"So? How did the mission go?" Naruto inquired as he pulled a chair for Haku to sit in it.
Haku nodded in affirmation and replied, walking to sit on the chair Naruto pulled out from the table set "It went great. No unexpected variables, just a simple escort mission with some thugs along the way."
"Is that so?" Naruto said as he chuckled and continued "Thanks for your hard work, and rest up. I'll cook for today."
Haku nodded without any hesitation, she replied "Then, I won't hold back."
Naruto proceeded to the kitchen and cooked Haku and him some food. After the meal, they again slept in the same bed with occasional flirting.
Next morning, Naruto waved his hand goodbye, and went separate ways from Haku, who was going to do more missions.
Naruto didn't wanna go out because he was too lazy, so he made 3 clones to train for him. While he also talked to Kurama "Hey, give me some of your chakra."
Kurama simply gave in to Naruto's request without replying, they had a deal and he had to deliver his end of the deal.
Naruto felt his chakra come back and collected more natural energy to balance it out. Feeling satisfied with his recovered chakra. He went to scout the whole village again, he was feeling it, more and more.
The pain in his chakra pathways… it was getting worse. In case he dies, he has to prepare a plan for Konoha. Although Hashirama and Tobirama were in Konoha, they won't be here forever, they were officially dead so Konoha shouldn't depend on them.
After scouting the entirety of Konoha, he found the 5 pillar location for his [Elemental Guardian Formation of Heaven and Earth.]
He directly went to the hokage's office with his [Flying Thunder God Jutsu.]
"Hm?" Tobirama and Hiruzen said simultaneously as they were inside Konoha's office.
Naruto raised his hand and said "Hi! Hiru-jii and Tobi-jii!"
"Hiru-jii?" Hiruzen asked in confusion.
Naruto didn't explain and asked Tobirama, "Tobi-jii. You invented [Flying Thunder God Jutsu] right? So you must have quite some knowledge about Fuinjutsu."
Tobirama felt flattered and nodded "That's right, do you have any questions?"
Naruto shook his head and continued "I'm planning to set up a grand array that's made up with a bunch of seals to protect Konoha from the outside. I named it [Elemental Guardian Formation of Heaven and Earth!] Cool right?!"
The faces of Hiruzen and Tobirama twitched simultaneously thinking 'Too long!'
Hiruzen sighed and asked "and why have you come up with such a plan?"
"Really? You're asking me that? Hiru-jii? Look." Naruto pointed to the map on the wall in the Hokage's office that caught the attention of both Hiruzen and Tobirama.
Naruto continued to explain now that they're focused on the map "Kiri is protected by the mist, Iwa by stones, Kumo by the clouds, and Suna by the sand. They have different surroundings that they get used to with time making it advantageous for them in terms of war. What about Konoha? Konoha is in the heart of the Land of Fire, surrounded by trees. Enemies don't need to get used to it, and although Konoha has set traps in the surroundings, the enemies are still on the same grounds since Konoha doesn't have any unique climate."
Hiruzen and Tobirama nodded, and that does seem the case.
Naruto continued to explain "During Hashi-jii and Tobi-jii's era, it was something that didn't need to be thought of considering their strength but now, Hiru-jii is not in his prime, and yet the village defenses is filled with holes that doesn't even make it a bit advantageous to Konoha if war happens near Konoha."
Hiruzen and Tobirama both agreed on Naruto's insight. Was he really a 12 year old? Thinking about such things…
Naruto smiled as he sat down on the couch in the office and continued, "So help me out."
Hiruzen nodded and replied "I'll deploy all available forces to support your operation, tell me when you're done discussing the formation with Sensei."
Naruto signaled with his hand, "Money?"
A nerve appeared on Hiruzen's forehead and replied "Alright, alright! You can take another billion from Konoha."
"Yes!" Naruto celebrated.
Tobirama approached Naruto and sat on the opposite couch in front of him. "So? Do you have a blueprint?"
Naruto scratched his head and replied "That… actually… not yet, but I already have a mind map. We're taking [Four Red Yang Formation] as an example. I already marked 5 pillars in Konoha."
"Hm? That formation requires 4 ninjas with the Hokage level reserves. Where will we get such chakra?" Tobirama frowned at Naruto's idea.
Naruto smiled and replied "Relax, Tobi-jii. We can simply make a chakra reserve."
"This…" Tobirama rubbed his chin as he thought, it might be possible?
Naruto continued "Didn't you see? The seal on Tsuna-ba's forehead. I got an idea from that and also a friend of mine who thought of the same idea because her chakra reserves are pretty low."
Tobirama agreed on the idea with the thought 'Why didn't Naruto want to become hokage? If he did, no one would oppose it with his remarkable ideas.'
Naruto pulled a scroll out of his ninja pocket and released a huge paper to write the blueprint on. With 5 corners he marked them on each side. With each side with the kanji of each element.
It didn't mean anything, it was simply a cool name for the pillars. Fire pillar… water pillar… cool…? Right…? Somehow…?
Writing the seals that would be applied on each pillar, he asked for Tobirama's insight on this formation "So? What do you think? Tobi-jii?"
"Hm… it should be good but you have to move this here and there…"
"Oh… I see… that's indeed more efficient…" then he added the chakra reserves seal in the middle. It will be activated in the Hokage's office.
After planning with Tobirama for a few hours. Naruto said his goodbye to him and Hiruzen.
Tobirama asked in curiosity "Saru… Do you think you can convince Naruto to become hokage?"
With a look of incredulousness, and finally sighing, Hiruzen replied "I'm wondering that too… It's probably more plausible to get his wife, Yuki Haku to become Hokage but she's not a born citizen of Konoha… on top of that I don't even know if she'd be willing to become Hokage if she was offered the position."
Tobirama affirmed "Is that so? That's a shame… If you make him Hokage, Konoha will be set to exist even after he passes away unlike the Uzushio. He plans with such detail and long term. He might even be able to plan for the next 500 years if he was willing."
Hiruzen sighed but agreed as he looked into the distance by the window.
Naruto went on to live his life, going and from into his house and the office. After a few days, Tobirama and Naruto each led a team to set up the formation.
1 month later…
It was the time for the 5th Hokage, Senju Tsunade Coronation.
The whole village cheered in celebration for the new Hokage. Meanwhile, Naruto who was watching with a grin on his face suddenly grasps his chest in pain with an indescribable face 'Again?'
The pain was getting stronger and stronger, he could balance out 4 elements with his chakra but it was still barely manageable. He fears… no… he knows when he achieves the 5 elements, something will happen to his body, rendering him into a sealed state of some sort or worse case scenario… he's going to die.
[Shadow Clone Jutsu]
He materialized a clone to look for a place secluded from most of the population.
Haku beside him saw him grasp his chest with one hand, as if helding in some kind of pain. She asked in worry "What's wrong? Naruto?"
Naruto shrugged and replied "Nothing."
"Is that so…?" Haku replied, as if not believing him. So she continued to ask "Where's your clone going?"
"I just sent him to do something important for me, Don't ask okay?" Naruto smiled in reply.
Haku just nodded in worry. What was Naruto hiding?
After the celebration, came night time. Naruto was gasping for air in difficulty inside his room 'At this rate, it'll come soon… I have to say proper goodbyes…'
Naruto thought before sleeping and came the next day. He was a bit surprised to feel the chakra of Haku, Jiraiya, Hashirama, Tobirama, Hiruzen, Tsunade, Sasuke, Sakura, and many more first thing in the morning. But then I realized 'I see… It's day 10 of the 10th moon. It's my birthday. I'm 13 today huh?'
As he opened the door from his room to the living room, popping sounds erupted.
Pop! Pop! Pop!
"Happy birthday! Naruto!" they all said out loud at the same time.
Naruto smiled gently seeing their enthusiasm, as the confetti fell down from their celebration cannons. He replied "Thank you."
Haku carrying a birthday cake arrived in front of Naruto with the candles burning. "Make a wish, Naruto."
Naruto nodded, then closed his eyes. 'I wish everyone will be okay even if I'm gone… nah… What am I thinking? I wish for a peaceful life… If eternal peace is not possible, I wish for peace even if it's just in my lifetime.'
Fuuu!
Haku asked as she chuckled, "What'd you wish for?"
Naruto smiled and replied "It's a secret. If I say it out loud it wouldn't come true right?"
"Is that so? Again, Happy birthday, Naruto." Haku said
Without hesitation, Naruto pulled Haku close and kissed her on the lips in front of everyone.
"Mp!" Haku blushed uncontrollably as Naruto kissed her in front of such a crowd, if one could die from embarrassment she'd have died right here and now!
"Yo! That's my Godson!" Jiraiya
"Jiraiya! What are you teaching Naruto!" Tsunade
"Hahaha! Great job kid!" Hashirama
"Great job indeed." Tobirama
"Kyahhh!" Sakura
"What a drag…" Shikamaru
"How great, I wish I was the one…" Ino
"Munch! Munch! Munch!" Chouji
