63 Lukemobile

After collecting his remunerations and mission rewards from MI9, Luke set off along with Lucy, who had more or less become his shadow by now.

Once they were out of Sozra, Luke spoke first.

"Before anything, we need to get a house. Not only a house, but a large plot of land, away from MI9, The Guild of Magic and all other organisations."

"Then?"

"I train you until you can take care of yourself."

"Why?"

"So that you can take revenge."

A bone-chilling smile crept up on Lucy's face for an instance, before she covered it up and asked in confusion.

"But then what are you for? You can just go and catch them for me?"

Luke was baffled at her method of thinking. Did she think he was some sort of magi- kuk, never mind. He was of the Magician pathway.

Luke ignored the useless question and grabbed her waist before leaping into the air and landing stylishly onto his newly refurbished 'Lukemobile 2.0'

This time, he was able to get the more expensive and secret parts from MI9, and was able to add a lot of things.

His bike was now able to run on Electricity instead of the earlier petrol. And to fix the recharging problem, Luke had many solutions, which included solar panels far more efficient than the ones available to the public back on Earth even in the least days of the game.

He also had some bike-mounted wind-turbines which can be used in case the sun is blocked. And if nothing worked, he could simply use an electrification spell, and use his continuously regenerating mana to power the machine.

Luke had already reached Grand Mage, and he could fly normally by this level. The problem was that it was still not as fast as a really fast bike like his own, nor could he carry a passenger like Lucy, or a captive.

Therefore, until he reached level 60, he would rather stick to the bike. Also, going from his current speed of levelling up, which although not as fast as players, since they do not require a good night's rest, nor do they need to do a lot of the daily activities of life, and could do everything on the go while travelling from one quest to the next, he was still growing incredibly fast.

And the best thing was that being an NPC, he did not need to logout in order to do the daily activities of life with his main body. Furthermore, he had all the Version updates' delays and time skips, which effectively made him the fastest growing player/ NPC in the game!

As they rode, Luke began to explain the other benefits of the bike to Lucy, who had not seen the Lukemobile since the day Luke took it out for a 'mission from MI9' and 'accidentally' smashed it to pieces onto a boulder, after which MI9 graciously re-supplied him many new toys and materials for his Lukemobile. Naturally, they had offered to give him the standard X2E4R, which most MI9 members used, but Luke rejected it and demanded the highest technology he had clearance for.

'Damnit, I should have waited until I got my new B-rank clearance to get better stuff from them!'

While Luke was regretting inwardly, he was excitedly explaining to Lucy, who, like a patient mother, was listening.

"I got the latest 2WDep-200 Electric engine, which is as silent as can be, while giving full torque from the get go. Although I prefer my old engine, this is technically better in every way, other than the feel and sound of course."

"Mmm."

"And I also have a lot of weapons. And I do mean a lot! I got everything you need, all tucked away neatly under the seats."

"Mm-! Wait! So then, if someone was to shoot at use, we would explode into a mushroom cloud, starting from our crotches?" exclaimed Lucy.

"I don't know why you are so worried about your crotch, but no. I have installed bullet-proof armour, which in theory should be able to tank the blast from a tank canon. Naturally, The Bike itself will be blown away from the kinetic energy, and a lot of the exterior delicate parts would be greatly damaged, but if the rider survives, he should be able to get on the bike and ride off once more."

Hearing this, Lucy sighed in relief before quieting down to her silent self once more, completely unknown to her was what the hell a tank was. But by the way Luke described it, it must be similar to the canons on ships.

Then Luke continued his rambling about the insane gadgets nearly 100 years ahead of the current era.
