2 Chapter 1 The Neighborhood Cat

A hundred and fifty years have passed since I woke up and finally decided to step out to the world after I spent many years of slumber while hiding to the ends of the world. There is still doubt in my heart asking myself as I walk out of my cave, 'is it really alright to give myself another chance to live peacefully among others?'

For me who is an immortal who never trust anyone in my whole existence, how can I easily trust a child I just raised for a mere hundred of years? Am I being foolish by allowing myself to follow this kid to the living realm where I already swear not to show my face again?

But what can I do now, it is too late to turn back now because from the point where I allowed him to left me, it only offer me a choice to follow to ensure that he will never bring chaos and to protect him in case the whole world turn against him.

As I travel around the world to search for him, I learned that the world I saw back then drastically changed and everything is not how I used to know. The endless war, the countless sacrifice of lives and bloodshed everywhere have left no trace as if it never happened. Humans achieved freedom and peace and vampires and half bloods managed to finally coexist with them without being exposed and so I felt a little relieved thinking that maybe my sacrifice was worth it.

It took me a few years jumping around countries searching for that kid until I finally felt his strong presence in a country named Japan. This country in which I feel somehow familiar as a little fragment of my memory emerged. A memory of my final moment of peace.

It was midnight when I arrived to a certain neighborhood and there was nobody outside anymore. I may look like a suspicious person walking around in the middle of the night so instead of alarming people, I decided to transform into a cat while searching for that brat.

Walking around a huge neighborhood trying to find a single kid is too much of a hassle although there is an easy way to find him by calling his contract seal but I rather not use it and alarm any being around here. After jumping over half of all the roofs around here I suddenly feel an extreme danger when I heard wings flapping nearby and when I turn around, what I saw was a huge owl approaching with its claws aiming to grab me.

I immediately run so fast that I forgot that I am at the roof edge and so I slip down landing into a car parked on the corner of the street. The impact is too great and I can feel my head spinning and then realized that I turn back in my human form and to my shock I saw someone in the car looking directly at me. Due to panic of the sound of wings approaching again I have no time think and immediately transform back into my cat form and make another run from the owl.
