7 Chapter 7: Guild Master

We split off from Kevin and his party, at the gate, as they headed to the church to get healed while we headed to the Guild.

Once we arrived at the guild, what greeted me was a bunch of rough-looking people to the left in groups and drinking and a counter to the right with lines of people in front of them. Grey lead me towards the counter area and talked to a beautiful lady behind it.

[Can I see the Master right now? It's important]

[Of course. This way please.]

The lady led us up the stairs next to the counter and headed deeper inside the building. The lady knocked at the door and called towards its inside.

[Master, The party, Silver Wolves is here.]

[Come in.]

A female voice called to us from the inside. I expected that the master of the Guild would be a scarily strong man that could control people like Kevin but I guess I was wrong. So she was a woman who was able to control arrogant and strong people like Kevin huh. She must be really strong then.

Master [Welcome back Grey, How was it? Good or Bad?]

Grey [I'm not quite sure yet, but it is very important. And I do hope it's good news.]

Master [Liz, you can leave us now. Make sure no one comes in to disturb us.]

Liz [Of course.]

The lady that guided us here, named Liz, left the room as she was told and now there is only me, Silver wolves, and a girl here. The girl seems to be the Master, but if I were to describe her, she would be a blonde haired beauty, other than the fact that she looks like a little girl younger than me.

Grey [Then first things first is introductions. Master, this here is Mizuki, and she might be related to our case.]

Mizuki [Hello.]

Grey [And Mizuki, This here is the Guild Master of this branch of the Guild, Leah,]

Leah [Nice to meet you Mizuki. You appear to be pretty strong despite your appearance. Your magic power is quite vast.]

Mizuki [....uhm, Thank you?]

I didn't know if Grey and the others were testing me or if they were serious about Leah being the Master, so I can only give a vague answer.

Grey [I know what you're thinking, but Leah here is truly the Master of this Guild's Branch. Like you, you can't really judge someone by appearance.]

Mizuki [Is that so?]

Leah [That is so. And now unto matters. Grey, who exactly is this Mizuki?]

Grey [Let me tell you what happened in the forest then. We were investigating deep into the forest when we ran into a Slaughter Bear. While we were running, we ran into a barrier of sorts near the center of the forest. Where we found Mizuki at the center of said barrier]

Leah [Hmm... So you're saying that Mizuki here is the reason for our recent problems with the Nightmare Forest?]

Grey [I'm not too sure yet, but I am sure that she is connected to all this.]

Leah [And so? Why is she here? She looks to be a dragonoid but I doubt that. And you bringing her here means that she isn't here only for our recent problems.]

Grey [Yes. I believe we can trust her and have her work for the Guild.]

Leah [You're saying that for sympathy? Or as the Vice-Master?]

Grey [As the Vice-Master.]

Mizuki [Vice-Master?]

Grey [Yes. Let me reintroduce myself, I am Grey, The Vice-Master of the town of Herris' branch of the Guild, and the Leader of the S-Class party, Silver wolves. I'm sorry we kept it hidden but I doubt that you would even know if we were to tell you at the time.]

Leah [So what is it that you want me to do? If she wants to join the Guild, then she needs to take the examination. Are you telling me to judge her?]

Grey [She herself wanted to join the guild even before we got out of the forest. I believe that Mary had explained it all to her.]

Mary [I didn't explain about the Guild's examination.]

Leah [Then get Liz to explain to her about what she doesn't know, and tell her to contact Jess to be Mizuki's battle partner in 2 day's time. Grey, I want you to start working on that stack of papers please.]

Grey [Stop trying to act cool in front of her. It doesn't fit your personality.]

Leah [SHUT UP! I'M NOT TRYING TO ACT COOL!!]

Grey [You just blew it.]

I don't know what that was about but I'll just ignore it, and it seems I wasn't the only one, as they all ignored her.

Grey [Mary, Go with Mizuki to our inn and have her stay there, and go tell Marc about Mizuki, she might as well know what we're having her take care off. Jack, go and tell Liz what Master just said. And the rest of you have free time until I get back, we'll talk about what to do next at night.]

Silver Wolves [Roger.]

Mary [Come on Mizuki. I'll show you to our inn and maybe show you around town.]

Mizuki [Roger.]

It was a brief meet with the Guild Master, but I could tell by instinct that she is powerful despite her appearance, but I can't say that since I'm the same.

Me and Mary head towards what they called an inn, while everyone else went to do their business. I'm quite excite to be able to explore this big town and learn more about the things around here. I don't want to stand out too much but my curiosity is too much for me to handle. In 2 days I'll have the Guild's examination so I have to prepare. I'll go and ask that beautiful lady from earlier, I think her name was Liz, about the Guild and all the information that I might need. I'll do all the preparations tomorrow.

[Hey Mizuki, this here is the inn we are currently lodging at. It's a safe and clean place, so I think you'll like it.]

[Ok.]

What Mary showed me was a building less than half the size of the Guild with a signboard at the top of the door saying "The Rising Pavilion". We then entered and the inside looked pleasing to the eyes and there was a person at the counter that had what looked to be pointy ears.

Marc [Oh, welcome back Mary.]

Mary [I'm back Marc. Mizuki, this here is Marc, the owner of "The Rising Pavilion" and also an A-Class at the Guild. And Marc, I'll fill you in about Mizuki later.]

Marc [Nice to meet you little one.]

Mizuki [Hello.]

Marc [Ahh, is it your first time seeing an elf?]

Mary [It is her first time visiting a town as well. Mizuki, Are you going to stay in the same room as us or do want to be alone in your room?]

Marc [I'm sorry but you will have to be in separate rooms as we only have single rooms available right now.]

Mary [Oh, is that so.]

Mizuki [It's fine. I don't want to bother you more than I already have.]

Marc [Then I assume that Silver wolves will be paying for this one here?]

Mary [Yes, that is correct.]

Marc [Then here is your key. Make sure to leave it here with me when you go out. We also provide food here at the first bell in the morning and the last bell at night.]

Mizuki [Thank you.]

Marc was smiling at us with a gentle smile as she sent us off to our rooms. We got in front of Mary and her party's room and it looks like our rooms are next to each other. How nice of Marc to do that.

[Then I think I'll go to sleep now. Thank you for everything so far Mary.]

[No problem, but it's still morning you know? I know we just got back from the forest and everything but you can't be that sleepy already right?]

[I'm not sure but I feel really sluggish and tired so maybe I just got too tired or my vampire instincts are telling me to sleep in the morning.]

[Ok then. I'll inform Grey and the others then. You go and rest for now, I'll show you around town tomorrow.]

[Thank you again.]

[Sleep well.]

I entered my room and closed the door behind me. I'm really glad that I have met nice people since I woke up, Grey and his silver wolves, Steven, Liz, Leah the Guild Master, and Marc. If you ignore Kevin and his party, then all the people I've met so far have been nice people, Steven might've been cautious of me but that can't be helped.

My room looked to be quite nice, There was a bed, a table and chair, and a window. It had a refreshing and relaxing feel to it. But now that I feel really groggy, I can't enjoy this sight any longer and I headed to my bed. I fell on my bed and immediately fell asleep. I'll worry about everything else when I wake up.
