11 Chapter 11: Mana Weapons

"So that's what we mean." I explained to Emma in our room.

We were sitting a normal Asain esque room. I wasn't surprised seeing that this whole hot spring, no, this whole city had an Asian aesthetics.

We wore clothes that we normally would, simple clothes you could find back home. Osiric was wearing a white hoodie, black pants, and white socks.

While I and Emma wore a blue shirt, blue pants, and some socks. Seeing us without context would make anyone from back home think we weren't in a fantasy world and there was an edgy guy with us.

I and Osiric had taken about 2 minutes to find Emma, that's mostly because we got a little confused about the rooms, the hot spring was massive. After finding her, we quickly went to the place that the receptionist had given us and talked about using weapons other than magic.

"I get it and I agree. But who is going to teach us." Emma asked a little worried, she knew that it would be very beneficial to use melee weapons; but she wasn't sure who was going to train them.

Trying to make an adventurer train them wasn't something they wanted to do after finding out competitive adventurers could be. Emma didn't trust anyone in this world except Tyler and Osiric.

"I can train you guys. Though I don't know how to properly use a spear and a bow, I know the basics. You guys can try to fight me and that will level up your skills easily, since fighting me will be considered combat. Don't worry I won't hurt you guys." Osiric answered he had a smug smile on his face.

"I have already agreed with him training me, the only person left if you Emma." I said to Emma.

Emma nodded and agreed, "Well then, when do you guy want to train, we can do it here or in Libert." Osiric asked us.

I was pretty excited to learn how to use a new weapon, plus the prospect of fighting close made me a little excited. I wanted to just wanted to learn the skill today and then for the next few weeks I would level it up.

"I will like to gain the skill before I sleep, so I want to train after we eat." I replied to Osiric, since it was evening now I wanted to train at night; like how we did last week.

I quickly made myself not think about last week. I don't why but somehow I keep on remembering that hell.

"It's the same for me, I want to get the skill today." Emma shared the same opinion with me; which wasn't surprising at all, considering our personalities.

"It's going to be a little hard..." Osiric started thinking, "Do you guys know about 'mana weapons'."

"No." Emma and I answered together shaking our head a little.

"Well, it's my fault for not explaining to you guys sooner. But basically..." Osiric started explaining what mana weapons were.

...

"...and that's it." Osiric finished explaining to use what kinds of weapons were mana weapons. The explanation took him about 2 minutes to finish.

If I were to simplify it: mana weapons, as the name implies, were weapon made out of one's mana. They possess special abilities that normal weapons don't possess. The first and foremost is that there is no limit in enchanting and enhancing that normal weapons face, they are easier to use and will make you learn the skill faster, they have special attributes to them - for example, a fire mana weapon can burn and is able to be enchanted with any heat-related enchantment with less cost and is easier to enchant it, and finally, they are your own so they can't be separated from you - unless you were crazy enough to fight someone 2 ranks or 1 class above you.

Mana weapons also have their respective skill and will posses a name when the skill is above 5 - which just means its stronger.

The drawbacks to them are that they cost mana just to make them exist, the enchantments, comparatively, are weaker, if the weapon is fire then its hard to give it a water-based enchantment, enchantment also cost magic to use and maintain, and finally, the biggest drawback is that without the skill the weapons would be weaker than normal.

"But, if you level up the skill high enough. Mana weapons are able to outperform a magic weapon in its specialization." Osiric ended it, "Also, I may have forgotten to tell you this. But I have been using something called a pseudo mana weapon."

"Huh?" Emma and I looked a little dumbfounded.

"What's a pseudo mana weapon?" Emma asked him.

"Do you remember the time I cut the orc chief in half." Osiric said as his expression said that he had just talked about a bitter memory.

"Yeah." we both answered.

I, no, we won't be able to forget that attack for a while. Osiric saw that rat bastard and knew he was about to something.

Due to worrying about us, he quickly used 50% of his mana. He started shining white, his weapon got white as well.

His sword had changed, his sword had a gem in the middle of its guard, the handle changed a little and became longer, at the end of the hilt there was also a crystal.

The blade became a lot longer than usual, instead of the usual 70 cm, it became over 90 cm long. There were two lines running down the entire blade, to be honest, it was pretty cool.

He then used an attack that was way to fast for anyone in the battle to see, in an instant all of the people's view turned white due to the light released from that attack.

It particularly blinded everyone there for about 5 minutes.

"That attack was from a pseudo mana weapon?" I asked him, "Yeah, more accurately I used a technique with it."

"Pseudo mana weapons need you to have a normal, physical weapon and a mana weapon. They are very powerful since they combine the benefits of both of the weapon type. The drawback is that there is no skill for it and that it's super hard to use - you can make it easier by leveling up your weapon skill, magic skill, and the mana weapon skill - and finally, it costs stupid amounts of mana." Osiric continued, "That technique I used against the orc king would only cost me about 4-5% of my total mana, but with a pseudo mana weapon it cost about 50% of my total mana. Though the attack as about 12x stronger than normal."

"I don't recommend you guys to learn it now. Even with my two blessings I still have a hard time controlling the weapon, you should probably learn how to use a pseudo mana weapon after you have made all you related skills to level 6."

It took me some time to process the information he had just given us, then I nodded. I really got excited with the thought of a pseudo magic weapon; just using it to annihilate enemies would be pretty fun.

"That's really cool. But we should probably go to eat, we have some training to do." Emma asked us to eat.

We nodded and went with her, Osiric said that he wanted to eat at a restaurant. So we all went into a restaurant to eat our dinner.

And that's how we learned about mana weapons.
