied to him.

"Yeah, I know, right? I was pretty shocked by it, as well. I was pretty scared. After all, my stats were pretty low. Thankfully, I got like 20 extra points in my resistance and strength. So, I could manage it." Osiric replied.

Hearing that, I was surprised. Getting 20 points, at this level, in only 30 minutes was a huge accomplishment. "Wow, that's cool!" I congratulated him.

"Well then, anyway, let's restart the training, shall we!"

We both turned towards Rind and nodded. We were ready to try it again - though Osiric was more enthusiastic about it than me.
