42 - Chp 041: Memories Of The Sport

Black's POV

"I'll be right back." White said. "I have to get my things in the classroom."

"Sure. I'll just be waiting here." I replied as I sat down on the bleachers.

He waved goodbye and ran to the classroom to get his stuff. I have no idea why he just didn't get his stuff before we left the classroom. It could've been way easier.

"Hey, Black." I heard somebody call me. I turned my head and saw Lilac walking towards me. "Where's White?" She asked.

"He went back the classroom to get his stuff." I replied.

"Oh, right. My stuff. I forgot I still have to get those. I'll be right back."

"Want me to come with?"

"N-no. No need. I'll be fine."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah. Don't worry about me." She said as she left the gym.

And I'm alone again. I looked around the gym and saw a basketball rolling on the ground. I walked towards it and picked it up. There's nothing else to do anymore, so might as well try to play. I don't remember the last time I played basketball. I think it was four years ago... Who did I even play with back then? I'm sure that I know how to play, but why can't I remember who I used to play it with? Shit, something might be wrong with me...

I took my stance and tried to shoot the ball. It missed, so I ran and caught the ball to try again. I took the shot again, but it missed a second time. Well, third time's the charm. I held my ground, and-

"Do you know how to play basketball?"

Shit! Argh! My head hurts like hell!

I dropped the ball and dropped to my knees. I felt like my head was literally trying to explode from the inside. What the hell was that voice? It sounded so familiar, but I don't remember anything...

The pain slowly faded away, and I stepped away from the basketball. I think it might've been what triggered that memory.

I could hear footsteps coming towards the gym. It must be Lilac and White. The two of them walked in the gym and waved hello to me.

"Hey, what took you guys so long?" I asked.

"It was nothing." Lilac replied. "White just helped me fix my stuff."

"Oh, is that so? Alright then. We should get going before the mall gets more crowded than it already is."

I picked my bag up from the bleachers and the three of us walked to the school's exit. We got there and fixed our stuff in the lockers. I closed mine and looked towards the gate. I spot a boy in a black uniform carrying a paper bag leaning on the pillar by the gate. He looked like he was waiting for someone.

We continued walking to the gate. The boy saw us and started to head towards us.

"Hey, do any of you know him?" White asked.

"Not me." I replied.

The boy then handed the paper bag to Lilac. "Here. Clothes." He said, but didn't show any emotions on his face. He had messy brown hair and dark yellow eyes. He honestly looked like he just woke up, but he was really good looking. He almost reminds me of myself when I talk to the grey figures. But the weirdest part about this boy was his color. He had a cool blue color, but it was flickering. His colors looked like it was almost vanishing.

"Thank you, Cerulean." Lilac replied. "Sorry for dragging you all the way here."

"You know him, Lilac?" White asked.

"Yeah. He's actually..."

The boy put his arm around Lilac. "Her boyfriend." He said.

"Boyfriend?" I asked.

"Y-yeah..." Lilac replied. "He's my boyfriend. Cerulean, this is Black and White. They're my friends from this school." She introduced us. "And guys, this is Cerulean. If you don't mind, he's gonna come with us to the mall."

"Nice to meet you." White said as he put his hand out for a handshake. He avoided eye contact with him and looked at Lilac.

"Come on. It's just a handshake." Lilac tried to convince him. He shook his head. "Fine. Sorry, guys. He's a bit shy." She explained. "I'll be right back. I have to change my clothes." She said as she ran back inside the school.

Well, that could've gone a lot better.

I suddenly felt a light tap on my shoulder. I turned around and saw White. "Why?" I asked.

"I feel devastated." He replied. "Comfort me, my one and only best friend." He said as he leaned on him.

"I can't believe it too." I replied. "But don't you think her boyfriend is a bit..." There's honestly something off about him.

"What?" He asked. We both looked at Cerulean and saw him sitting down on the ground, hugging his knees. What the hell is he doing?

"Hey!" I exclaimed as I walked to him and put my hand out to help him up. "Don't sit there! It's dirty!" Cerulean just stared at me and moved his face closer to mine. "What? What do you want?" I asked.

"You're pretty." He said. What the hell did this guy just say?

"What?? Did you hit yourself in the head? Stand up, man." He grabbed my hand and stood up. "Doesn't that feel better?"

"Yes." He replied. He continued to look at me with a blank expression on his face. I have no idea what this guy is thinking and it's pissing me off.

Lilac arrived some moments later wearing casual clothes. She looked really pretty, but it was odd. Even though Cerulean claimed to be her boyfriend, he didn't seem to be interested in how she looked.

"So, uh... Cerulean, was it?" I asked as the four of us started to walk towards the train station. "What school do you go to?"

He turned his head to Lilac, almost looking like he was asking for permission from a parent. Lilac nodded and he faced me again. "East High." He replied.

"East High? I've never heard of it. Is it near here?"

"No. I took three trains."

"Three trains?! Dude, what the hell?" He stopped talking and just looked at me. "What is it? Is there something on my face?" I asked.

"You're really pretty." He replied.

"This again? Stop saying that stuff. Your girlfriend is here. She'd be jealous if she hears you saying stuff to another person." I wonder why this guy keeps saying that. This is the second time he's said that.

"Lilac..." He whispered.

"Huh? What is it about Lilac?" I asked.

He looked at me, then at Lilac, then back to me. He mumbled something I couldn't understand, not avoiding eye contact. I felt like it was something important, but I really couldn't understand what it was.

"Sorry, what?" I asked. "I couldn't get what you were saying."

He turned his head away, suddenly avoiding eye contact with me. "Nothing." He replied.

We didn't talk the rest of the way. It was awkward, and when I tried to talk to him, he would ignore me. Lilac and White were talking a lot, and I didn't wanna interrupt their love time. What's really weird was that Cerulean didn't care at all. White was talking to Lilac, but he wasn't fazed. I'm starting to doubt if they're actually dating or not.
