61 Lucy

Luke ran swiftly, and entered the subway to quickly make his way back to Sozra. Along the way, he messaged Barton once more explaining that he would not be able to make it for a day since something urgent came up.

Seeing Luke's serious expression, Barton realised this was not the usual 'serious' matters that Luke came up with to take a break from missions. This was actually really important, and so he waved it off.

Anyway, Luke had also informed him in the messages that he had ascended to Grand Mage.

Barton was so utterly shocked by this that he fell back into his seat. After some time of contemplating, he rang up his superiors, the council of 12, and explained the situation to them.

They too were utterly shocked, and after some discussion, decided to upgrade Lucas' status from C grade threat to B grade threat, the level where all the grand-mages of the continent were. They also put him at a Blue grade importance, which was their way of saying that 'use any means necessary to keep him in our faction.'

Most Grand mages did not receive this status, however, Lucas was able to grow from a nobody slave with no magic power to speak of, to a grand mage in just 2 years.

This was a speed that far surpassed many of the council themselves, naturally, there existed exceptions, like Mark, who was a monster to begin with.

No one actually knew who his parents were, and nor did he have any family on the continent that anyone knew of. He just kind of appeared out of nowhere, and now was the peak existence in all of Gamin.

On the other hand, Luke spent almost 10 minutes to reach Sozra from his precious location, and quickly ran into his rented home.

He went to his room and swung the door wide open with a loud thud.

Inside, he found Lucy, seeing whom, his expression brightened even more.

"Kakakaka! Lucy! I do not have a limit! Hear that! I do not have a limit!!!" he boomed towards Lucy, who was sleeping on the bed, and was jolted awake by his abrupt yelling.

��Mmm" she nodded while rubbing her eyes.

"I reached Grand Mage, and I don't need to wait for the limit to be lifted! I can keep on going!"

"I see. That is great~" mumbled Lucy in an incredibly soft voice.

Over the past 1 and a half years, Luke had initially given her space. But as time passed, she began to open up more and more, and so did he.

By now, although he simply could not explain to her that they were in a game, nor could he say anything about the system, but he explained her in an indirect way that he had limits to his growth, which would only be lifted with time.

She had gotten this information during a moment of drunkenness from Luke's part, after which Luke had decided to spill the beans in this method.

As time passed, Lucy also began to speak a little here and there, and we had finally reached the current point in time.

Essentially, Luke treated her like a therapist and vlog simultaneously.

His excitement at not being limited was visible clearly on his face, and he leapt into the air to give Lucy a tight hug with a smug grin on his face.

His problem of level limit reducing his available lifespan had been solved. Although he wasn't completely sure if it would last for the next Version limit as well at level 60, it was still enough for him to maintain his youth through the hundred-year war.

"There is something pointy touching me…" Lucy mumbled in an even smaller voice than before, so small that Luke did not hear it.

"Oh right! Lucy! I have some work to do with MI9. But after that, why don't we go and get revenge? Naturally, you will have to wait for the start of the upcoming war, but once it begins, the chaos will allow you to get revenge!"

Hearing this, Lucy forgot about the pointy thing touching her belly, and her expression brightened as she thought of revenge. Of how she would rip her enemies to shreds before getting Luke to heal them so that she can do it again once more.

Luke's body suddenly froze, the mighty being under his belt falling back in order. He felt a cold sensation from Lucy, one that an evil mastermind would give off when they on the cusp of implementing their evil plan.

Luke held onto Lucy's shoulders and moved her in front of him and asked with a horrified expression.

"Lucy, what happened to you? Your face! You look like a certain character from JoJo!"

"JoJo?"

"Nevermind."
