4 A Place to Stay

As I made my way back to the city of Gunriver I couldn't help but notice the vast plains with the only thing dotting the landscape to be the vast river running through the city and the large hill which the citadel of Jarl Jungar is at.

    The city was named after the river that runs through it. As for the reason why the river is called Gunriver, that is because the river runs at a powerful fast speed forcing the inhabitants of the area to build over the river. Even powerful cultivators would be crushed to death under the force of the rapid water. The river is also a major source of water after they figured out how to gather it. The water is extremely fresh and has the property of smoothing skin and increasing beauty. Though the water smooths skin and increasing beauty it does not do it much.

    Walking down the path to the barracks I see many beautiful women. Even though they are beautiful I couldn't help but think of how much more so the legate I saw earlier. If these women were country toppaling than her beauty was universe conquering. I also couldn't help from feeling sorry for her because commoners with those types of looks face many problems.

    On my way to the barracks I decided to note down the places filled with people and void of people. One specifically caught my attention. Not only it had an awkward name, but also a nice atmosphere and the small amount of customers there appeared obviously satisfied with their meals. The place was strangely called "I'm Sorry"

    Deciding to eat before going to join the legion I headed inside. Eating the food I ordered I could tell why the other customers are satisfied the food is amazing. I decided to strike a conversation with the owners.

"Hello ma'am can I ask you about yourself?"

asking this question helped me to learn that they are married. The woman Rina is 100 years of age and that her husband died in the civil war 13 years ago. She looks to only be in her early 20's considering that even normal people who don't follow the path of magic or qi cultivation, at the youngest, live to be almost one thousand years of age it makes complete sense. Looking at this woman I see she has universe conquering features. She has curves in all the right places and an angelic looking face.

I also managed to learn that she has a daughter that is 15 only a year older than me. She started the business to pay off protection fees and extra taxes that the nobles in charge of the area decided to implement. As the prince of the empire I obviously know what they are doing is illegal and plan to stop it. I learned that her daughter is part of General Tobias' legion and that the taxes and fees are not as heavy because she is of the legate level. I started to notice that Rina looked a bit familiar, pushing it off as nothing I continue my conversation with her.

"Mom I'm Back! We ran into trouble but managed to deal with it, I'm going to help out"

"Okay!"

"it's getting late late I should probably go find an inn"

"Don't worry about it, if you want you can stay here I just ask that you help out a bit. A young handsome man like you might bring in more young ladies."

Thank you ma'am I'll take up your offer. There will be moments of the day when I can't help out I will be joining the legion."

"That's okay. Elie come say hi to the new part time employee."

"Hello the names Elizabeth nice to meet you handsome"

"Always a good day when you meet such a beautiful mother daughter pair"

    That is when I noticed she is the legate that I saved earlier. Glad that I can see the two beauties every day I decided that I made one of the best ideas I could have made. I chatted some more with Rina and Liz before helping out around their restaurant before being lead to their extra room to stay for the night. I took out my mask and armor forgetting that Liz is in the room. "You're the one who saved me". Jumping in surprise i respond by nodding my head. She asked me what I plan on doing.

"In the morning I will join the legion and figure out which legate I will join, Then I will finish off the bandits I saved you from, and finally take care of the corrupt nobles in the area. After that I will help in the civil war then who knows what I will do."

"Please join my unit, it is 16784"

"Sure."

    After that final conversation she blushed before leaving. Being alone i realised how stupid I. I didn't wait for her to leave before taking my armor and mask out. Ha I laughed silently before finally going to bed.

    In the morning I took a shower, got dressed and left the room. "Thank you" I heard Liz told her mother what happened and what I did for her. Nodding at her while smiling. I further talked to Liz her blushing the whole time, whilst we worked around the restaurant the whole time. In the restaurant there are more young women because of the handsome me waiting the tables. There are more people in general because they want to feel the atmosphere that the seemingly perfect "couple" is making in the area. After working Liz headed to barracks and I headed to sign up for the legion.
