42 Ichina's Search

"Ms. Nihan!" Ichina screams as she walks into the doctor's home. Her door was wide open at most times of the day, especially during an emergency. She was treating a number of other villagers who were harmed during the battle between Khi and Damien. The patients were waiting in her living room; from the back of the living room was a doorway that led to her office. In her office, she jumped at Ichina's sudden scream and looked with horror as she saw Khi be brought in among the injured.

"Khi," her voice broke as she stopped treating her patient, a child with a minor head injury, she pointed at a table that was in the middle of her living room; giving the nod to Ichina. Ichina rushed to the table gently placing Khi on it, she relaxed herself and deactivated her magic. The glow from her body dimmed as Ms. Nihan called out to her, "Ichina, do some of the basic check up techniques I taught you. I'll be there in a minute."

Ichina breathed in and out. She stared at Khi who was grimacing at the pain around his cauterized wound. She focused mana into her eyes, it slowly began to glow as she managed to see inside of Khi's body.

"He has pieces of Damien's blade inside of him!" Ichina yelled out to Ms. Nihan.

"Damien? He fought him, so that's what the huge noise outside was," Ms. Nihan tapped the child on their shoulder, the child hopped down from a tribal medical chair and ran to Khi.

"Khi! Are you okay? Lady is he going to be okay, " the child had tears forming in her eyes, she stared at Ichina hoping for an answer. In a village of fire, Ichina never felt colder.

'Do I respond to her? Do I tell her everything is going to be alright? I don't want to lie to her just for him to be beyond recovery. I should just focus on Khi.' Ichina thought as she steadily turned her head to the child beside her. 'She's crying. She's crying. If I deal with her Khi might-'

Ms. Nihan placed her hand on Ichina's shoulder. "He's going to be just fine, you need to stand back now okay," she said with a warming smile. It warmed both the child and Ichina. The child nodded, walking back into an open spot among the injured. Ms Nihan focused mana into her eyes, much more efficiently than Ichina, she got closer to Khi and peered into his body.

Ichina's hands began glowing, she was attempting to force out the pieces inside of Khi. 'Think back to what Ms. Nihan showed you. Come on Ichina! Wait, but what about everyone else. I know Khi is more injured, but what about everyone else. They've waited to be treated. Is this even fair.' Ichina thought as her hands stopped glowing, she slumped back shaking her head.

"I can't get them out Miss," Ichina said as the injured in the living room watched with a careful eye. They all mostly had minor injuries on closer inspection.

"Yes you can Ichina," Ms Nihan said.

"Focus, just like I showed you the other day. You've already learned how to heal yourself."

Ichina nodded her head, "Just like healing myself, instead of imagining mana increasing my cell production for healing. I need to exert my mana into his body."

She placed her hand on his cauterized wound. She let her mana flow through her and into her hands. At first she was healing her hands, small scratches and ripped skin were being repaired bit by bit. She then rerouted that healing outward, from her hands to an explosion of mana from her palm. Her hands were still being healed, albeit much slower than before. The little mana that happened to slip out began healing Khi.

"I need to repair his cells, and expel any dangerous objects."

With the mana healing Khi, she attempted to transform it to a more hostile one; to force out Damien's blade pieces. The mana forced one out through Khi's skin, but.

"OW"

"I'm sorry Khi, are you okay?"

Ms. Nihan moved Ichina over, "I'll take over now. Just relax. You did great."

By nightfall, Khi was completely healed by the doctor from assistance by Ichina.

She walked through the village and saw the destruction that the battle had left. She could see the other side of the village from a kitchen. Ichina tried her best to help out people who needed it. It wasn't long until she heard about the horrors of what transpired after she left with Khi.

'There's no way that Azuka would make that choice. He would never, right?' She questioned herself as she ran to the beach, the only logical place that Azuka could have gone. However, when she reached the beach, she realized that he was not there. She searched everywhere on the beach; inside Khi's boat, by their bags, even in the forest that separated the beach from the village. He was nowhere to be found.

She was stumped on where else he could be.

He had no boat to sail away, so he must still be on the island, she thought as she walked back to the village. She wandered around as everyone around her began to turn in for bed. 'Perhaps he is at Mrs. Kasai's place.' she thought as she rushes to Mrs. Kasai's house, once she gets there she knocks on the door. Mrs. Kasai opens the door, surprised that Ichina is at the door.

"Ichina darling, come in, come in. It's late, you have to come in."

Ichina followed Mrs. Kasai's orders, she walked in closing the door behind her as Mrs. Kasai walked into the kitchen, producing a small flame from her finger to provide light.

"If you need a bed to sleep in, you can sleep in Khi's room. He rarely comes back, he's probably out training like he usually does." Mrs. Kasai let out a little chuckle, however she abruptly became quiet after looking back at Ichina's sullen face. "What's wrong darling?" Mrs. Kasai says with concern.

"It's nothing," she says with a masquerading smile to Mrs. Kasai, "I'm a little tired, so I'll just head over to bed."
