37 Meeting The Elder In White 2

"The Four Feathered Phoenix?" There wasn't much of a reaction from the Elder in White when Wang Li Tian said the name. The elder had a simple smile, as if he knew that that question was coming. "Why made you think I have seen this Demonic Beast before?"

"Yesterday, the vision created by you, had a Phoenix inside. I was not able to see carefully, but I am sure that I saw Four feathers on it's tail!" Wang Li Tian got excited thinking about the vision from yesterday. Although, the aura emanating from the vision was life threatening to those that had a weak foundation, Li Tian had a willpower incomparable to those in his realm.

"Hahaha!" Hearing what the young cultivator had said, the Elder could not help by laugh out loud. He was surprised time and time again from yesterday to today. "The vision I created in your mind was indeed the Four Feathered Phoenix. However, it was actually supposed to make cultivators who looked into my eye turn into a vegetative state."

"The fact that you were even able to discern that the Elder in Black was fake had surprised me. Not only that, you had the guts to even look into my eyes." The elder didn't seem to be too angry about it. He was curious to know more about Li Tian. "I am guessing you have the Eye of the Discerning?"

"Ho..How did you know?" Wang Li Tian was surprised by what the Elder had said. The elder simply laughed as he explained himself afterwards.

"There are not many body or cultivation techniques that can see through my Illusion. Especially since you are only in the Body Enhancement Stage, there is only two techniques I can think of and one of them is only learnable by Demonic Beasts."

The elder in white was not lying. The level of his illusion may have been low compared to higher tiered illusion cultivators, but it should easily be able to fool anyone below the Core Establishment Stage. The Eye of the Discerning was an innate skill that was mostly attained via a strong bloodline or for Li Tian's case, through a powerful cultivation technique like the Braveheart Manual. The Eye of the Discerning allows the cultivator to see through illusions and look into a person's aura. Only when the opposing's cultivation stage is very much stronger than Wang Li Tian or when they specialise in Masking Aura techniques, would they be able to prevent others from prying into their cultivation.

"To answer Elder, I indeed know the Eye of the Discerning." Li Tian didn't lie.

"Good." After testing the boy time and time again, the elder decided to entertain the young cultivator. "Just now, you asked me if I had seen the Legendary Phoenix before."

"Yes, Elder."

"May I know the reason for you looking for it?"

"This.." Wang Li Tian bit his lip, hearing the question from the Elder. He shook his head in refusal. "I cannot tell you the reason for looking for the Phoenix."

"Oh? so you are looking for the phoenix.." With that, the elder had already managed to get a piece of information out of the slow-witted boy. As Li Tian had only asked if the Elder had seen the Phoenix before, but the Elder had managed to pry out that the boy was looking for the phoenix.

"Ah!" Li Tian covered his mouth in shock. He realised that he had been played by the elder.

"Hahaha. Relax young one. If you tell me the reason why you would want to know more about the phoenix, I will not tell anyone." The Elder radiated kindness. He even let down his guard as he revealed his aura to the young boy. "Since you have the Eye of the Discerning, you should be able to tell that I am not lying to you."

Staring straight at the senior, Li Tian's eyes indeed could see through lies. Right now, the elder was not lying to him. The boy took in a breath of fresh air before telling the elder his motive. "I have a friend who passed away. It wanted me to pass on a message to the Phoenix."

"Pass on a message?" The elder raised his brows. "Who is it from?"

"It was from his brother, Drago Firestorm."

"Dra.. Did you just say Drago Firestorm?!" Immediately, the elder raised to his feet as he grabbed Li Tian by his shoulders.

"Ye..Yes. Drago Firestorm."

"Where is he now?!"

"He.. He.."

"Where is he?!"

"He passed away.." Wang Li Tian's voice got softer when he spoke about Mr. Dragon. Even after so many months, he could not forget that moment of its passing.

"No.. That's impossible." The Elder's voice got hoarse. His face lost its colour. It was as if he had seen a ghost. "Where is he?"

"He passed away!"

"Where is he?!?!" Deep within the Elder's body, a strong divine aura radiated out, striking down Li Tian. His emotions got the better of him and before he knew it, the weak little boy had been knocked over with a grimace on his face. Shit!

"Young one, young one!" The elder immediately went and check his pulse. Irregular. Li Tian was going through Energy Deviation. The overpowering aura had been too intense for the Body Enhancement Stage cultivator. "Damn it!"

With a flick of a switch inside the Elder's head, a bright light shown around the senior cultivator. Within seconds the body of the human was transformed and morphed. He was reshaped and transformed into a bird form. As the light dimmed down, there revealed flames that flickered off the bright red feathers. The size of the bird was many times larger than the unconscious Li Tian, but still comparably smaller than Drago Firestorm. There were four beautifully groomed feathers on the bird's tail. The elder was none other than the Four Feathered Phoenix.
