Chapter 1

„I'm sorry", he says.

He is apologizing again.

Why is he saying that he's sorry when he did the same thing twice? My heart can't do this anymore. It hurts so much.

Looking at the person I loved since we were children, my husband Thomas, naked and in our bed next to my best friend and secretary Lara, my heart shatters into a million pieces.

I trusted him. No, I trusted them both. How can someone who claims to love you cheat on you?

"I am going away till i know what to do next", i say, my voice more angry than sad to my surprise and I am adverting my gaze from them.

They didn't even try to stop me. So i took my bag and slept for a week in a motel. I completely shut away from the world somehow. I broke my phone on the first day and spent my days reading or watching tv. I never thought that my heart could hurt in such a way.

Then on the seventh day I just wanted to take a bath after swallowing some calming pills. But when I got out of the bathtub, I slipped and hit the washbasin with my head.

I don't know for how long I am laying on the ground, but my head hurt like hell. I think I'm bleeding. After a while, everything went dark and I didn't feel any pain. When I opened my eyes, I think that someone might have found me and brought me to the hospital but after a few moments, I had to realize that I'm no longer in my usual body, because I didn't stare down at my adult hands but at the hands of a baby. I have baby hands!

So I'm a baby again?

Like in those novels where someone is reincarnated as the protagonist or villain of a story they read before their death? Something like this ?

This better be a joke. I guess I don't have another choice as to wait and see what happens as I'm still a baby and can't talk or even walk.

I don't have to wait long for something to happen. After a few minutes, a bunch of people rush into the room and lean over me so that I could see their faces.

They all had their hair in a tight bun and wore the same dress, it looks like a maid dress. I wonder what book I'm in right now.

"This child is sure going to take after her mother, the villainous second empress Ivanna."

"Poor child, her father hated her before she was even born."

What are they saying? A villainous empress? And I am the daughter of this bad empress ? Oh and of course I also have a father that hates me before he even met me? What the hell. I don't recall ever reading the name Empress Ivanna.

"All we can do for her is to take good care of her", one of in them said, she has brown hair and eyes the color of a forest. She's gorgeous and looks like a nice person. I guess I got happy that she wants to take good car of me and won't harass me because my mother seems to have the title villainess.

After a few days spending my time in my crib and getting fed and clothed and so on, I could grasp a lot of things concerning this world.

First, my mother died while giving birth to me.

Second, my father abandoned me in the castle for concubines, after slaughtering the ones that remained here. Also, my father is the emperor of the Lentatius empire and there are 5 princes, born from the beloved first empress Elisabeth. So I have 5 half brothers in total.

The last and certainly most interesting fact is that magic exists in this world. I can't help but hope I am talented in magic cause it would make running away from here easier. I think I haven't mentioned yet that I plan on running away from here. It's way better living as a commoner than an unloved and abandoned princess.

Also, I had lots of time to think about my past life. And for real I should've slapped this shit of a husband. Hilarious. Why did I forgive him the time he first cheated on me? I should have dumped him and enjoyed my life to the fullest.

Well, I can't change anything now. Above all, my life, except my love life and obviously the relation with my best friend, it was really successful. As a boss of a large company I had a lot of money, I had a family that loved me and friends with whom I liked to spend time.

I plan to spend this second life happy and not fall for another player.

I think I am lucky. In books, it's usually that the abandoned princesses are mistreated or harassed by the maids, or they don't really care for them as they don't get food regularly, or they don't come when you cry. Something like that. But the maids here even if they are not very affectionate towards me they treat me decently for that.

The only person who really cares about me is Lilian. She is the one who said that all they can do for me is take good care for me. She reads everyday fairy tales to me and often keeps me lovingly in her arms.

Furthermore, she was the personal maid of my mother, Ivanna, and she has voluntarily decided to stay by my side as my Nanny. She is also the head maid in this palace, so she has a lot of work to do.

Lilian is a really beautiful woman as well. Her long brown hair, which is actually always put up in a braid and her forest like green eyes make her look like a fairy. She's 24 years old, so she still has her whole life ahead of her.

At this moment she's reading me from the book, which is named the knight who defeated the dragon. And although there is a 25-year-old woman in this baby body, this children's fairy tale is really exciting.

The fight against the dragon was very difficult, he won, but had received a fatal injury. He still managed to go to the place where his loved one should be, but he found her already dead on the ground. He embraced the body and cried until his injury brought him to his death."

After she had finished reading, I couldn't help but think of this story is a good one to read to a baby. Lillian took deep sigh. Then she looked at me sadly and said: "This is the story of the father of the currently ruling king of the neighboring country Ethorian"

The only thing I could think of was the question of why Lilian looked so sad when she said that. Was there a certain reason? Since I can't talk yet, I can't ask her and just look at her sadly.

She kissed me on the forehaed and wished me a good night before she left. My thoughts were still with the story. I mean even after the man suffered a fatal injury, he still made himself on the way to his beloved one. What a sad, but romantic story.
