9 Chapter 9: Ignis Spring

"That was quick." I said as I looked at the city in front of me.

The city was at the bottom a massive mountain, more accurately, a dormant volcano. The volcano's name was Mt. Rigret. It's named that way because it was the birthplace of a Perfect White Fire Dragon, a B-rank monster, or a saint class monster.

It was due to that; most of the country got destroyed, with 40% of its entire population dying. Due to the massive amounts of mana released from the birth of the dragon, the volcano became dormant, while the surroundings became rich in mana.

When people found springs in here, they also found that the springs had massive amounts of mana in them.

The mana's element was fire, holy, and light. It was due to that, the springs were very popular, since the fire mana would make the water comfortable; while the holy and light mana would heal your body, soul, and mind.

The city was developed, it had an Asian aesthetic; I would later learn that it was because a past hero had made the town - which later developed to this city.

The surroundings were not what I had expected from the birthplace of one of the strongest dragons in the world, I mean if I wasn't already infected with other fantasy books.

I imagined it to look a little barren and desolate - with magma flowing through, but it was actually pretty green, no, very green. That again was due to the massive amounts of mana still remaining after the birth of the dragon.

I and Emma felt a little tingly, due to the massive amounts of fire and holy mana in here.

"I mean what do you expect Tyler, the horse was fast as a train." Emma answered,

"You feel tingly, right?" I asked her, she nodded.

"You should also be tingly, right? I mean there should be fire mana in the atmosphere." she replied, I nodded to that.

"I am really getting excited about the hot spring, just being near the city makes me comfortable and relaxed." I said to Emma, I mean if I could get this tingly here how much would I get if I entered a hot spring, the place where most of the mana is located at.

"I am kinda bummed out; I have an affinity with pure, the element that's the rarest to have an affinity for. So I really can't relax like you guys." Osiric said, a little bummed.

We could only give a wry smile, getting pure mana as an affinity wasn't something most people would dream about.

Even if it's a semi-divine magic, it's the weakest one. It's so weak that it could be beaten by special magic, heck, even basic magic would be able to beat it.

It also gets resisted by every magic resistance skill, like fire magic resist. If you have magic resist, pure magic would be even weaker - only being 25% effective.

While we were having that the coachman said that he will go back, so we have to walk to the city. When I asked why, Osiric replied by saying that intermediate class horse, especially the one who is draconic in origin, can sense the mana left by the dragon pretty well.

So, they would be scared and will be paralyzed.

We thanked the coachman for the 30-minute ride and left him; we then started walking towards the city.

The city had a small wall, only about 3 meters high and 2 meters thick. The wall looked small, but I knew that just by seeing it that you could throw the entire continent at it and it won't even get scratched, heck, you could throw the entire moon at it for all I care.

I was a little overwhelmed for a moment, but quickly came back to my senses. I looked around to see that all of us were a little pale.

"Osiric, how would normal people be able to pass this wall without passing out?" I asked him, curious since we were hundreds of times stronger than an average person and still got a little pale.

"They would do it easily, the wall would only give out enough pressure to warn the people; just making them pale. The higher rank or class you are, the stronger the pressure becomes. Normal people won't even feel a thing and people starting from E-rank won't also feel a thing." Osiric answered.

"Ok." I replied, starting to walk.

It didn't take us that long to reach the main gate, I quickly talked with the guards and paid the 20 silver to enter the city.

The guards were very weak, barely ranking as a G-ranker, but I didn't expect them to do anything. The wall was more than strong enough to protect the city. An A-ranked wall would be able to hold out to an onslaught of an A-ranker for 5 hours straight, and they don't even cost 1% of the total price needed to hire an A-ranker to guard something.

We entered the city, I was a little shocked. The mana inside was really something. The mana density was so high that I could even see them flow; it was weird since even seeing the mana itself, I didn't get distracted from anything.

"I can see the mana." Emma said as her eyes were wide opened. Osiric was a little dissatisfied since he couldn't see it.

"Let's not waste time, we should quickly go the spring." I said to them, a little impatient about the spring.

"Sure."

"Ok."

Osiric and Emma replied.

...

After walking for about a minute or so, we found the spring. It was pretty easy since I and Emma only needed to sense a place where large amounts of mana are gathered. The spring we had chosen was called 'Ignis Spring.'

It was the most expensive spring here; it looked magnificent. Just seeing the architecture of the spring made me feel a little awe towards it.

It was the same with Emma, though Osiric looked excited. It wasn't surprising as Osiric had the highest willpower among us.

"Let's go inside!" Osiric said to us, smiling and looking very excited.

We gave him a wry smile and went inside.

And that's how we got to the spring.
