1 The SuperMall System.

"Another day of no customers," Claude muttered as he dragged out a bench outside his shop and sat on it. It was a bright sunny day where gusts of cold breeze filled the air, but Claude had no mood to embrace it.

It has been well over five days since he opened the shop, but there were no customers at all. It should be expected since his shop was located near the border of Black Dragon Empire, but it has been five whole days already!

To make things worse, his shop was one of the only five buildings located near the border. It could be considered as a blessing since the border is where the influx of people come from and he has less competitors, however, people from both the Black Dragon Empire and Mystica Kingdom are not allowed to pass through the gates due to reasons that Claude doesn't know.

As the cool breeze brushed through Claude's body, he suddenly felt his stomach rumbling.

'Oh god...' he thought, 'Do I even have money left to buy food?'

If the memories that came to him when he was reincarnated serves to be true, then the previous owner of the body-who was also conveniently named Claude—should've spent all of his money trying to buy this building in order to open up a shop. However, it was also precisely that reason that he died. In order to buy this shop, this world's Claude had to work odd jobs day-in and day-out. After he successfully bought it, he didn't stop working as he wanted a capital for his newly owned shop. When he had a sufficient capital, he bought some things for the shop including the things he will sell. Due to his high ambition, he worked even harder... then he died.

As a result, the owner of the coal mine in which he died at compensated him for overworking when he woke up. But by that point, the modern-world Claude had already took over this world's Claude's body.

"That cheapskate. I, no, this world's Claude literally died by overworking in his coal mine, but all he gave me for compensation is a measly thirty coppers..." Claude cursed under his breath.

In this new world where he reincarnated in, copper was the lowest currency to be found. Given the previous owner's lanky physique, Claude was certain that he would die if he didn't take care of his new body properly. Hence he bought healthy food, which made a pretty big hole in his pockets.

Feeling that his hunger is starting to consume him, Claude reached into his pockets to see how much money he had left, which is likely not much.

And as he guessed, it is indeed not much.

"Two coppers!?"

Claude felt dumbfounded by the fact that he only had two coppers left. Just when he was about to flip out over the matter, he heard a robotic voice ring in his ears.

[The System has finished installing]

[Initializing... Initialization complete]

[Binding to Host...]

[Beep! The System has successfully binded.]

It took a moment for Claude to fully grasp what he just heard in his head, but when he did, he was excited beyond belief. If he didn't hear wrongly, the robotic voice mentioned something along the lines of 'system' in its words. That in itself made Claude feel that his five days of suffering in this foreign world was worth it if he gained a system.

Claude looked from side to side before he discreetly entered his shop once more.

"Yes!" he exclaimed whilst jumping up high and raising his fist.

"I wonder what type of system this is..."

"Given the current world I'm in, it would be either a face-slapping system, a cultivation system or-"

Before Claude could finish his sentence, the system interrupted, [Welcome to the SuperMall System.]

"Wait, what? What system did you say you were?" Claude heard the words 'mall' and 'super' so he thought that he was hearing things.

[The SuperMall System.]

The moment he heard the system utter those words, Claude felt that the air in his shop suddenly froze and time slowed to a crawl as he stood there motionlessly.

Claude did some breathing exercises he found on the internet in his previous world so as to calm himself down before asking the most important question, "Can you... make me be overpowered?"

What use was a system if it couldn't make its host overpowered as frick!? If there really was a system like that, then it would be better if it self-destructed.

[User level too low. Do more quests and level up in order to find the answers for your questions.]

He felt it was reasonable so Claude proceeded to ask a related question, "What can you do for your Host?"

[The Host will do tasks for the System and in exchange, the Host will be rewarded an assortment of items including, but not limited to: materialistic items, abilities, or superhuman strength. In addition, the System could also provide the Host's needs in exchange for Baltrimarch's currency.]

Reading the contents of the message, Claude let out a sigh of relief, 'At least I could still become OP, albeit very slowly.'

However, he still felt that something was amiss, that something was still missing from this system, "What about my newbie gift pack? Isn't every system supposed to come with a gift pack for its host?"

From his experience in reading system novels, a newbie gift pack is a must. It not only provides the host with an extra advantage, it could also motivate the host.

[Ding! Newbie Gift Pack. Open/Store.]

'There it is,' Claude's lips curved into a smile, "Open it."

The very second that he finished those words, his vision was suddenly engulfed by a brilliant white light.

What could my reward be? A pill that could instantly make me overpowered? Maybe I will gain the ability to steal skills from someone! Or... a flying sword! Regardless, any of those will be fine for me!

'Hmmm, why does the animation take so long? Was their budget for the SFX department high?'

[Newbie Gift Pack Rewards: Professional Make-Up Set: x50 Make-Up Experience: Elevated to Legend Rank.]
