13 Chapter 13: Rest

I woke up, slowly opening my eyelids.

"Tyler, you ok?" A boy with white hair and red eyes asked me.

It took me some time to catch up, but I knew that the boy was named Osiric. After a while, I quickly woke and yelled, "Os, what the hell was that."

I remembered how I had passed out and how before I could even see him he had knocked out Emma as well.

"You guys win." Osiric said shrugging a little.

"Really?" Emma asked.

I was also a little shocked to find out that we had won, but more because I didn't expect Emma to wake up faster than me - that was until I realized that Emma here had the highest resistance stat even beating out our vanguard, Osiric.

"Yeah, Tyler's attack give you a passing grade. It was very fast, I even needed to use energy redirect, an advanced technique level 6 swordsmanship give you." Osiric answered.

Energy redirect, it's one of the most powerful melee abilities. It is given to you when you have reached level 6 in the skill. It's mostly acquired by F or E-rankers. The ability symbolizes that you have reached a level of swordsmanship that's way above human limits.

"Say Osiric, how will rate my attack." I asked him, a little curious about it.

"Your attack was strong as a guy having level 3 weapon skill, that's very strong. You are probably going to beat me in raw power in melee as well in the future." Osiric answered, "Emma will do it even faster, and her arrow would definitely be helpful as she can enchant them with different effects like buff and debuffs."

Hearing that come from Osiric, the strongest person, if you don't count the king, we have met in this world. But learning that Emma can buff and debuff with her arrows made her, even more, scarier than before, and her magic was already scary before.

Holy magic's buff and debuffs needed her to be 1m near her target, but if it can be done with her arrows then it will be quite the unholy use of her holy magic.

Holy magic's debuffs are very unholy, they include reducing your healing, making debuffs last longer and easier, giving you a lot of passively damaging debuffs, and decreasing your stats and many more crippling debuffs. Also, if you don't have a holy magic-user in your party then you are screwed, that means about 60% of the people we may meet are going to go through hell.

"Emma your magic is going to be even more unholier." I said to her.

"I know." she answered.

I turned towards Osiric and said, "That' really good, right? Level 3 skills means your skill with the weapon is above human limits, right?"

"Yep that's true, you are going to be pretty strong. But your skill with the weapon will also be higher than your level. Though not to the degree as it's with mine." Osiric answered.

I was very happy that even the skill would be higher than the level. I wasn't surprised to find out that the skill would still be lower than Osiric's. Osiric is very talented with the sword and also had a max level superior blessing, which basically means he has a strong legendary skill buffing his swordsmanship skill.

"You guys should probably rest, I have broken about 10-50 bones of you both with the last attack." Osiric said to us, then he went to his own room to sleep.

I looked at Emma, "Yeah, I had to heal us up. I couldn't even stand up after waking up. I needed to heal me and you."

"Ok, but still beating Osiric in raw power even in melee is quite the accomplishment. Plus making him use energy redirect was unexpected." I answered.

I had already beat Osiric in raw power in just 3-4 days, but that was with magic, beating him in purely in melee raw power was just mind-boggling to think about. It also made me realize how much of a cheat we were, beating a guy with a blessing that only 1/1,000,000,000,000 people had was seriously a cheat.

He using energy redirect for my attack made me pretty proud; since he didn't even use it against the orc chief. This didn't mean that I was better than the orc chief in melee, it just meant that I had more raw power in my attack surpassing the orc chief.

I and Emma stretched ourselves and quickly got ready to sleep. We talked about some trivial things and how this life was more enjoyable than before - not counting the last week.

We then went to our respective rooms, since we were all given one room each in the place that we had gotten, it had cost us about 40 gold coins to get this place at the inn.

Emma and I went to Osiric's room and told him good night, he also said good night to us. We then said good night to each other and slept.

The bed was very comfortable and due to the natural mana being so high in this place, especially considering I had a perfect affinity for one of them. It made me feel very comfortable and I slept peacefully.

And that's how we ended our first day in the hot spring.
