10 Library

In the library, Luke paid the fees of 10 copper and entered for a period of 1 hour. Without wasting any time in searching for the books he wanted, he walked straight up to the librarian in charge and told him,

"Can you help me find a few books?"

"Sure, but as you can see, I'm very busy" said the lean man with a drawn-out face.

Luke understood what he meant. He was asking for compensation. After thinking for a while, Luke said,

"1 bronze"

"5 bronze" retorted the man.

Luke chuckled before looking straight into the man's eyes and saying,

"1 bronze"

"Tch, fine"

The man put down the book he was reading and stood up. He extended his hand elegantly, but Luke said,

"Payment upon delivery."

"Tch. A stingy man indeed. Tell me, which books?"

"Intermediate Meditation, Beginner spellcasting, Beginner Fire Spells, Beginner Water Spells, Beginner Earth Spells, Beginner Air Spells, Beginner Status Spells…"

After a minute long recitation of all the necessary knowledge needed until he became a certified mage, Luke realized a certain problem. It was almost impossible to understand even ¼ of the books he asked for, and after taking a look at the librarian's mocking gaze, Luke cleared his throat and said,

"I will only be reading Intermediate Meditation and Beginner spellcasting today. These two books please."

Hearing this, the librarian nodded and turned to one of the bookshelves and pulled out a neatly tucked in hardcover book. Taking a few steps to the right, the librarian took out another book.

With the Purple and green books in hand, the librarian walked up to Lucas, who most generously offered the 1 bronze and collected the two books before going to one of the tables and taking a seat.

Intermediate Meditation

By Shadow Magus

"Meditation is not an activity. It is a way of life"

One must first comprehend the essence of what it is to meditate, before actually practicing Intermediate Meditation. Previously, you should have learned how to regulate your breathing, to allow your lungs to passively absorb more mana from the air to aide in recovery of energy, or what others know it as, mana.

Now we will learn to actively absorb the mana in the air to double the regeneration speed, as well as heal certain minor injuries and suppress most toxins within one's body.

The End

It took Luke less 3 minutes of reading to finish this 50 page book. He did not understand most of it, and was thoroughly confused. However, the information was present in his mind, in the form of a virtual book.

'How did this happen? Did the system do this? Wait, doesn't that mean that as long as I get a good look at a particular knowledge, it will be stored in my mind, and I can read it later on? But can it store more than one book?'

With this in mind, Luke got to reading the next book. After finishing it, he found another book in his mind.

He took out 5 bronze, and told the librarian to bring out all the other books he had asked from.

Although he was slightly shocked, the librarian proceeded with the task, since he was being paid for it.

Time passed by in a flash, and It had already reached the one hour time limit. However, Luke was satisfied. He had stored nearly a 45 books in his mind. He didn't have to spend the 10 bronze again until he was going to break through to mage.

To become a mage, all he needed to do was reach level 5. However, once he reached that level, it would take double the skill points and talent points to Tier up the skills and talents, irrespective if they were from the apprentice series or mage series. Similar situations occurred for each of the class specialisation, and race evolution, along with every Rank increase.

Ranks are social statuses given to each pathway, regardless of their race and specialisations. The ranks for Magician were already mentioned before. Similarly, the Hunter, Priest, Warrior, and Mechanic Pathways have their own ranks.

The objective of the increase in cost was to reduce the ability of power-levelers, and allow them to concentrate more on improving their skills to the max before increasing their levels.

Therefore, Luke decided to level up to apprentice, while simultaneously learning all the skills in his head, and grinding them all the way to the max. Then he would advance to a certified mage. His goal was to complete this before the open beta in 83 days.

For this, he would also need a lot of skill points and experience, which could only be gained through missions.

Luke silently left the guild and made his way back to the inn, where he his guild related items in a corner, after finding out that no one had entered. He also disposed of the note and closed his eyes to start learning Beginner Spell Casting.

After nearly 3 hours of slowly comprehending the information, a notification popped up in his mind, followed closely by the virtual book vanishing into thin air.

Suddenly he opened his eyes has he exhaled slowly.

"This is too straining! I am already covered in sweat. And all this for a beginner talent!"

Luke sighed softly as he stood up to clean himself before heading over to bring Gard and Harlem for dinner.

Currently, his saving had reduced to 8 Silver, 14 Bronze.
