55 Rest

"Well then, do you understand? You should try to plan out your quests. Though that won't be happening for a month, right? You are doing a guard quest right now, after all." Rind finished explaining Osiric about adaptation and how we should stop just hammering quests down - though, that probably won't ever happen.

The biggest reason for our growth would probably be the first week, where we had just went ham and did a lot, I mean a fuck load, of subjugation quest. And we knew very well that we were never going to do that ever again.

"We should be fine, but thanks." Osiric happily said as he started getting ready, just like me.

"Well, it should be fine." Rind then looked at us and said, "Sorry, but if you aren't prepared, tough luck!"

And then, "Gyaaaa!" I grabbed my chest; it was the same with Osiric.

The reason for that was because our heart had just stopped, not just that, our lungs as well - to be honest, our entire blood flow had stopped for a moment. Our bodies were starting to get crushed due to the atmospheric pressure, as well.

I knew that this wasn't that fatal, after all, I had suffered from it previously as well – and it also had hurt way more previously.

'Yes!' I exclaimed inside; due to pain, I couldn't even open my mouth.

The pain only lasted a second, unlike last time - it had lasted about 5 seconds at that time. It was a huge improvement!

But, I still wasn't sure whether that I would be able to last 30 minutes, I knew for sure that Osiric could, but I didn't know about myself. After all, last time, I only lasted for 20 minutes – which was way worse than Osiric's 29 minutes.

I then turned towards Osiric, to see how he was. I saw that he was totally fine, and was still standing upright. 'Well, that's stat increase for you.' I thought to myself.

Osiric was fully adapted, so I wasn't surprised that with just a 20 points increase he was easily able to handle the gravity.

"Are you ok?" I asked him – a little curious, "Yeah, though, my heart still stopped for a split second." he replied.

Both of us were talking normally. So normally, in fact, a person wouldn't even realize that there were literally hundreds of tons of force pressing down on us.

"I was the same, though for me it lasted for a second. But, I am really scared about the middle." I said to him, "Yeah, at the middle you can't even stand up. It was especially bad at the end when I couldn't even move a single muscle." Osiric replied, nodding to himself.

Rind seeing us talking comfortably, arrogantly said, "Well, you lads are doing great, for now. Well, see ya later. Good luck!" He and Emma then disappeared, more accurately, they just teleported out of the world.

Seeing them disappear made the world feel a little colder, a lot colder than it already was. I mean it was white all the way through.

Plus, unlike the real world, there weren't a lot of auras being released. There also wasn't any mana, heck, even the flow was very low. So, I felt a sense of disconnect.

It was also the same feeling I had experienced when Rind had made us search on the 8th round, even though there were trees and stuff like that, we still felt disconnected from reality, it was as if the trees were real and not real at the same time.

It was truly a weird feeling.

Osiric was feeling the same feeling, as well. After all, people in this world shared a connection with the world through the flow and the mana - which is literally released by everything in the world.

I could see it from his facial expression that he was feeling very weird, after all, the feeling of disconnect was far stronger for him than me - or any other otherworlder.

But still, it was pretty hard for a bystander to see the weirded out the expression on his face. As his face had a mostly normal expression, it wasn't him hiding his feelings, it's just how he expressed it.

...

"Fuck yeah!" I swore as I "saw" my internal clock go past 28 minutes!

"You are pretty enthusiastic." Osiric said with a wry smile.

"Yeah, this was way easier than I thought it would be." I said as I completely ignored my body which was currently laying on the ground flat, and also, it was very hard for me to speak. It was the same with Osiric. He was also laying down on the ground, flat; and also felt difficult to speak.

I had thought that it would be much harder, but unlike what I had expected, it was way easier than I had imagined it to be.

True, I was currently lying on the ground. But there was no way my body could adapt to this environment in just 30-40 minutes. Plus, my adaptation percent was pretty low, so I hadn't expected to last that long.

Looking again at Osiric showed that he was in a much better position than I was, he was still lying on the ground, though. I could see that if he had wanted, he could stand up – though that would be pretty hard; unlike me, who would find it almost impossible to stand up.

...

'Here it goes! three,' I started counting down, as I couldn't speak right now – it was too heavy, so, I was counting in my mind, 'two...'

'ONE!'

And just like that the gravitational pull got way way way lower. Though, due to it, my body's started bleeding, thankfully, it was only a minor nosebleed, and only two blood vessels were about to explode.

"The flow's really useful." I said as I stood up in one swift motion, I could easily recreate all those movements that I had seen on TV - I was very proud of it.

Osiric also stood up pretty quickly, as it wasn't that hard to recover because of the flow flowing through our body.

"Well, that was surprisingly way easier than I thought." I turned towards Osiric.

"Yeah." he nodded, "It was way easier than I had expected it to be, as well. Though, for me I only needed a little bit of boost, so I can't say anything about you." He then laughed a little.

As he said that Rind and Emma appeared.

"Well, kids! congratulations! You have passed this round." Rind congratulated us.

Which made, both of us, have a huge grin plastered to our faces.

"You kids should get some rest, I mean, soul exhaustion is pretty risky." Rind said to relax.

Hearing him say to rest, wasn't that surprising. After all, I was pretty sure we would start to tire our soul, which was very bad. If your soul gets tired, then you will permanently be tired, and if it gets damaged, you could connect the dots.

"How long?" Emma asked before I and Osiric could.

"Let's see... Wait!" Rind then looked at us, "You have already shown to be much more powerful than I had imagined, and there isn't much I could do for your growth, right now. So let's do this, instead of 100, you are going to only do 50 rounds. And from that, you are only going to 10 each day – meaning you have already finished your daily limit, so you can rest for today. It will fit perfectly with your schedule, as well."

Hearing him say that, we couldn't believe our ears, "Really!?"

Rind smiled as he saw us saying that, "Yep! You can thank me later."

"Thanks!" we thanked him as I and Emma congratulated, Osiric didn't want to do it, but he was still pretty happy. Even he was finding it pretty hard, after all, doing nothing but training for days straight is pretty overwhelming.
