6 Chapter 6: First Quest

"So, we have to find some magical herbs, right?" I asked Os,

"Yep," Os answered, "you don't have to worry about getting attacked, I can easily kill any animals that can harm us. But you should also try to fight, skill level's exp rate increases the more you fight."

"Ok, but first we have to earn some money, right?" Emma said to Os.

"Yes, the king had only given us about 10 silver coins. It's only enough to survive for about 10 days." Os answered.

The king had said that he couldn't give us much money because we had to get stronger fast and that giving out massive amounts of money would make us quite weak, there was historical evidence that giving 10 gold coins to an otherworlder would make them spend in on luxury and skill books.

Skill books were good, but they didn't give you combat experience. So they quickly died when the demon lord's army had arrived.

We had taken a simple quest, it was collect magical herbs. The reward for it was 200 exp and 20 silver, it could get higher if we get high-ranking herbs.

Osiric had said that with appraisal, we can easily find it and that max level appraisal also had the ability to increase an item's ranking.

"Tyler, let's get to work." Emma said to me as she started using appraisal to find the herbs.

I hadn't looked at it clearly, but using appraisal makes your irises shine with a gold-light. It was pretty cool looking, to be honest. I quickly got rid of that thought and started working.

It had been about 10 minutes, but we had already gotten 10 high-ranking herbs and even 1 epic-ranking herb. We were pretty excited to get this much herbs, we also had met our classmates; though we didn't talk to them.

Emma had asked me to check the stat of the person they had gotten, it was pretty surprising to see that their stats were all high 30s. We had really hit a jackpot with Osiric.

"Osiric, before we head back, we should fight a little, shouldn't we?" I asked him, prepared to gain some combat experience; I had also told Emma to get more herbs.

"Do you really want to fight?" Osiric replied.

I nodded; Osiric smiled a little bit and said, "Really, I was getting a little bored. Don't worry I will find a monster in about 1-2 minutes."

"Ok." I responded.

"Emma, can you come with us." Osiric said to Emma, Emma nodded at came with us. "Do you have any healing spells." I asked her, she started thinking for a while and replied, "Yes, I have. But it is weak. It, at most, can only heal a cut."

"That's quite weak, especially since my fireball is that strong." I said to her, reminding her of the test.

"Don't worry about it, healing magic starts weaker. But at higher-levels, it can even resurrect." Osiric replied, "Really!" Emma said to him.

Osiric nodded, "You just have to wait for a bit, healing magic takes a while to learn, but after you learn it you can easily heal minor injuries with your level 2 magic."

Emma smiled a little bit, knowing that her magic wasn't weak. I also smiled, since we didn't worry about injuries that much with Emma, in the future.

After walking for about 1 minute or so, Osiric stopped. "Os, what happened." Emma asked him, Osiric replied, "There are about 5 tigers in that direction."

"Really! Can we beat them." I asked him.

"Yep, you can particularly one-hit them if you compress your magic. Also Tyler, you should try to use more than one spell at a time; it can unlock multi-casting. It's super helpful for a mage."

"Ok, I'll try my best. Emma are you ready."

"Yes." Emma nodded and readied herself.

I as well readied myself for combat, Osiric went first. He had told us that he wanted us to get the experience for it, so he would only injure them so that they can't move a lot.

The tigers roared, they quickly tried to attack Osiric; but before they could Osiric had already cut their tendons with his iron sword. I was shocked to see him do that but should've expected it since he had thrown Rick pretty far, so fast that we couldn't even react to it.

If we were now, we could react to it, since our stats were way higher than before.

"Ok, Emma let's level up." I said I quickly made a fireball since Osiric had said to compress them and try using more than one at a time. I compressed the fireball and tried to use two of them at once,

As soon as I saw that notification; it felt like I had somehow gotten basic knowledge of how to do it. I easily compressed the fireball and was able to make two of them at once.

The tigers were fighting against Osiric, no, it was like Osiric was playing with them. I didn't let this distract me as I quickly shot out two fireballs, which I had renamed to fire arrow.

"Fire Arrow!" I chanted.

Two red hot arrows hit the tiger, piercing them.

I quickly felt a rush of adrenaline pass through my body, I got excited. I quickly used those 20 stat points I had gotten to increase my magic stat.

I quickly felt a rush of power, I again used magic. This time the fire arrow took less time and was way stronger than before. I used them again and killed two tigers.

I again level up, it was super quick. I again put all my points into magic and watched it increase. I also made another arrow and killed the tiger.

[Due to magic being over 100 and due to the title skill 'Otherworlder'; you gain 1 level increase in every magic-related skill lower than 5 and gain the new skill 'Magic Power Boost (Middle)']

[Due to the level 1 increase in skill, 'Magic Boost (Middle)' has become 'Magic Boost (Greater)']

"Holy shit, just that made me way stronger than before." I said to myself.

"Really? It was soo fast. I couldn't even help you." Emma replied, "Yeah, I level up 2 times because of that. My magic is now over 100 and I have also gotten 3 new skills. Two of which are now level 3 and also every skill, except 'Physical Resist', has become level 3. The last new skill I had gain boosts my magic power. The average of my stat is 60, as most of my stats are over 40s."

"Don't you think that was too fast." Emma said to me

"Yep and I love it." I replied, "You should also try it sometimes."

"It really feels good to level up."

"Hey, Tyler have you leveled up. You should have also gotten new skills right." Osiric was slowly walking to us, he didn't even suffer a single scratch while fighting the tigers.

"Yeah, I got pretty powerful in less than a minute." I said to him, excited.

"Ok, let's go back. You tell me about it when we complete the quest."
