41 - Chp 040: Our Little Secret

White's POV

What the hell? Why would they write these on Lilac's desk?

"White?" A voice from behind me asked. I turned around and saw Lilac by the door. "What are you-" She covered her mouth.

"Lilac..."

She walked towards me and covered my mouth. "Please... Don't tell anyone about this..." She begged with tears flowing down from her eyes.

"Hey... I want to help you, Lilac." I replied. "But I can't help you without getting other people involved."

"Then... Then I don't need help. White, please... Don't tell anybody what you saw here today. It'll just be our little secret..."

"I-I understand... I won't tell anyone about this."

"Thank you, White. Just forget this ever happened." She said as she pulled me into a tight hug.

My heart was beating fast. I wonder if hers is too... It hurts me that I can't do anything to help her. She doesn't want anyone to know, but if I ask for help, I'm sure they'll do something. I just have to figure out a way to help her without her knowing.

We cleaned her desk and headed to Black, who was waiting for us at the gym. He was smart enough to bring his bag with him to the locker room, so he didn't have to come all the way back here. I guess it's a good thing he brought his bag. He wouldn't want to see what happened.

"Hey, what took you guys so long?" Black asked.

"It was nothing." Lilac replied. "White just helped me fix my stuff."

"Oh, is that so? Alright then. We should get going before the mall gets more crowded than it already is."

The three of us proceeded to walk towards the school's exit. We passed a lot of empty classrooms. It was like the school was abandoned. There was absolutely nobody in sight.

We got to the exit. I looked in front of us and saw a boy in a black uniform leaning on the pillar by the gate of the school. He looked like he was waiting for someone.

We continued to walk until we were right in front of the gate. The boy noticed us and walked towards us. He was holding a paper bag.

"Hey, do any of you know him?" I asked.

"Not me." Black replied.

The boy handed Lilac the paper bag. "Here. Clothes." He said with a very stiff face. He didn't show any emotions on him. He had messy brown hair, looking almost like he just woke up. To add to this, his eyes also looked half-asleep. He was really good looking. He kinda reminds me of Black with how blank the expression on his face was. He was wearing a black uniform, but I couldn't see a logo to determine where he could be from.

"Thank you, Cerulean." Lilac replied. "Sorry for dragging you all the way here."

"You know him, Lilac?" I asked.

"Yeah. He's actually..."

The boy put his arm around Lilac. "Her boyfriend." He said.

Wait... Wait, wait, wait! Hold up! What?!

"Boyfriend?" Black asked.

"Y-yeah..." Lilac replied. "He's my boyfriend. Cerulean, this is Black and White. They're my friends from this school." She introduced us. "And guys, this is Cerulean. If you don't mind, he's gonna come with us to the mall."

"Nice to meet you." I said as I put my hand out for a handshake. He avoided eye contact with me and looked at Lilac.

"Come on. It's just a handshake." Lilac tried to convince him. He shook his head. "Fine. Sorry, guys. He's a bit shy." She explained. "I'll be right back. I have to change my clothes." She said as she ran back inside the school.

I walked closer to Black and tapped his shoulder. He looked at me. "Why?" He asked.

"I feel devastated." I replied. I mean, I just saw my crush's boyfriend. And just by looking at him, I already know I don't stand a chance. "Comfort me, my one and only best friend." I said as I leaned on him.

"I can't believe it too." He replied. "But don't you think her boyfriend is a bit..."

"What?" I asked. We both looked at Cerulean and saw him sitting down on the ground, hugging his knees.

"Hey!" Black exclaimed as he walked to him and put out his hand to help him up. "Don't sit there! It's dirty!" Cerulean just stared at him and moved his face closer. "What? What do you want?" Black asked.

"You're pretty." Cerulean said.

"What?? Did you hit yourself in the head? Stand up, man." Cerulean grabbed Black's hand and stood up. "Doesn't that feel better?"

"Yes." Cerulean replied.

"Hey, guys!" A voice from behind us exclaimed. We turned around and saw Lilac in casual clothes running towards us. She was wearing a plain white long sleeve sweater and a black skirt. She was also wearing a white beret and her hair was in a braid. She looked absolutely stunning. "Cerulean, why haven't you changed your clothes yet?" She asked.

"Changed my clothes?" He replied.

"Yeah, silly." She chuckled as she wiped some dirt off of him. "We're going to a mall. Are you really gonna wear your uniform?" God, I feel like such a background character right now.

"I didn't bring other clothes..." He said as he tilted his head down. "Are you disappointed in me?"

"What?? Of course not. I'm not disappointed." She replied as she gave him a hug. He doesn't really look like Lilac's boyfriend. If anything, he looked like a child Lilac was taking care of. "What about you guys?" She asked as she turned her head towards us. "Aren't you guys gonna change your clothes?"

"No. I'm fine with my clothes." Black replied.

"Yeah. Same." I added.

"So, uh... Cerulean, was it?" Black asked as the four of us started to walk towards the train station. "What school do you go to?"

Cerulean turned his head to Lilac, almost looking like he was asking permission to answer. Lilac nodded and Cerulean faced Black again. "East High." He replied.

"East High? I've never heard of it. Is it near here?"

The two were sucked into their own little conversation, so I approached Lilac. "How long have you two been together?" I asked.

"About a month." She replied. "He's adorable, isn't he?" That doesn't hurt one bit...

"Y-yeah. He is. Doesn't he seem a bit... Odd? I don't mean to offend anybody, but something just feels off about him."

She looked at me for a bit, then let put a big sigh. "Don't worry about it. He's really odd, but I guess it's what I like about him. It just makes you wanna take care of him, you know?" She said as she smiled.

"And does he know?"

"About what?"

"About what's happening to you at school. He's your boyfriend. He should be helping you, right?"

"White, he doesn't need to know."

"He has the right to know. He's your boyfriend."

"White!" She snapped. "I don't wanna hear this from you. Your best friend also has the right to know what's been happening to you, but I don't see you telling him anything. Please, just forget whatever happened. Don't do anything. Let's just enjoy this day, okay?"

She was smiling, but I could tell. Anybody could tell. She was hurting deep inside. I wanna help her so bad, but what can I do? She really doesn't want anyone to know...
