Jiraiya was dumbfounded as he smacked Naruto in the head. His arm guard was full of blade scratches.
"Ah… Sorry about that, Perverted Sage. The Wind did that on their own." Naruto apologized as he scratched the back of his head in embarrassment.
Jiraiya was full of curiosity towards this new type of Sage Mode and asked "Can you order the wind to do as you please?"
Naruto nodded "To some extent, yes."
"To some extent?" Jiraiya asked
Naruto continued "Yes. I use Wind Jutsu without seals. Just like this." and demonstrated as he controlled his Chakra infused with Natural Wind Energy to form a little dragon shaped wind.
Jiraiya was surprised a bit but not really after what he just saw and asked "How much Natural Energy did you consume when you threw what do you call it [Rasenshuriken]?"
Naruto replied "Yup! [Rasenshuriken]. It's the combination of Chakra and Natural Wind Energy. It consumed about ¼ of my overall chakra."
"Hm… overall chakra?! It didn't just consume Natural Energy?!" Jiraiya asked in shock. When he uses Sage Mode, most jutsus consume a ton of Natural Energy so he can't sustain it.
Naruto nodded and asked "How do you go into sage mode? Perverted Sage?"
"Why are you asking… but you probably have your reason so I'll tell you. We have a core in the middle of our body that serves as a container for the chakra right? I mix in Sage Mode."
Naruto asked in confusion "So you can't maintain it eternally?"
Jiraiya also looked at him in confusion as he didn't get what Naruto was trying to tell him "That's right. I can only maintain it for 5 minutes at most."
Naruto burst out laughing as he came into a realization "Hahahaha! I'm so glad I didn't ask you how to balance the energies!"
"Why?" Jiraiya asked in more confusion
Naruto then coughed and explained "Our Sage Mode is vastly different. I can maintain it indefinitely as long as I don't run out of chakra."
"What?!?!?!" Jiraiya was genuinely shocked, interacting with this boy gave him more shock than he ever had in his life. And asked with a shaking voice "H-How is that possible???"
Naruto proceeded to explain and Jiraiya brought out a handbook to note "Firstly, if you contain the Natural Energy in your core, it'll slowly leak out because it's a foreign energy in the body."
Jiraiya knew that according to his knowledge so he nodded
Naruto continued "During my image training, I succeeded in doing that but found it inefficient. So I made the Natural Energy fit in my body like it's a part of my body."
Jiraiya nodded and asked "And how can you do that?"
With a smile, Naruto said "Simple. Make it flow through your Chakra Pathway System."
Jiraiya frowned and replied "But the Natural Energy can't mix with Chakra."
Naruto laughed and said "Then let it flow outside like a layer outside the chakra."
Jiraiya came to a realization and took notes in his handbook.
As he was taking notes he said "Although it'll act as if it's a part of the body, it's still a foreign chakra so when it runs out you'll have to replenish it yourself."
Naruto nodded and replied "Although Chakra will replenish, Natural Energy will not as it's still a foreign energy. It will live in the Chakra Pathway System like it's a part of it but the body can't produce its own Natural Wind Energy."
Jiraiya nodded as it made sense.
Suddenly a bunch of ninjas arrived in their location with Hiruzen taking the lead with his full body armor "Hm? Jiraiya? What happened here? A huge amount of chakra exploded from here! And where's Naruto?"
Jiraiya who was taking notes heard Hiruzen and replied with a laugh "Oh that explosion? It was this idiot here, Naruto."
Naruto also chimed in and said "Ahahaha… Sorry about that, Jii-chan."
"Naruto?" Hiruzen squinted his eyes and saw Naruto's face. It had the blue marking of a sage, and a tattoo on his forehead and looked astonished but got a hold of himself, he couldn't talk about it for now so he ordered "You guys can go ahead, it's not something dangerous."
The ninjas with him kneeled down and replied "Yes! Sandaime-sama!" then disappeared.
Hiruzen made sure they're gone before he asked "Did you master Sage Mode? Naruto?"
Naruto smirked and replied "Hehe~ Technically."
"Technically?" Hiruzen frowned and turned to Jiraiya "You. Explain."
Jiraiya's face twitched as Hiruzen treated him as some translator of a foreign language but explained anyway "He didn't master Toad Sage Mode."
Hiruzen nodded and replied "I can see that. What Sage Mode did he master?"
Jiraiya sighed and said helplessly "Wind Sage Mode."
"Wind?" Hiruzen looked at Naruto not knowing whether to be astonished, dumbfounded, or amazed. Oh yeah, they were all the same thing.
"How is that possible?" Hiruzen asked in disbelief
Jiraiya sighed again and replied "You're asking but who should I ask?"
Naruto looked at them in confusion and said "Shouldn't you ask me?"
Hiruzen's mouth was slightly opened at Naruto's dumb reply but it made sense so he asked "How is it possible?"
"Only a genius like me will understand." Naruto bragged blowing his own horn, getting a glare from both Hiruzen and Jiraiya.
Naruto chuckled at their reactions but explained "It's because if Toad Natural Energy Exists, so will Elemental Natural Energy, which in my opinion, should be stronger than Toad Sage Mode so… I thought of it, tried it, and succeeded."
Both of their faces twitched as they thought simultaneously 'How is that an explanation?'
"Well… the theory about it is, There are different types of Natural Energy right?"
They both nodded as they listened
"The most known are the 3 holy animals to enter sage mode. So there are different types too. I'm guessing, Perverted Sage trained in Sage Mode in the way of the toad, that's why he never questioned the other sage modes.
When you know one of the ways that has been paved by the ancestors it's a bit difficult to think about other possibilities such as Elemental Sage Mode.
As I sensed different types of Natural Energy, the Elemental Natural Energies are more chaotic than Animal Natural Energies.
If I were to compare… Fire, Wind and Lightning Natural Energies are 5x more difficult to handle than Toad Natural Energy. Meanwhile, Water and Earth are much calmer but still about 2x more chaotic because of its density than Toad Natural Energy so I don't blame you for not thinking about it at all."
Hiruzen and Jiraiya who were naturally at the top of the list of the strongest and experienced ninjas in the world nodded as they got what Naruto was saying, they sighed simultaneously looking at Naruto in amazement for his innovative thoughts.
Growl!
Naruto's stomach growled in hunger as he blushed in embarrassment "Haha… How long was I image training for? Perverted Sage?"
Jiraiya chuckled hearing Naruto's stomach growl as he was still human. That's good in his opinion and replied "approximately 32 hours."
"32 hours?!?! Not good! Haku must be worried!"
"Haku?" Jiraiya looked at him in confusion as he didn't know who that was.
Hiruzen chuckled and explained "That's Naruto's wif… Um girlfriend for now but they act like they're newlyweds whenever I see them talking."
Jiraiya looked at Naruto in astonishment and asked in disbelief "You have a girlfriend at the age of 12?"
Naruto rubbed his index finger to the bottom of his nose and replied "That's right! I'm guessing you're not the popular kid when you were younger, Perverted Sage."
Jiraiya's face twitched and Hiruzen laughed "Hahahaha! He got you there, Jiraiya."
Naruto sensed the location of Haku's Flying Thunder God Jutsu Mark, it was repeatedly infused with chakra. 'Looks like Haku's been really worried since I didn't come back last night.'
Naruto sighed and said "Well… I'm gonna go home. You wanna come? Godfather? And Jiichan?"
Jiraiya in surprise asked "You know that the name came from me?"
Naruto chuckled and replied "Of course, I read dad's copy of the 'Tales of a Gutsy Ninja'. Although it was cliche, I'm a huge fan."
Jiraiya laughed in embarrassment "Hahaha! I see… That was one of my earlier works so it was full of cliche. I'm glad you liked it."
Naruto said calmly as he recalled "If there is such a thing as peace, I'll seize it huh…"
"Stupid brat! Stop quoting from my novel!" Jiraiya scolded to hide his embarrassment
Naruto chuckled and replied as he looked at the skies "Why not? It was cool… there is indeed peace but there's no such thing as eternal peace, there will always be times of war no matter what the era. The natural cycle of life is for there to be peace, war, peace, war, and repeat."
Jiraiya and Hiruzen silently agreed as they also knew the cruel truth of the world.
