4 Chapter 4: Guild

The city was massive; there were 60 meters high walls surrounding it. I quickly thought about attacks on humans when I saw those walls. The walls were also crazy hard and strong; Osiric told us that even if you threw a large island and made it crash against the wall, even then it won't suffer a single scratch.

The inside was a little surprising as well, it looked quite magical. There were floating vehicles, houses; fuck this looked like how I imagined the future to be like in our world – though, to be honest, the constructions all looked medieval, somehow. I couldn't see anything in the capital since I, Emma and Osiric quickly rode the carriage out of the castle.

I didn't look out of the carriage because I was busy talking with Osiric, I now regretted that decision a little bit. I looked at Emma, she was also surprised like I was.

"Os, do you know where the adventurer's guild is?" I asked him, but was shocked to see him also being surprised.

"Oh! Sorry, I haven't gone outside my village so I was a little surprised to see this. I don't know where it, but someone living here should." he said as he started talking to strangers.

---

It took about 20 minutes to find the guild, the biggest reason we found it so late was because the city was massive so it took a long to walk to the guild and that we got a little lost.

We quickly went into the guild, I found that the guild looked exactly like what we could find in fantasy – though the construction was different. Osiric quickly headed to the receptionist, after some time we were ready to register, but before we did that we had to take a test.

Osiric said that we should easily pass the test, as even normal people can pass it – though they would have to have some training.

"Do you want an explanation about the guild." the pretty receptionist lady asked us.

The world was pretty bizarre, so I and Emma nodded to each other and said, "Yes."

"Ok. The guild is a multi-continental organization, so wherever you may go there should be a branch there, unless it's too rural. The adventurers are divided into 8 different ranks it goes from G-S. Most of the adventurers are stuck on D-rank, and the people who are above it are considered talented. You can increase your rank by doing quests and gaining a lot of points and then taking the test, if you fail the promotion test you will have to wait a month before you are again able to take the test again…" she then started saying the lore behind the guild, to put it simply, it was due to monsters and a hero being summoned from another world.

"Are you ready to take the test." she asked us, we all replied yes.

We were taken to the guild's yard, "This is the test, you just have to damage the dummy." a buff guy asked us.

The test seemed pretty simple, we just needed to damage a straw dummy in front of us, Os said that to harm it you need to be about 2 times stronger than a regular human. In simpler terms, you had to be an athlete.

First was Osiric, he took a sword from the guild and easily cut the dummy in half. I was next, Osiric said not to worry about anything since my magic was more than strong enough to destroy it and that I can use magic instinctively due to my skill.

I trusted him, I went in front of the dummy. I wanted to use fire magic, I instinctively knew how to use it. I was pretty surprised that it was quite easy; I just needed to imagine a spell and use my mana. It was pretty easy.

"Fireball!"

A soccer ball sized ball of fire was fired from my finger, inside I was hyped because I just used magic. The ball of fire exploded and the result was the upper portion of the dummy was gone.

I was surprised to see it was that strong, then It was Emma's turn.

Emma did the same thing, but instead a ball of fire, she made an arrow of holy light, she had dubbed her attack 'holy arrow'

It pierced through the dummy, and that's how we all got into the guild
