Kokabiel incident aftermath

Issei's performance created a stir in the supernatural world. So much so that Kokabiel's threat had gone virtually unnoticed.

From paradise itself, Michael and Gabriel could not believe how Issei had played with Kokabiel. Especially since Ddraig's new bearer appeared to be nothing more than a young teenager.

In the underworld, Sirzechs Lucifer and Serafall Leviatan were also astonished. The crimson Maou couldn't help but compare his adopted son to the red dragon, feeling that he might be inferior to the unknown boy. Serafall was glad to see that her younger sister had escaped from that dangerous one without receiving any scratches, she was grateful to Issei... and interested in him as well.

....

Back at Grigori, Issei returned to his training. Despite being a very powerful person even considering the entire supernatural world, he constantly continued his training. The enemies that had tried to kill him ten years ago were completely unknown to him, and he didn't know if he could really cope with them with his current strength.

Kokabiel had proved to be useless to the end, as he had no relevant information. Though it seemed to be true that Issei's enemies were involved, sponsoring him from behind.

"Issei!"

He stopped his training and turned toward the direction of the voice. They had been bothering him too much lately while he was training.

"Ray..."

Issei looked at his childhood friend, Raynare. One of the few Fallen Angels who were his age, and a student of Penemue.

"Do you need something?"

Issei asked somewhat annoyed. As much as she was his childhood friend in Grigori, he didn't like having his training interrupted for no apparent reason.

"No, it's just that everything's been too quiet since the incident with Kokabiel."

Raynare crossed her arms under her chest, making it look even bigger than it already was.

"Too bad he was nothing but a jerk to the end."

Issei said as his gaze inevitably drifted to the girl's breasts. They were far too large.

"But at least we know your enemies aren't just ghosts, they're there."

Raynare grabbed Issei's hand in an attempt to comfort him, to which he smiled in appreciation for her good intentions. She turned her face away in embarrassment and played with her fingers to calm her nerves.

"Hey, is it true that Zafkiel confessed to you the other day?"

"Yes... but I turned him down. I'm not interested in him."

"You didn't even hesitate?"

"Tch, he just wants to sleep with me. Men only think about sex."

Raynare had learned from Penemue to pick up on men's intentions, especially sexually. From the age of fourteen, she had already noticed the way they looked at her, all except Issei.

`Are you saying that I am not a man?'

But Issei misunderstood Raynare's actions.

[Haha, youth sure is a wonder].

`What's the matter with you now?'

"Oh, Penemue. Do you need anything?"

Issei asked the high commander approaching them.

"Azazel wants to see you, Issei."

It was true that Raynare was beautiful, but she was no match for Penemue. The raven-haired woman had a figure any woman would kill to have.

"Again?"

"Yes, apparently it's something to do with the Gremory princess."

`If I remember correctly, it should be the crimson-haired girl who was defeated by Kokabiel.´

"Why!?"

Raynare was the one who reacted. She had heard the rumors about Rias Gremory, who they said was one of the most beautiful young women in the entire underworld. She really didn't want Issei to go there.

"Tch, what a bother."

Though Issei obviously wasn't thinking the same thing as her.

"I'm going to talk to the old man, see what he says."

...

Issei entered Azazel's office without knocking, he had enough trust with the governor to be able to do that. He seemed to be going through letters sent to him by various factions, asking for explanations as to why he had hidden the Ddraig bearer for so long.

Azazel looked up from the texts when he heard the door open.

"You've arrived."

Issei nodded and sat down on one of the couches in the office.

"I suppose you can get an idea of the impact of your appearance to the rest of the factions..."

Issei simply shrugged, to him it was totally irrelevant. Azazel sighed at this reaction.

"This is a disaster. You humiliated Kokabiel, and I don't blame you for that, but you also made a fool of Sirchezs Lucifer's adopted son. Did you really have to go that far?"

"I only told the truth, why should that be such a big deal."

Azazel sighed again and rubbed his forehead hard. He didn't blame Issei for his actions, far from it. It was simply that Vali was...

"The old devils are upset with you. It seems that this Vali guy is their pride, and now they're demanding stern explanations."

What Azazel hated most were all the paperwork and exaggerated pretensions. It had just been a quarrel between teenagers, why were the old men picking on them?

Azazel pointed to the pile of papers on his desk.

"These are all letters from the heads of the devils' houses asking for explanations. What a nuisance! They are idiots. I understand Gremory or Sitri asking for explanations, but it's just that I have letters even from the Dantalions asking for them. I didn't even remember that the house of the Dantalions still existed!"

Issei nodded his head, turning a deaf ear to Azazel's complaints and the laughter Ddraig was letting out inside. Azazel was upset because he had a job after a decision he made, so why should that be Issei's problem?

Azazel sighed again and handed Issei a pamphlet.

"Never mind. I have a new job for you. Sirzechs has asked the favor of you to act as a bodyguard for his younger sister and her subordinates. They don't want me to be in danger again, or so he tells me. Most likely they want to keep an eye on you for a while so they can find out more about you."

"You seem to have a good relationship with the Maou. Oh, there seem to be a couple of interesting people here."

Issei's eyes focused on the black-haired girl combed in a ponytail and the girl with short albino hair. They were Baraqiel's daughter and Kuroka's younger sister.

"Do I really have to go?"

Issei asked again. Maybe some miracle would occur and save him from this great annoyance.

"Everything is ready for you to go the day after tomorrow? Your house is still standing, you know."

Issei looked at Azazel in amazement. Inside he felt a special warmth but the care the governor had taken with him. He practically thought of him as his father.

"I guess I'll have to. Besides, after being in Kuoh last time, I've realized that I miss Japan. Oh, and if there's no trouble I'll go straight over tomorrow."
