5 Chapter 5: A Walk...
We went to sleep after the sun was no longer visible with Silver wolves taking turns on night watch. I offered to keep watch at night because I was a half-vampire, but they didn't let me and told me to rest from the fight with the wolves and the bear. I couldn't quite sleep though so I just lied down on my makeshift bed on a tent with Anne and Mary, I was alone though since Mary was on the first shift of night watch with Grey, while Anne needed to finish up the needed treatment for the Dragon slayers party. And so with nothing to do, I decided to check my status, because it might have changed after the fight with the wolves and the bear. I forgot to check their statuses because of the situation but I believe that they were all quite strong. And so I chanted Status.

It looks like I leveled up quite a lot, it's most likely because of the Slaughter bear. I also got 3 more skills. I can't really do anything else but just check my condition through status so after confirming that no other change happened, I closed it and got up from my bed. I went outside because I was bored and saw Max and Mary talking at the campfire, so I went to them.
Max [Are you not resting Mizuki?]
Mary [You should just rest and let us take care of the night. You should have been tired after that fight right?]
Mizuki [I already told you that I'm not really that tired at all.]
Mary [Are you truly sure?]
Mizuki [Yes. Where did Grey go? I thought it was Grey and Mary's shift for night watch?]
Max [It was...until Kevin woke up and started a ruckus. Ah, Kevin is their leader.]
Mary [He just woke up and started to yell at Anne. Of course, me and Grey heard it and Grey went to calm him down. He woke up Max for night watch because they will most likely take a while.]
Mizuki [I see.]
Mary [And so? Why'd you come out?]
Mizuki [I got bored, so I thought on a walk or something for a bit]
Max [In the middle of the night?]
Mizuki [I can see quite clearly so I think I'll be fine.]
Mary [Even so...]
Mizuki [I leveled up after that fight and I also won't go too far. I will also run back if something bad happens.]
Max [Mizuki is probably stronger than us so it's fine. You also saw that kick's power right?]
Mary [...Fine. But be careful alright?]
Mizuki [Of course. I'll be back in a little bit.]
And so, I went away from the camp.
I walked for a bit until I encountered another monster. This one didn't look like the wolves or the bear, but it looked more humanoid and bigger. They were in a group of 6 and are quite big compared to humans. The shocking thing about them...is that they were all asleep defenseless.
Because they were all asleep, I approached them while thinking of what to do with them. As I approached one of them, when I was about 2 heads away, he suddenly sat up and lazily opened his eyes. His eyes then fell on me and because of him suddenly waking up, I just stared back. After a moment of awkward silence, the monster roared, waking up his 5 buddies. And now they were all looking at me with eyes of lust.
I didn't expect that something like this would happen but they still most likely followed their instincts as they still hadn't attacked and was quietly observing me. Because nothing would happen if we just stared at each other, I kicked off the ground, blasting myself towards the nearest of them. and punched his face with all my power. My punch had made that monster get knocked far away and even after tumbling for a while, he never got up again. My sudden action clearly shocked them and they hurriedly tried to attack back, but I was faster and I cast a magic of mine at the next nearest monster to me.
[Shadow Bind!]
The nearest monster to me got his movements concealed by his own shadow and now he is struggling around but I doubt he'll be able to move anytime soon. With 2 of their buddies out of the fight, the remaining 4 hastily swung their huge arms at me. I quickly dodged and fell back a couple of meters, and once again casted magic. I wanted to use more magic to further increase my arsenal.
[Wind Slash!]
A transparent and sharp looking wind blew towards one of the monsters and slashed him from his chest to his right leg. He bellowed a pained cry and fell to the ground. That was 1 more monster down and now the remaining 3 were hesitating. I took this chance to get closer and slammed my fist at another monster's stomach, making him faint and fall. I also kicked the other monster's side at the same time, making him roll and stop at a tree. The last one of the monsters, seeing his friends beaten quickly, ran towards the forest at full speed. I wouldn't want to let my prey get away so I cast magic once more.
[Earth Wall!]
A wall of earth emerged from the ground in front of the fleeing monster and he bumped into it face first and fell on his backside. I quickly closed in on him and kicked his head at full power, making his head smash against the earth wall and splashing the area in its blood. I also crushed the monster I bound earlier by tightening the bind until it exploded into bits and pieces of meat. And now the battle is over, though it was more one-sided, I am now contemplating on what to do with the mess I created, there was blood everywhere and 4 almost unharmed bodies of monsters. The smell of blood was also making me hungry, so I went over to the body of the first monster I had killed and brought its nape close to my mouth, I bit into it and started sucking its blood out. I may only be a mixed type of vampire but that didn't suppress my vampiric urges. I sucked on its blood until I was full.
Once I was finished filling my hunger, I gathered the 5 bodies and suddenly I remembered that I had blood and space magic. Maybe I can store these bodies in there? I closed my eyes and thought of storing the bodies somewhere that won't damage them, I then felt something enter on my body. When I opened my eyes again, the bodies were no longer there, I looked around and they were nowhere to be found. It's impossible for some monster to take all of them with me noticing so I closed my eyes once again and thought of bringing the monster's bodies out, I suddenly felt something exit my body. I opened my eyes and they were all in front of me again, in a neat fashion. I once again stored the bodies somewhere in my body and gathered all the blood in the area with wind magic. I didn't know what I should do with it so I just decided to store it in my body as well. All that's left in the area was the earth wall and some broken trees. I used earth magic to make the wall part of the ground again and just left the trees as is and headed back to camp. After that fight with those big monsters, I felt satisfied and sleepy now.
Once I arrived back at the camp, I saw an alert Grey and a silent Jack.
[Hello, I'm back.]
[You took quite a while. What did you do?]
[Just a walk. Why are you so tense?]
[I heard an orc in the distance.]
[Orc?]
[They're ugly creatures that only have eating, sleeping, and lust on their minds. They are over 6 meters tall and always wanders in groups. A lone one is only C-Class, but a group of 5 or more can get up to A-Class. Even for veterans they're dangerous, and if you're not careful enough, you can say goodbye to your life.]
[Oh, really?]
[What's up with that reaction?]
[It's just that I encountered 6 of them on my walk.]
[6!?]
Grey suddenly shouted, causing me to reflexively cover my ears, and stood up, along with Jack.
[Yeah, here.]
Saying so, I brought out the corpses of the 5 behind me.
Grey [...]
Jack [...]
Mizuki [...Is this bad?]
Grey [...Why am I even surprised...you said there were 6 right? there's only 5 behind you.]
Mizuki [Oh! The other 1 got squashed.]
Grey [...I don't even know how to react to that.]
Jack [Don't worry boss. She's the first of her kind so you shouldn't expect common sense from her.]
Grey [You might be right huh.]
Mizuki [I don't know how to feel about that.]
After that little interaction, Grey and Jack went to dismantle the corpses. While I, on the other hand, went to my tent. I saw Anne and Mary there already sleeping. Come to think of it, what happened with Kevin I wonder? Well, I can just ask tomorrow. And with that, I lied down on my bed and went to sleep.
