A Bartender's Tales

It was a cold rainy night. One could occasionally see the flashes of lightning and the rumbling of thunder far away. And with dark sky as canvas which makes it a gloomy night.

A man with a black coat could be seen walking in the rain, looking rather distress as he looked around every so often. And soon the man finds himself in front of a bar, a rather inconspicuous one and with it he went inside. Inside he found that the place was empty except for a man wearing a hat sitting alone and he sat next to him as the man spoke.

"You're late."

"Traffic.", he responds

"So they're looking for you again. How can you even live in that place you call heaven, more like hell for me looking at the way things are."

"Unlike you, I have real work to do."

"Ha Ha Ha. What work? All I see is you manipulating people as if they're your toys, you sure do make a funny joke."

"You'll never understand what I seek. What I seek is law and order"

"And I seek for only freedom"

"And yet you've cause nothing but chaos", he argued.

"Not my fault. Who gave them the freedom of choice?" the man shrugged.

"Sigh. Enough of this pointless argument. And I've heard he has awakened."

Somehow there was a strange sour mood in the air which makes the whole place depressing, even suffocating if not the fact that they were alone.

"Yes He has, but fortunately he has no memories as to speak as of now. And don't for a moment think that I will let you control him. We clearly decided that we will not interact with him until he recovers so."

"Fine. However, control those pawns of yours in the New World. Pesky pawns they are, they keep interfering with my plans. Especially the madman, he has been too much of a problem for both you and I."

"Alright alright", with that the man wearing the coat stood up and walked towards the door.

"Hey, catch, for old times' sake."

A bottle could be seen thrown by the man with the hat which is caught by the other man and walk out of the bar while waving his hands at the former. The weather outside stayed the same as it was before; gloomy with the rain falling while the lightning and thunder softened. A sighed escaped from the man then he continued walking outside till he encountered men wearing white robes as if they were waiting for him. He smiles then nodded and he continued walking till eventually he fades in the dark of the night.

Meanwhile back inside the bar, the man shouted, "You can come out now Tom.". Then a bald man walked inside behind from the counter and on his hand a bottle of liquor and a glass.

He asked, "Your best?" to which he nodded and poured him a glass to he drank. He kept on going so, for they both he and the man he met knew today marks the end of the balance between the two. What is to come they never know for the future will never be the same and is ever changing from now onward.
