Flare had naturally defeated John but he was extremely tough the instructors were prepared to suspend her for going too far once more but John says "No don't worry about it I'm ok Flare I hope that we can fight again in the near future" Flare says "Alright John I'll be waiting for you I'll defeat you every time" Four months after joining Lucy had managed to complete her training and challenged John to a dual. John says "Are you ready?" Lucy says "Yes" They clash this time John defeated Lucy however before the dual was decided Lucy used a magic attack that caused her to suffer from backlash of magic overflow. Lucy is unable to control the attack and it missed John simultaneously it unleashed a magic shockwave that knocks her over the side of the building. Lucy was wounded from the battle and unconscious from the backlash and magic shockwave and she falls over the edge of the building. John rushed over and jumped off the edge of the building and saves Lucy by taking the impact for her softening the fall . John loses consciousness as a result of the damage caused by the events. The following day Lucy goes up to John who was still struggling to learn magic she says "You are not learning that way I'll take over and teach you" John smiles and says "Thank you that sounds nice" Lucy becomes John's magic tutor. Three weeks later The Wearwolf girl began making meals for John to eat at school he was still sparing with Flare on a regular basis.
