I stared at the demon who was frowning at me in displeasure, and I was not sure what to say.

Technically, Tart was under the effect of my pheromones, so he shouldn't harm me. At least, I hoped that was the case.

"Tart, I didn't think you would still be here," I said and glanced at Vesper, hoping she won't blow up this incoming lie. "We got inside and ended up in a good spot that many coveted. I feared that if we left, we wouldn't be able to get back in. How much time did it pass?"

"We don't count time here," Tart said stiffly.

Oh, right. It's the immortal thing. They don't bother with hours, days, and other small units.

The uncertainty urged me to rush home.

"Well, I should get going."

He frowned. "Where?"
