26 Explanations need strength

No one was surprised to see Ying Yue as she sauntered into the room as if nothing happened.

" Tara?" Ying Yue asked her friend, not caring what others thought.

Tara looked at Ying Yue, and from her look, she knew the answer to her unaksed question. Ying Yue nodded once.

" We are going home then." She said as she looked at her grandfather.

There was a loud round of protests from the doctors who were still stationed in the room. Ying Yue rolled her eyes. Shen hospital belonged to a trust control by the descendants of the Shen family, and the current head of the family was her grandfather's friend. There were times she was amazed at the number of good friends her grandfather had, but now was not one of those times. She knew the doctors would have had explicit instructions from Elder Shen on how to deal with his best friend. She also knew that the main reason she could waltz around the hospital premises without the security and the nurses interfering were because they were most likely given her photo and to treat her as part of the Red List. The Red list was the list of hotshots the hospital staffs were given with details on how to handle them.

" He should be getting treatment Ying Yue. You should not encourage him." Scolded Madam Huo.

Ying Yue knew her family members needed explanations. But she could never break her promise to Tara to never tell a soul about the virus. They had different thoughts about how to deal with the creator of the virus. Besides a few important officials in the international organisations who were trustworthy, no one was aware of the existence of the virus.

Tara's father was still on the dark as to how his wife actually died. Tara was sure that if the truth came out, the virus would be spread to the entire world population, which would cause mass pandemic, which could lead to the destruction of the entire human race. Tara was not paranoid, she was a scientist who believed in facts. The Homo sapiens were single handedly destroying species by species and Mother Earth as well.

Tara sent Ying Yue a look as went back to looking at the test results. Ying Yue knew she was just looking at the test results, just for the purpose of looking. Tara's memory power was off the charts, Ying Yue could bet that she was already mentally comparing and graphing the results with the other subject's results.

" I need to talk to my family alone." Ying Yue said as she looked at the doctors. One of them was the Chief of Oncology and the other was the director was the hospital, but one sentence from her, they left the room without any form of objection. Ying Yue sighed internally. It would take her some time to get used to the pampering, she spent the majority of her adulthood fighting for her place, wherever she was, and had to constantly prove her worth. But here, just because a part of her name was Huo, she had the power to make people obey her, it made her cringe inside, even though it was convenient most of the time.

" The treatment they will be prescribing him, will accelerate his death." Tara said, making Ying Yue burst out of her musings. She was a bit surprised at Tara's words, but she did not interfere, even though it was her family, the stage belonged to Tara.

" Grandfather doesn't have cancer. It is something else. You did a good thing by resisting the treatments, that decision just might be what saves you." She said in a dispassionate voice.

Ying Yue could see that her aunt wanted to cut in and protest, so she decided to step in.

" Nakshatra is the smartest person I know. She is leading a research on a new kind of disease, the one grandfather has, she is here because I asked her to be here. She knows what she is saying. The doctors here are good, but she is the best oncologist I know. " She explained without actually going into detail about the virus.

" My mother died because she received chemotherapy." Tara said with a straight face. Ying Yue looked at Tara. She knew better than anyone else how much strength it took Tara to say those words out aloud. Ying Yue swore again in her heart. She would make the one who created such a horrible thing to pay. She would make Tara sleep peacefully again.
