19 19: mock town and jaya

arriving at at jaya the crew jocks in a town called mock town, there the crew splits up to gather information about the sky island Alex decided that while she's here seeing as there are multiple pirate ships at the dock decided to loot them before gathering information. Walking into a shadow next to one of the ship alex was able to walk out of another inside the ship near the captains cabin

'this fruit is amazing, makes sneaking so much easier than before'

alex thought as she was rooting around looking for money or interesting info in the cabin, finding only a couple hundred beri and no info she made her way to the treasury where she wiped them clean. Alex continued this for every ship docked at the port before she made her way back to the merry to deposit the money in their own vault, before she made her way to a bar as they normally have the best information.

making her way into the bar alex or ordered for their strongest rum before sitting down and listening in on the conversations going on around her hoping for something interesting, but all anyone was talking about was a pirate named bellamy who ate the spring spring fruit killing someone. Seeing as she wasn't able to get any good information she was about to leave when luffy zoro and nami entered the bar. seeing this alex went and sat down next to luffy and a giant guy with black hair and scruffy beard, before ordering more rum.

Luffy and the guy both ordered the cherry pie but got into an argument as luffy though the pie was bad and the other guy thought it was delicious, this escalated as they competed on order amount before getting ready to fight each other.

Nami quickly put a stop to that as she reminded luffy about his promise not to cause trouble in the town and by the fact that he doesn't have enough for all the steaks he tried to order.

the bartender gave the guy 50 cherry pies and he ended up leaving, on his way out bellamy cam i it the bar and asked if there was a pirate with a straw hat. bellamys's crew then arrived and bellamy prefer luffy a drink before he then smashed luffy's head through the bar counter, and zoro had his sword next to his throat the next instant ready to kill him when luffy stands back up and gets ready to fight, but nami interrupts asking if anyone has heard of how to get to sky island.The whole bar then started to laugh at them for believing that sky island actually existed, bellamy then explained

"listen. The are where pirates dream about things is over! The city of Fold, the City of Emeralds, the. it hidden treasure, One Piece....! Those idiots who are blinded by dream treasure don't notice the treasure around them. In this era of oceans, those who should be most capable of crossing the ocean are mislead by those illusions and die. And people talk about those dead idiots, saying, "he was happy since he lived his dream!" That's just drivel from losers! When i see idiots chasing after dreams like that, i get disgusted!"

he then punched luffy in the face and the crowd threw their plates and drinks at them causing nami to tell them to forget about their promise not to fight, it luffy asked zoro and alex not to take them on no matter what happens. Luffy alex and zoro are then beat up and hit by various object but refused to fall, they just stood there taking it like a champ, but this is seen. y bellamy's crew as being to scared to fight so,some stronger than them, even though the straw hats could wipe the flor with them, but they didn't know this so they felt superior. they are then sent flying out of the bar by bellamy's crew as they offer to buy nami into joining their crew as she was a woman, apparently also mistaking alex as a man, but nami's refused saying she's to good for a team of small fries like them. Nami then storms out of the bar dragging the other three with her on her way back to the ship, but the guy with pies from earlier interrupts her by saying

"The sky island exists. The cherry pies here really are the best! Why so angry , young lady? They're the ones who won the fight. Your sharp retort was really something too. You've got nerves of steel. The new era they're talking about is crap! The era where pirates have dreams will be over, they say?! Huh?! People dreams...

have no end!!! Is t that right?! Outdoing others isn't easy! They can go ahead and laugh at us. When you aim high, you so,times come across fights not worth fighting. Isn't that right?! Oh, looks like i interrupted you. Are you in a hurry? I hope you can go to the sky island!"

the guy then walks away as luffy, alex and zoro, who stood up during the start of his narration walked with nami back towards the ship. arriving at the ship chopper quickly patched them up before robin cam back with information about the sky island, saying that on the other side of jaya was a guy who might know how to get there. Leaving ,con town the straw hats went to the part of the island where the guy was supposed to be living, but cam across another ship on the way, with the captian looking similar to the salvaging captain in that both look like monkeys. The other captain after finding out luffy kicked his brother of their ship attacked with a sound wave wrecking his own ship and damaging the merry before they sailed past when the captain was to busy with his wrecked ship to pay them anymore attention.

Arriving at the guys house the crew was greeted with a giant castle cutout, that the guy put up to make it seem like he lived in a castle when sailing by.Alex after exploring his house with luffy went to the tree line near the house and went to sleep on one of the branches, while the crew read a book about the guys ancestor monteblanc noland. After a while a guy with an acorn on his head jumped out of the sea and started to attack them as he thought they were invading his home, but before the battle could get to heated he dropped to the ground in pain. Chopper being the good doctor he was treated the guy who was suffering from caisson disease, which divers usually get . While treating the acorn guy, the two monkey guys from earlier cam bursting though the door demanding to know what they did to the guy and if they hurt him, and luffy answered that they were looking after the guy amd that they should go somewhere else.

After the guy woke up he introduced himself as monteblanc cricket and asked what they wanted of him, to which luffy replied that they want to go to the sky island amd if he knew a way to get there. Cricket then explained how there was once a guy who believed it existed but her was called a liar until his death. He explaimed how everyone from his family set out to prove his innocence but ended up ,issuing in return before he ended up on jaya and decided to stay as it felt like destiny, and that he had to win the duel against the ,and who through a wrench in his life by being the one to prove that his ancestor was either a liar or truthful.

Luffy getting impatient yells at cricket about going to sky island and asked if he can get them there or not, which caused him to bring out a log book from 400 years ago which described its,a they found from sky island.

the old guy then got the monkey brothers to make upgrades on the merry so that they might be able to use the method he thought of in order to get to the sky island, before he told everything he knew about the sky island and how the night they experienced was due to a really big cumuloregalis cloud that was so high in the sky it wasn't visible from the sea blocking out the sun, and that is the only place where a sky island could exist. He also told them a method to getting to the clouds but they would have to risk their lives to use it.

"the knockup stream is a current that shoots into the air... You can theoretically take it into the sky. Understand?"

nami then asks about how that would just send them crashing back into the ground after taking it and cricket explained that it was all about timing, and how the knockup stream is a natural disaster, something that should normally be avoided. nami and usopp try to convince luffy it's a bad idea and that they won't make it as the log pose will reset in a day, and that they don't know when the cloud amd knockup stream will line up with each other. Cricket dashes their hopes when he told them that they would line up tomorrow afternoon, so they better be ready if they want to make it.

Usopp ends up calling him a liar as everything he is doing is to convenient, and that they can't trust him as his family is known for lying.

cricket explains how he knows as the previous midday night they experienced earier that day happenes a day before the area around them also experiences it, so tomorrow, and that judging by its five month schedule the knockup stream will probably activate tomorrow as well, it's not 100% but it's a high chance they will happen.

the crew then gathers for food and celebrations for the night as cricket shows them the gold he found so far, which is three gold bells and a golden model of a south bird that lives on jaya still. He then renters that the crew needs to catch a south bird as it always faces south if the want to go to the sky island as the knockup stream they are using is directly south of them, and since they are going to a part of the sea and not another island log poses don't work. Alex who was already smashed by this point ended up passed out on the lawn while the crew goes into the forest to catch the south bird and cricket and the monkey brothers start working on the merry for the trip tomorrow. While the strawhats are gone bellamy and his crew arrive and steal crickets gold after beating them up, while leaving they recognized alex who is passed out on the lawn, and brought her with them for entertainment.

arriving back the crew finds alex missing and cricket amd the monkey brothers severely injured cricket explains that bellamy came for his gold and took alex as well, this pisses luffy of causing him to go to mock town in search of bellamy. luffy after running along the coast for a couple hours makes it to mock town before screaming for bellamy to come and face him, this caused bellamy to exit the bar he was in to insult luffy by asking what a coward like him was able to do and if he even knew how to throw a punch.

Bellamy using his power of the spring spring fruit started to spring himself at luffy trying to hit him but he kept missing as luffy dodged all his attacks, this made bellamy break the roof he was on before attacking him as he fell. Bellamy managed to lunch luffy into the ground but he stood back up as if he was never hit in the first place. Bellamy the. started to use the houses and ground as a launch pinot to gain more and more speed as he bounces. Bellamy as he picked up speed kept insulting cricket and the monkey brothers as well as luffy's crew saying they were all idiotic for believing in legends at that they were weak for losing to them, before he launched himself at luffy who was getting madder by the second.

"Do i know how to throw a punch you ask?

luffy asked as bellamy launches himself at luffy before he then punch bellamy into the ground so hard he left an imprint of his fist on his head, as well as leaving a crater where bellamy hit the ground.This left bellamy's crew in terrified silence as luffy asked for alex and the gold before leaving back to his ship,which was scheduled to leave in three hours, Alex during all this commotion was still blissfully sleeping off her buzz. Luffy finally making it back to the ship was late by 43 minutes causing nami to be pissed at him for not considering the time at all after seeing the ship that they fixed up luffy said it looked awesome, though zoro said it looked like a chicken.

The crew then set sail for the knockup stream
