3 Make a mess

Flint began his journey south on a blue Phoenix towards the Sky Sword Clan.

Making the sky seem to split with blue light on every path they traveled, spreading fear to all beasts that saw it, and with the speed of the Phoenix king, they were out of the forest area in just 1 week, if using a horse at least one would take months.

From the sky, Flint continued to observe the land area, he could see the countryside filled with fields under the foot of the mountain, the scene attracted Flint's attention to go down and take a look, but because he wanted to find the celestial sword clan immediately, he could only shake his head and restrain his desire.

The villagers were unaware of the existence of Flint and the Phoenix king, that was because they flew quite high and did not let go of their dominating aura.

2 days later, after passing through several other villages, in the afternoon, Flint finally saw a large city, filled with buildings and densely populated.

The city was surrounded by towering walls that formed a 4-square. Then at each corner of the wall was a short tower that was enough to hold 5 men on guard.

"I'd better ask them!" This time Flint decided to go down just to ask for directions to the Sky Sword Clan, he didn't want to get lost.

Flint patted the Phoenix King on the back, and as if he understood Flint's meaning, the Phoenix King immediately swooped down from the sky, piercing through the thin clouds dragged by the wind.

In the north tower, two young guards stood and monitored the north area seriously and intensely, as if the security of the city in the north area depended on them, while three others sat resting and drinking beer leisurely.

"Hey, new kid, don't take yourself too seriously, here's a drink, there won't be any beasts crazy enough to come climbing over the wall all of a sudden!" One of the senior guards sat down and handed a bottle of beer to the two new guards who still seemed to be in good spirits.

The two guards could only nod and sit down with an awkward smile, accept the bottle of beer, and join in the toast.

But before they could actually take a sip of beer, the city's giant bell rang three times, signaling a high-level threat.

After the bells were rung, a huge panic broke out throughout the city, everyone ran scattering away from the center of the threat that was clearly visible to most of the population.

The city's rulers and officials immediately mobilized and deployed all the forces at their disposal; mages, weapons experts, and martial artists, even some of the city's beast tamers quickly rushed to the North. Some of the rest helped evacuate the citizens.

At the same time, in the fort tower to the North, a piercing heat and tense aura enveloped the bodies of the five guards who were just about to drink a toast to beer.

Two new disciples who had their heads slightly raised as they were about to take a sip suddenly dropped the beer bottle in their hands. Their eyes bulged in fear as if they saw a ghost.

The 3 seniors also felt a great threat behind them, in addition to the shocked and scared expressions shown by the two juniors in front of them, they were very sure that there was something big behind them.

"A rare spiritual beast... King... Phoenix King!!!" The five guards glared with stiff bodies, gulping, their faces pale and full of sweat when they saw the figure of the blue flame Phoenix a dozen meters away in front of them.

They also saw the figure of a handsome young man whose body was covered in tattered robes standing casually on the Phoenix King's back, adding to their worries, they could imagine how strong the figure of the young man who could tame the Phoenix King, and stand on his back without being injured in the slightest.

"It's over, this city is over, we're all going to die!" One of them said in a nervous, frightened voice.

Flint on the other hand patted his face in despair, "Damn, I was too excited!" Realizing he had made a mess, he immediately jumped towards the guards.

"Sorry for startling you guys, I didn't mean to mess up, I just wanted to ask for directions to the celestial sword clan," Flint asked in an awkward voice.

But the guards' expressions were still the same, they stared at Flint as if he was a monster, and one of the junior guards stiffly pointed in one direction with a trembling hand.

"Mmm, I see!" Flint was silent for a moment, "Do you guys have a map, it should be more useful so that I don't make misunderstandings in other places."

"We have it!" The junior guard nodded and quickly retrieved the map scroll from his storage pocket.

"Oh, thank you very much!" Flint immediately took the map, then bowed slightly in response of respect and gratitude, after all his grandfather taught him to always be humble.

If he realized how the world worked, he might not need to be polite, as the guards would immediately bow down if he gave the order.

Those who were strong would be treated like kings, but Flint hadn't realized that yet.

Flint turned around and was about to jump back onto King Phoenix's back, but he saw hundreds of fire arrows shooting towards King Phoenix. And several loud shouts came from all directions.

"Ah, shit!" Flint could only pat his face while slightly shaking his head.

Before Flint could react, the Phoenix King, who was annoyed by the small attack, immediately flapped its wings, and thousands of blue fire feathers destroyed the fire arrows while raining down on the nearby town area.

Flint had already guessed what would happen, but it also made him relieved, because the Phoenix King had only used a normal attack. If he had used a powerful attack, the town would probably have been instantly destroyed. He remembered the first time he found the Phoenix King in the mountainous area, where one of the mountain peaks had been turned into a crater of blue flames by a single burst of its fire.

But not the five guards nearby, their jaws instantly dropped when they saw the Phoenix king's attack that easily destroyed the surrounding area of the city.

"Alright, I'll leave now, I don't have much time. And for this mess, I'll probably pay in the future." Flint said to the guards who looked like stupid chickens. He then jumped on the Phoenix King to calm him down and darted away with his spiritual mount.

After the departure of Flint and King Phoenix, the five guards looked at each other, what they had just seen seemed like a dream.

While Flint himself breathed a sigh of relief, he didn't expect the Phoenix king's presence in the city to create such a big mess.
