21 Emergency Quest- Rachel

Soon, the train came to a stop, and a total of 12 people got off, including Luke. They then proceeded towards the stairs that led to the surface.

After almost a minute of climbing, they arrived at the foot of a mountain. This was one of the less important bases according to the map, and since Luke didn't need anything other than 1000 exp, he chose this base instead of the more important and dangerous missions. He didn't want to be part of the many that dies, but the few that lived!

The target was near the base of the mountain, about 50 meters from where they were standing.

The group moved slowly in the dark of the night. With the captain at least 10 levels above Luke's own, and most of the other members having a level around 15, this was a relatively elite group among the MI9.

Soon, they arrived 4 metes from a concealed iron door. If they took a step further, the alarms would get triggered and the mission would have to be aborted because of simple infra-red sensors and a security guard watching the cameras.

Susie, the only Mechanic pathway of the team took out a rather portable laptop and pressed a single button. With this, the hacking process had begun.

Contrary to what movies showcase hackers as, normal hackers pre-write their code to infiltrate the enemy system. When they reach the actual location, all they have to do is run the code and it happens.

Within a few seconds, a small door to the left of the main door opened from the rocks themselves.

The captain was the first to enter followed by the rest of the team. They moved swiftly, avoiding as many cameras as possible, and putting the unavoidable ones into loops.

This was the only safety measure most buildings had other than real guards. No one places traps and the like inside a working base, since that would reduce the work efficiency of those inside, resulting in more time being wasted.

Even government buildings do not use traps. Naturally, some ancients tombs and ruins do have them since they are no longer in use.

They soon arrived at the second floor as Luke had put the few guards they met along the way to sleep permanently, before they saw what hit them.

One by one, they checked each of the rooms, killing the guards within. Although the higher ups wanted the base intact, they did not want the personnel. Since this was only the second floor, there were barely 1 to 2 personnel per room, but killing nearly 20 level 4 and above people himself gave Luke enough exp to level up. He did not waste any time and chose to level up here, since the class advancement mission might have something to do from his current situation, and it did not affect his actual combat ability while leveling up.

Specialisation

Specialisation is required before you can level up. Choose one of the following options:

1] Tracker

2] Artisan

3] Clown

4] Sun

Tracker was a specialisation from the hunter pathway which Luke should have received from all the hunting he did in the first month of his rebirth. Taking this Specialisation would improve his hunting abilities, and allow him to access more specialisations from the Hunter pathway.

Artisan was of the Mechanic as well as Magician Pathway, which he should have received from all the artifacts he crafted. Taking this Specialisation would improve his crafting abilities, and allow him to access more specialisations from the Mechanic pathway.

Clown was from the Magician pathway, and generally the default Specialisation taken by most Magicians.

Sun was from the Priest pathway, and Luke had no idea how he got it. It could have been killing off the Two headed monster to prevent the further loss of innocent lives? Or the time he worked in the hospital for a mission issues to protect a certain someone's injured daughter?

Seeing these options, Luke fell into a dilemma. The standard procedure for all players in any pathway was to choose specialisation either stemming from their own pathway, i.e. the default specialisation or ones gained from hidden quests, or chose those specialisations which added to their existing strengths. For example, a magician taking the Artisan pathway was considered increasing one's strength, while choosing the clown specialisation was taking one that stemmed from his own pathway.

However, this was a method used by professional players and fans in preparation for PvPs and Team Battles in the Pro League Competition. It was crated for players at the same level fighting with each other.

Naturally, Luke does not intend to, nor will his future enemies give him the chance at such a fair fight.

Therefore, his options were not limited to the scope. He could also take Tracker, or Sun. However, Tracker had abilities which could easily be replicated using magic. Only higher levels of the hunter pathway's abilities cannot be copied by the magician pathway. Therefore, the only option he had left was Sun. And in fact, he actually wanted this particular pathway's abilities. It was mainly purifying, and regeneration.

Purifying could be created to some extent using fire and lightening magic, however healing cannot be replicated. A magician can use Body Magic and temporarily heal wounds during desperate situations, however, once their mana runs out, the wound will re-appear. Furthermore, this only stops the bleeding status ailment put on the person, and not restoring the HP bar.

No other pathway could replicate this power of the Priest. Therefore, with this reasoning in his mind, Luke chose the Sun specialisation.

Within a few seconds, notifications popped up in his mind.

Class advancement Mission

Level up Skill Unbreakable Courage to Level 5 and evolve it to Undying Will Lv 0

===================

At this moment, they arrived at the last door of the floor, and opening it, they found only one person inside. One sole female, standing in a pool of blood, with corpses lying all around her.

Luke froze for a second. This scene was a lot more graphic that what the game developers would allow in the game. However, he quickly recovered, and while preparing some of his newly learned healing magic, as well as some offensive fire and earth magic, he used inspection on her.

There were only question marks. There was not even a name. This only happens in one case, when the target is more than 20 levels higher than you. Up till now, only Barton, the Executive Commander of MI9 had a similar status screen.

This discovery immediately rung emergency bells in Luke's mind as a notification popped up
