10 TO THE NEW BEGINNINGS...

"What?" Lucas was confused. I laughed because I knew what he was thinking. "No! Not like that, let's just talk and watch movies and have fun. I'm tired of everything! I just want to relax".Lucas agreed and was laughing now because of what he did earlier.

*Author's POV*

Lucas and Diana, both were laughing at each other. But what Diana didn't know was somebody was watching her from the kitchen and that person didn't like the view. Diana took Lucas to her room. She gave him some comfortable clothes for the night. They both sat on the floor and were leaning on the bed.

*Diana's POV*

I bought some snacks for us and we started to watch a movie. It was our favourite movie that we used to watch when we were kids. Even though we are eighteen-year-olds and are almost adults. Movies like this are always nostalgic. We were talking, eating, and chuckling while watching the movie. This was the only moment when I felt like we were seven-year-olds again and we're having fun. I felt so normal after so long. Since the day I moved into the cottage I haven't had a normal day. The basement, wolves, Sebastian, the rainy day, nightmares and the basilisk. Everything was haunting me. But I was comfortable with Lucas then.

The main reason why I told Lucas to stay with me for the night was that I was afraid of being alone at night. I was scared of having another nightmare.

*Lucas's POV*

We were binging movies. It was already our third movie. I was about to say something when I felt something on my shoulder. Diana was sleeping. I was worried that she might not be able to sleep, because of what happened today. I looked at her hand and was sad. She was a sensitive person. How was she managing to bear the pain of the wound? I switched off the TV and carefully picked her up in bridal style and tucked her in the bed.

She was sleeping peacefully. I was taking the moment to admire her beauty. I said in a low voice "It had been five years. I didn't see you for only five years, but you changed so much. You are not the same. You've matured enough. But one thing has drastically changed, your beauty. You're prettier than before. Your beauty amazes me. You were my first sweetheart but I have fallen for you all over again. I like you a lot, Diana. I hope I can say this to you one day when you're awake" I was about to sleep on the small sofa she had in her room when I saw Diana was murmuring something. I couldn't hear her properly. She was feeling uneasy, she was sweating. I got worried when I came closer to her and she kept saying " Please don't leave me alone, please don't." I held her hand and said, "Hey I'm right here. Don't worry. I'll never leave you, ever!". She calmed down in her sleep but suddenly her eyes opened and they were shining in turquoise, she slept again as if nothing happened. I was startled, her eyes looked pretty in that colour but why were her eyes glowing in that colour? She held my hand tightly and murmured in her sleep "Stay beside me". She wasn't letting go of my hand. So I slept there only.

*Sebastian's POV*

I was worried about Emilia. I know she is strong, but using all her powers might not be safe for her. She slept peacefully, when I was looking at her I was thinking about what I witnessed a few minutes ago. Diana and Lucas were enjoying each other's company. She even asked him to stay with him for the night! What did she mean by that? Also, I was feeling guilty. No matter what I shouldn't have shouted at her. This was the first time that I was feeling this kind of emotion. I have never actually liked humans, I came to their realm often to enjoy their luxuries. I didn't like them because of their greedy nature. Diana was a Guardian, but she hasn't transformed into one yet. Guardians were half-bloods.

Whatever emotion I was feeling, it was eating me up. I checked Emilia and she was sound asleep. I went to check up on Diana as I was worried and because of this weird emotion lingering in my heart. I went upstairs, her room's door was slightly open. I saw the view and was downhearted. I saw Lucas and Diana sleeping together while holding hands. She felt comfortable around him. I left feeling weird.

*Diana's POV*

I woke up and saw Lucas sleeping while he was holding my hand. I was mesmerized by his morning face. His lips were parted and were sound asleep. He was sitting on the floor and sleeping. ' Did he sleep like that the whole night?' I felt bad. I remembered having a dream. But I couldn't remember what was it about? I was slowly taking out my hand from his, making sure I didn't wake him up and, I failed. He was half asleep, his eyes were half opened and he was looking at me, he looked so cute. He said, "Good Morning". His morning raspy voice sent shivers down my body. I greeted him back and saw the clock. It was 7:45 AM. I was late! Today was my first day. I bounced from my bed and Lucas chuckled at my behaviour. He left.

While I was taking a shower, I saw my right hand. My birthmark which was faded was darkening. I was confused. But I didn't have time to think about all this. I wore comfortable clothes for the first day. When I came downstairs I realized everybody had left already. I thought to myself, Starting over, in theory, it's simple you begin your life again, sometimes in a different way, putting your past behind. But it's not as easy as it sounds. Moving on means letting things go. Things that are close to you, easy, secure and things that matter. Today will be the first attempt to start over! By making new friends and socializing maybe! Hopefully, I pass it.

I took out a sandwich and took off for college. When I reached college, I felt happy! I breathed in the fresh air and exhaled by saying "Finally!" I went inside when I felt a sharp pain in my hand and head. I hissed. I somehow managed to bear the pain and went to my lecture. I was late! I squatted and walked down slowly and reached for a seat. I sat and the guy beside me was giving me looks. Professor didn't notice me coming into the class, so he didn't say anything.

I saw Lucas! Did he take the same lecture as me? Beside him, I saw Sebastian, Emilia and three more guys sitting together. They had a different aura around them. The class was over shortly. While I was packing back my stuff, the guy beside me was staring at me. I looked at him and gave him a serious expression. He extended his hand and said "Caleb". I ignored him and gave him a cold shoulder because I didn't like him. I attended a few lectures and I wasn't at my best today. I was feeling tired as hell. As if something was consuming my energy. But somehow I managed to make a friend. Her name was Samantha. She was great, we shared the same interests and she was a fun human to be around. Lucas tried looking for me but I didn't want to face him and Sebastian!

But that guy Caleb kept annoying me. I swear I wanted to whip his ass. We all were asked to gather in the Hall. The dean announced, "We have organized a Freshers, for all the newcomers. It will take place next week. I have selected a few newcomers from the given names to organise the freshers! Samatha, Diana, Lucas, Sebastian, Caleb, Asher, Crystal & Jade. These eight can choose the theme and are the main planners and everyone else is supposed to give a hand! Okay? Enjoy yourselves, have a great day. Dismissed." I pinched Samatha and whined, "Why did you give my name in the box?" She replied" I had a very important reason" " And what is it, my dear Samantha?" I said sarcastically. The 'reason' was really reasonable she said "Look There! Asher is also a planner! I really like him. I mean the moment I saw him, I fell for him. He is so beautiful. I was dumbfounded, anyways we had to go to a meeting to decide on a theme!

We all sat together. Samantha was about to abandon me and was going to take a seat next to Asher. I stopped her from doing so and she was a whiny baby. We all were silent when Caleb broke the silence "Since we all are new, why don't we introduce ourselves first?" Everyone started to introduce themselves. I went first "So...Hey! My name is Diana and I'm a history major!". Samantha said" Hi, I'm Samantha and I like flowers!" likewise "I'm Caleb, I'm in the same major as Diana". "I'm Asher! I like reading and I also like flowers. My favourite flower is Anemone". Samantha was right; he really had a very positive aura around him. "I'm Jade and I like to travel into the woods." Lucas and Sebastian went next Lucas was all polite but Sebastian had this dark aura around him. He kept staring at me. The tension between me and Sebastian was extreme when Lucas asked him to introduce himself and he said "I'm Sebastian and I hate humans". I was stunned when he said that as if he wasn't one. Lucas gave him the look but he ignored it.

We all started discussing the Ball. I didn't like the ideas they were giving so I just threw out my idea to them and said "Can't we do a Masquerade themed Ball?". They all started to discuss again and agreed. I was frustrated. We all started to leave and again I felt the pain but this time it was stronger. I wanted to puke. I ran to the washroom and Sebastian noticed that and he ran after me.

*Sebastian's POV*

I saw Diana running towards the washroom and got anxious. I followed her, I couldn't go in since it was the girl's washroom but I heard Diana puke. I went in anyways. She didn't look good, so I held her hair in a pony. She was exhausted, I let go of her hair and she cleaned up after, I asked "Are you okay? Why do you look so pale?" I was about to touch her forehead but she removed my hand and said "Why do you care anyway? I don't get it right? I'm annoying to you, right?" She was mad at me. With that, she left.

*Diana's POV*

Luckily all my lectures were finished. I went home, Lucas tried talking to me but I ignored him. I felt bad. I went home and was way too tired. I couldn't keep my eyes open. I dozed off for five hours. When I woke up the sun was already down, I freshened up and ordered some food. It came after thirty minutes. After eating I was cleaning up when I felt Someone was standing behind me, it was my…father.

How did he come in? How did he know I was here? He had a knife in his hand. He started to come near me as I asked, "W-w-what ar-r-e you doing here? H-how d-d-id you even come in?" He replied "Your mother, I loved her but she… she kept a child from her first love… I was madly in love so I didn't say anything. I cherished you at first as well. But your mother only cared about you! YOU WERE THE REASON WE SPLIT UP. YOU WEREN'T EVEN MY CHILD BUT I STILL PAMPERED YOU!" He was yelling. He broke everything in the kitchen. He was behaving like an animal. I couldn't believe a single word coming out of his mouth. He was coming closer, his huge figure and maniac expressions were scaring the heck out of me. My back touched the wall and he kept coming closer. I was in tears now. He was about to stab me and I flinched and shouted.HELP!!

But nothing happened. When I looked in front there was no one. It was completely fine. Nothing was broken. I was sweating. Why am I having illusions like this? I was scared. I wanted to call somebody but I couldn't. I wasn't able to sleep the whole night. I kept thinking about it.

Just like that dawn came. I was worn out. But somehow I managed to get ready. I was walking to college. It was way too early today so I thought walking to the college would be better. The morning air was fresh but someone was following me. I thought it was just my wild imagination but when I looked back nobody was there. I looked in front and somebody put a black cloth around my face and I couldn't see anything.....
