29 Dragon egg!

Seeing this, Luke was going to immediately accept it and investigate the scene through his fine-tuned gamer instinct, that told him there was more to this quest than just 1 mission.

However, he thought of something.

'Heh, since when was an old man like me this nosey into other people's matters? I already have that Rachel as a big enough headache. Why do I want to make more enemies? Phew! For a moment there, I was going to turn into a true male protagonist who does things on instinct and makes enemies out of bigshots for a slave he met 3 seconds ago! Keke, that is something for the young ones to do. I should just relax and increase my levels.'

So far, all of Luke's advancement missions have been easy, simply increasing the levels of certain skills or evolving them, and Luke did not need to bother with something so bothersome that would create more enemies for no apparent reason.

At this moment, his 'Lukemobile' as he named it had already come to a stop so he could read the mission requirements.

He noticed a figure running in the dark a distance away. He was clearly running away from something and seemed extremely haggard.

On his bag was a bag, clearly stuffed with something incredibly heavy, as he ran awkwardly to the west. Luke had always kept invisibility spells on himself and his Lukemobile. This was to prevent people from being to shocked from his speed and start attacking him thinking he was some monster, or some unforeseen circumstances arising here he chances upon someone like Rachel.

Silently, Luke cast inspection on his target, who clearly didn't notice a think. Looking at his status, Luke was slightly confused.

'This guy sure is something. He is a mid-rank member of the Resistance, The Leon kingdom, The Roland Theocracy, as well as The Holy kingdom of Islesat. How is this guy still alive? And his status shows he has been poisoned by-'

Just as Luke read the latter part of the status of the quadruple-agent, his pupils constricted.

'DRAGON BREATH!

Dragons existed in this world, but they do not come out in public much. No matter how much you search, you might not find one for years, while a lucky adventurer, or unlucky woodcutter, might come across one while on a leisurely stroll.

The main thing was, that all dragons have skills which are even more over-powered than the powers 'over-powered' defines!

Each dragon takes only 5 years to grow from an egg to a fully grown adult capable of flying, and can live for tens of thousands of years! The most unfair part is that A fully grown dragon needs to be at least level 40! Dragons naturally gain levels by eating and sleeping! They are even more unique than Uniques themselves!

Each of a dragon's attacks are equal to 15 humans of the dragon's same level. Each of their skills are increased in level by sleeping along with their levels, and all dragons do is eat, sleep and mate. In fact, Dragons were considered bosses even at the end of 'Ultimatum'. The average natural level of all living being, including dragons. Currently, the highest level dragons should be around 99. But as versions pass, Some dragons breakthrough bottlenecks that have irritated them for centuries or even millennia.

'Essentially, dragons are a bunch of grumpy old men, much unlike my refined self.' Luke said inwardly as he turned to look at the sky to search for an angry dragon flying after its prey.

However, even after 20 minutes of vigilance, Luke finds nothing.

He then decided to take a small risk and interrogate the running man who had crossed quite the distance in these 20 minutes.

Relying on his enhanced perception, Luke swiftly closed in on his target and knocked him out before tying him up. Next he set up a small camp, using fire spells for light.

After carefully going through the target's belongings, and taking anything useful. He also found something he thought he would never see in his life. It was an egg the size of his own torso… A dragon egg, with all kinds of runes engraved on them using dragon tongue.

Dragon tongue was a language used by dragons that was similar to Magic runes in the sense that they can store energy. The only difference being, that only dragons and half-dragons can use it, and that dragon tongue can invoke the powers of nature just by saying it.

In the future, half-dragons were a popular choice, however this would limit one to be completely faithful to a real dragon, or else they would lose their strongest weapon, Dragon tongue.

Luke did not dare to pronounce any of the word on it, afraid it might act as a beacon for the parents of this thing.

Instead, he put it back in the bag, pretending nothing happened.

He then woke up the man and interrogated him for some time. After some mind-torture, he was even able to gain all the dirt he had on all the factions that allowed him to survive till now, as well as the reason for why he was in this state.

'Apparently, a dragon had decided to wake up from its slumber and decided to attack a few villages and cities of the Leon kingdom. Therefore, the kingdom put a lot of resources into finding the nest of the dragon and forcing it to return by threatening it's offspring.'

'However, after days of searching, not only did they finally find the nest, but they found no-one guarding it. There were only 4 eggs laying quietly, along with a pile of weapons, dead-bodies, and artefacts.'

'Just when this party was returning with the spoils of war and 4 eggs to be used as bargaining chips, they were ambushed by the Resistance, who took away and egg, while this fellow somehow managed to escape with one of the eggs, leaving only 2 with the Leon Kingdom.'

With this understood, Luke stood up and executed the man on the spot and cleared up any evidence of his presence.

Instead, he silently, accepted the pending mission he had not rejected nor accepted earlier, and completed it instantly due to the knowledge he got from the man.

=================

Unique Mission- Strange

Just outside of the city of Dorgan, you sense lingering energy from a fierce battle, along with the scent of blood.

Task: Investigate this strange matter.

- Completed -

Mission difficulty: B-

Mission completion reward: 7500 exp, 1 dragon egg, 2 Talent points, Skill: Tame Lv 0

================

Seeing that the dragon egg was part of his reward, he unhesitantly took it and quickly left.

Soon he arrived at Dorgan. However, due to the looming danger of a dragon, he did not stop for more than a few minutes at a local bar and took some food and water with him before departing once more.

He eventually took a few hours rest in the wilderness, and just before sunrise, he set off once more.

His current destination was Leon capital, Sozra. Although most creatures were weaker than dragons, humans had an advantage called collective knowledge.

Although humans were short-lived, they all lived closely together, allowing society to develop at astonishing speed, while dragons, being their old and grumpy selves, lived solitary lives, rarely meeting each other except for mating.

Humans had quite the few trump cards against dragons, some of which included extremely high-tier weapons and artefacts left behind by their dragon slaying predecessors.

They also had a number of other options, one of which was to use dragon eggs as bargaining chips.

Therefore, the safest place from both the Resistance, and the dragon was Sozra, where the royal family lived!

However, he did not intend on arriving directly there. Instead, he needed to would stop at a few cities along the way and accumulate some exp.

After the B+ ranked mission, he had already collected enough exp to level up once, and attempt his race advancement, which did not need an advancement mission. But there was no reason to collect some more.

Furthermore, he wanted to extract some dragon blood once the egg hatched for his race advancement. Dragons were naturally mythical creatures, in fact, adult dragons were legendary creatures. However, Injecting legendary blood into a level 24 human would simply result in the decomposition of one's genes, resulting in either death of deformation.

However, an infant dragon was only a mythical creature. Only once they reached level 40 did they become legendary creatures. Using a mythical creature's blood before the level 45 race-evolution is the best thing to do. On the level 45, legendary blood was still a little risky, but acceptable.
