6 The Duke's Daughter's End

"Sylvia Rutherford, for bullying my beloved Ye Hua, I will have you sentenced to death by hanging! I hereby decree this as the Second Prince of Ruberdia!"

Inside a glorious banquet hall filled with luxurious curtains and chandeliers, high-class food and young men and women all dressed in glamorous suits and gowns were 3 figures that looked to be in an argument.

One of them was a dashing young man with red hair and dark blue eyes. He had a kind-of boy-next-door image, but when he was wearing that dark blue tuxedo, it gave him a dignified air instead. He had his brows furrowed and was angrily glaring against a girl before him with another hiding behind his back.

The girl behind his back had fluffy brown hair and gentle green eyes. Her eyes were showing fear and her body was shivering while clinging on to the man. She looked like a scared little bunny that made you want to protect her.

"Is that so?" Said the young woman in front of him. Her voice contained a kind of indifference as if she couldn't be bothered with such matters. When you turned to look at her you would be shocked!

She was an unprecedented beauty! She had smooth and silky silver hair flowing down until her waist and her figure was perfectly accentuated by her deep purple evening gown which matched well for her mysterious yet bored eyes which were of the same color as the dress.

The people around them were gossiping in hushed voices but Sylvia could still hear what they were saying.

"Goddess Sylvia wouldn't do something like that right?"

"You heard the rumors though right?"

"I heard it's because she likes the Second Prince, Rudy!"

"I heard it's because she disliked that illegitimate child Ye Hua!"

"Hey, I heard..."

Sylvia continued listening to the loud murmurs of the audience. She couldn't help but feel satisfied that her plan was finally reaching its final stages. Yes, she had planned all this.

She had found every single little excuse to bully Ye Hua, (She didn't actually though, she only made it seem as if she was.) Had people spread rumors about it, (Would've naturally happened anyway) and made sure to only make little improvements in her magic research.

While she was doing all this she even gained the Host Skill, 「 Strategizing」for all that she's done. She was still confused on how to get more Host Skills but she had to continue with the great play she orchestrated.

"Yes! Who else besides you would want to harm my dear Ye Hua?!"

"Let's see... There's Count Stratum's daughter, Baron Alleili's Daughter, Viscount Maron's younger sister and many more."

"Stop trying to change the subject!"

"I'm not. But if dear Second Prince dare says so then I must be!"

"Since you're so confident about me harming your 'beloved Ye Hua', then throw me in prison!"

"And that I shall do!"

"And the Duke's Daughter was thrown into prison, the accusations of bringing slander and harming another individual proven true. And thus she was executed.

Her father, while having little to no presence in her life, wept many days and nights after the event happened. She was, after all, his only daughter from his deceased wife. Her fiancee was unable to stop the ordeal due to being brought into the military early so he could gain experience for his future time of reign.

The King was with him during the expedition as well, allowing the Second Prince to do whatever he pleased.

But tragedy struck the kingdom after her death, her magic research papers were left unfinished. Thus, the kingdom was unable to keep up with its competitors and eventually collapsed. It was said that after the Crown Prince returned home, he had his brother executed and the woman with him burned alive. People say that Ye Hua was secretly in love with the crown prince and only pretended to be in love with the Second Prince."

And thus ends the story of 「 The Duke's Daughter」."

"Soo, how was the story, Master?"

"..."

"Master?"

"...I guess it did end in Tragedy, Luna"

"Didn't I tell you that I only tell tales of Tragedies?"

"Well, I guess you did."

"Oh, it's that time already, we must get going, Master Elio."

"You're right, let's go."
