38 F-rank!

I was floating, no, its better to say that I was doing nothing - the feeling was hard to express with words. I was inside my consciousness, more accurately my soul.

I had read, and that Osiric had told me, that classing up changes our souls, minds, and bodies on the smallest scale. So classing up requires everything to be fused together.

Since our minds was already fused with our bodies, we didn't need to worry about fusing our body. But we needed to fuse our minds and souls together, that was a requirement.

The problem was that souls existed in a higher dimension than our minds, so we would see a higher dimension; it can drive our minds crazy. So the gods made the class up crystal work in way that made sure we didn't just die from it.

So the result was this, I couldn't feel anything - all of my senses were cut out. I couldn't understand what I was doing so the only thing I could describe myself was through the word 'floating.'

When I was thinking about my state of being, a window showed up. The window was the same as our status page; but instead of displaying our statuses, it displayed the classes I could get.

The window had three options:

Battle Mage

Inferno Mage

Elemental Mage

When I saw those classes listed, immediately my mind was flooded with their information. It was just like how appraisal worked; it also made explaining the feeling of appraisal easier to a normal person in this world.

Since it was the same when we first got our class, and a normal person would get their class when they reach the age of 15. Actually, when we had first met Osiric; he had just gotten his class.

But anyways, about the classes: Battle mage boosted my magic and melee skills, it favoured my magic skill more - though, its magic boost still wasn't strong as a normal magic class.

Then there was inferno mage, the class boosted my magic, mainly fire and wind. It was focused on pure destruction. I had heard that a level 47 inferno mage had leveled 10 mountains with a single attack. But it still wasn't the best option.

Elemental mage, the best option available. It was a class that I had gotten through my law - which automatically made it a stronger class - and with how I used my magic. It boosted all my magic skills - it didn't boost my spearmanship, though; I wasn't worried about that as I didn't use the skill for what its main purpose was, i.e discount GoB.

It was a simple decision, I chose elemental mage. Then soon as I chose that I came back to reality. It took me about a millisecond to get a hold of myself. It would probably be insignificant if I was normal; but with my new senses it didn't feel insignificant, at all.

But I didn't worry about that, after all, there was a stream of notification coming in my head.

I explained my status to Osiric and Emma; Emma was a little annoyed - since I did get more uniques than her - but she had a wry smile, as Osiric was praising me.

Though I didn't feel any glee from his praising, it was just his personality. He was pretty optimistic, even though deep down he is the most pessimistic guy I have ever talked to.

The notifications I had gotten after my class up was that my skills had evolved and fused. They mostly turned into unique skills, but there still some - I mean a single one - which did evolve and didn't turn into a unique skill.

The example: haste evolved into accelerate.

The most important skill I had gotten out of this ordeal was elemental magic, elemental mastery, and multi-elemental cast.

Elemental magic was the better version of fire, water, wind, and earth. It combined both the base element and the specialized version of those element into a single skill; so I could make lightning, ice, lava, metal easier than before. It was also level 7, so that was a plus - since it gets super hard to level up after level 6 and after level 7 it almost become impossible unless you have a classed up or are highly talented.

Elemental mastery is the better and more specialized version of magic mastery, which evolved from magic control. Though manipulating the laws of physics would be a little bit more harder than magic mastery - it was still better than magic control in that area, my control over elemental magic basically just skyrocketed.

Then comes multi-elemental cast. It just basically makes elemental magic stronger and with it I can now make about 500 spears. If I somehow get it to level 10, I would probably have 100,000 spears. After all, it was a unique.

Emma had also gotten a lot of unique skills - though not as much as me. She was still strong on her own right.

Osiric, on the other hand, basically got nerfed. He lost his resistance skills. You may say it was only resistance skills, what's the difference; Osiric already fought cautiously.

I would've said the same, if I didn't know how soft the magic system in this world was.

Physical resistance not only reduces the damage you take physically but also the physical strain your body endures. So basically, you can get stronger with a resistance skill; it was the same thing with magic resist.

Though he did get a level 8 skill out of it and some uniques, so he again became the strongest one in our party - especially since his sword had an effect at the class up, so it got a little stronger - even with the 60% decrease in his total power.

"Os, now its going to hard to class up, right?" I asked Osiric, he then turned towards me and nodded, "Your's and Emma's stat gain was pretty much doubled, but the requirement for the third class up is to have 1,000 in all of your stats," Osiric then calculated our total stat growth, "you will only gain about 2,600 points, with most of them being your stat points. So it's going to hard to reach 1,000 in every stat. And the fourth class up needs 10,000 points in each stat, which would be even harder to do; as you will only gain 7,280 stat points form leveling up to max."

I and Emma both tried to memorize what he had said; as we had done on our time in this world. Osiric's information were always credible, since he even knew where his knowledge came from and could provide us with the books he had read them from.

While I was thinking about how hard it would be to get the fifth class, where we needed to have 100,000 in all our stats; when we only got 18k points through leveling up.

Osiric then reminded me, "Tyler, we should probably rank up; it's kinda getting late."

I was a little startled but quickly nodded, "Sorry, I was a little busy thinking about stuff."

Osiric didn't mind it and just said to rank up. He also went to Emma and called her to sit somewhere.

The reason for that was that I was the party leader, so only I could rank us up. Ranking up would make it impossible for us to get an easy quest. As all the quest we will get will, at the minimum, be low F-rank.

Which was as harder than a G+ quest. So parties only ranked up when all their members were ready to rank up.

Ranking up didn't take a while, I only needed to show my card to an receptionist and she can easily rank us up. She would also need to write in a documents.

Now you may ask, if they have an advanced system as their card and the IMW; shouldn't they have things that are substitute to computer like how cards are substitute to a smartphone?

Yes, they have a substitute for a computer; they didn't need to use it at all since the cards will just immediately record our information. So the only use for their Catheblio - their substitute for a computer - was when they needed to find information on some adventurer.

The reason for the documents was for legal reason - basically the it was to report to the state. The guild didn't leave any compromises in their system.

I then walked up to a receptionist and politely said, "Hello."

Then I with my best tone explained her, "I want to rank up, please." I also gave her my card.

The receptionist nodded and checked my card. The reason for doing that was soo that she can verify that I had enough points for the rank up and that she would know that she needed to rank up Emma and Osiric as well.

Actually she couldn't do anything besides that, cards were also very secured so if you weren't an owner of the card and tried to use it, you will only get the basic information about the owner - and that's if you were lucky since once a person had lost their card they could easily get another, though the would have to pay for it.

The guild employees also weren't exempt from that rule, they could see more but all those information were only minimum requirement for their work.

The process didn't take a while, only about 10 seconds.

"Here you go." the receptionist said kindly with a professional smile.

And that's how we ranked up.
