45 The Truth Behind Runic Symbols

Many eons ago, from the time when the Great World had been formed, there was the existence of Demonic Beasts. The human race had not arrived on the Great World yet. Thus, the rulers of the world back then were the Demonic Beasts. The Demonic Beasts lived a flourishing life in the wild, but with the growing intelligence of certain high ranked beasts, there came the construction of a beast community. A Demonic Beast race Civilisation was formed.

The problem in the past was similar to the present. Those powerful demonic beasts were able to control the lower ranked beasts with sheer willpower. In the case of those demonic beasts that had similar strength, the powerful demonic beasts were not able to use their willpower to submit them. There needed to be a method of communication between the smarter and stronger beasts.

For that, came the era of a Demonic Beast Emperor. This demonic beast emperor was by far the smartest and most talented Demonic Beast to exist in the history of the Great World. It was he that revolutionised his civilisation. He had created a form of communication for his subordinates, a set of characters that could be placed in order to create words. He formulated words and gave them meaning, allowing everyone in his civilisation to convey their thoughts. The emperor had given himself a name to distinguish himself from his subordinates. His name was Yuan.

At the time of Yuan's reign, the Great World was not solely ruled by him. He had enemies surrounding his Beast kingdom. Unlike Yuan, the other Demonic Beast rulers were all crudely controlling their underlings. Knowing that there was an eminent disaster lurking on his horizons, Yuan knew that he had to do something to break this equilibrium. Those that were willing to take the first step would usually gain the most benefits. And so, Yuan created yet another revolutionary advancement. He had created the Truth Words.

The Truth Words were means to communicate with the Great World's World Core. Truth Words were created by pairing up the ancient characters, forming a connection with the Spiritual Energy. When the Truth Words were used, they were able to make use of the Spiritual Energy and channel it into the Truth Words itself.

Back then, the Demonic Beasts were unable to cultivate by assimilating with the spiritual energy yet and were only able to become stronger by devouring the weak. The ability to make use of the abundant spiritual energy resource finally tipped the scales and the Demonic Beast Emperor's kingdom was able to conquer the entire Great World. His subordinates grew stronger by relying on Truth Words. Eventually, Yuan was able to realise the strengths in using spiritual energy to cultivate. After many millions of years later, he passed on this cultivation legacy to only his strongest few subordinates and his family. Then on, he disappeared from the Great World, never to be seen again. That span of reign by Yuan was the only time that the Great World was entirely unified.

Another tens of millions of years later, the Human race had finally descended onto the Great World. At first, when the humans first started appearing, the Demonic Beasts were easily able to suppress them. Yet, millions of years has passed and the innate talent of humans, also known as their spiritual root, allowed the humans to prosper in the spiritual energy filled world. Humans were also innately smarter, enabling them to create a well-developed civilisation in a short one hundred thousand years.

The humans grew stronger and stronger, eventually being able to subdue the Demonic Beast Race. The Demonic Beasts had to flee into the deeper jungles for most of them do not possess the strength to fight the powerful human cultivators. From that point on, began the longest standing war between both opposing races. The competition for resources and space on the great world was fierce, but both sides are relentless in their attacks.

Those powerful Demonic Beasts from Yuan's time continued to pass down the Demonic Beast language to their descendants. There were even writings on the rock walls in the Demonic Beast lairs that described their heritage. This was actually discovered by the Human race at one point, to which they brought back these runic symbols. It was then they realised that the runic symbols were able to make use of the spiritual energy in the surroundings.

The human's innately smart brains invented arrays using these symbols. The Truth Words were researched for millions of years by the human descendants. Even though they kept ancient records within their race, nobody knew the origins of these mysterious runic symbols. Everyone simply assumed it came from Heaven's Will. A power tool created for the Human race to conquer the Great World. Yet, no human knew that it was created by their arch enemy.
