"You didn't even know, and you were already mine."

The heavy rainfall spatters on him, inundating every cell of his body which is wrapped in the Operational camouflaged uniform. His hair suffocated in a kevlar helmet, so his head won't be blown off. My fingers dwell motionless, clad in tactical gloves. The petrichor scent melded with the gust of summer breeze engulfs him.

Sounds cool right?

Not really.

Not when you are compelled to squat on the muddy turf, with your hands behind your head and gun on your head.

Yeah, you reckon right.

They are in fucked up situation.

And Kaiser Collins, as their captain, his body might lay in this sludge first.

"We want the way out of here!" the snobby man growl, kicking Kaiser's stomach.

Kaiser internally grunts in pain. As a soldier, the foremost thing taught to them is, to never show their pain to the enemies. Those bastards are trained to take advantage of it.

"Tell us the way!" he throws another kick in his abdomen.

Why torment us with ways? Don't they have google maps?  Kaiser thought

He bolsters eye contact with his two teammates who are right across him, in the same fucked up posture.

He winks looking at James.

"My wife is so pretty!" James blurts out.

This idiotic piece of

Yet, it worked. The three criminals aim their firearms right at James. Seizing the opportunity Kaiser yank the army knife from his boots and flings it at one of a smuggler.

The knife stabs him right where he hoped for. Throat.

And the chaos proceeds. James kicks the one with silverware while Liam, his other teammate takes care of another smuggler. Kaiser silently watches them fighting, his gaze dart over the thick bushes surrounding them. He grabs the firearm and shoots the man who was rolling in the mud with Liam.

"I would have done it, Captain," Liam says, breathing heavily and wiping the blood from his busted nose.

"We don't have time for that," Kaiser tells him, checking his handheld transceiver.

"Hey! Hey! Hey! Don't touch my penis!" James punches the guy in his jaw and Kaiser loads his chest with two bullets.

The rain continues sparkling on the three men, giving them chills and making the situation worst.

"They must have hidden the weapons in their car. The black car, we need to look for that," Liam's ragged breath echoes over the rain as he retrieves his captain's knife back from the smuggler's throat.

"V, the other team must have found the javelins," James says to Kaiser.

V is Kaiser's mission name. Cool right? To tell you the story that how the name was invented, we need to travel a little back in time. Now don't get excited, the story is that Kaiser wanted a one-letter name, therefore, his teammates came up with a mindblowing agenda (or at least they thought it was mindblowing) The agenda was that they wrote all twenty-six letter from A-Z in small chits and asked Kaiser to chose one while he was committing an important business on the toilet seat. So now you know the origin of V.

"We still need to back up our team," Kaiser instructs them and they flee further inside the deep forest. At least it's not dark, it would be great if the weather was in their favor. With vigilance rungs, making an effort not to create sound, they stride near a jet car. The dead bodies of their antagonists hoot in his and the nation's triumph.

"They did it," Liam exclaims, walking to the deserted car to inspect what he wants to inspect.

The rustling sound of bushes renders them to be alert. They instantly crop up a triangle with their backs touching each other, eyes scarping through all directions and gun aiming at whatever is about to come. Their pounding heart decompresses when a bird ensues through the thickets, rigid body relaxed and they chuckle at each other's drained faces.

Then the gunshot rings along with a howling of James and Liam. James shelters Kaiser, and the next thing he knows is his body stumbles into his arms. His eyes lower on James's bicep and his heart clenches, looking at the oozing blood.

"SHIT!" Liam plucks two revolvers in his hand and shoots haphazardly in the thickets.

"Rabby! Don't close your eyes" Kaiser slap James's cheek, placing his body on the ground. Now the origin of his name's is a story for later.

"I am good! Don't slap me!" James snaps with his eyes wide open and Kaiser knew he is gonna be alright. Getting bullets in their skin was nothing new to them but that doesn't mean they enjoyed it.

Gesturing at Liam, Kaiser steps into the bushes with two knives in his hands and confronts a guy with M4 Carbine. The guy was undoubtedly their enemy as shoots a smirk then drop his weapon.

"It's only satisfying when we are fair," smuggler screams over the pouring rain. Kaiser calmly let his gaze wander over his foe's body, mentally documenting the places where he can hit him for making James sacrifice his blood.

"Talking about morals don't go with your filthy blood dude," Kaiser drops one knife and flexes my shoulders, getting ready to fight. The smuggler drew his weapon from his boots and Kaiser shortly assessed his spear.

MK 3 Navy knife.

"Come on man, show what you got," he urges, taking a step back.

Bastard thinks that the Captain of special forces doesn't know the ground is occupied by land mines. It's a plus point for you if your opponent is overconfident or thinks you are a fool.

Slyly averting the mine, Kaiser lunged at the mule and swing his arm. Their knives slash with a screech, so do their bodies. They vehemently try to push each other then Kaiser sweeps his leg, swiping the smuggler's leg off of the ground due to which he was forced to be on his knees. The smuggler filled with rage, blows Kaiser's ribs making him slightly buckle, and that provided the smuggler a chance to slice the blade across the captain's arm. With a flamboyant grunt, Kaiser kicks the bastard hard, overpowering him to lay straight on his back.

A low pitch clink reverberates.

Smuggler's eyes dilate and a smirk creeps to Kaiser's lips. Just a meager sound held the authority to make the bootlegger decolorize and carrying him in a nigher to cardiac arrest.

"Enjoy, laying on a land mine," Kaiser waves his hand to the frozen frame of the man and collects his weapon, making his way to his injured friend.

"V! Fox, and Potter rushed Rabby to the car," Liam aka Jams acquaint peeking around the area, in case they were going to get ambushed.

"All the weapons are confiscated by us and all the smugglers have been caught, most of them are dead though," Austin aka Swag chirps.

"Let's go to the hospital. We are done here. Mission 0678A, completed," Kaiser proclaimed, and all sixteen of them smiles in aid, letting the breath of relief.

But the captain couldn't smile knowing his friend is injured.

All he can think is of James. As James is the youngest one among them, Kaiser has a weird sense of protection over him.

Three days fly by and they were granted leave. Well, it can't be considered as a leave since they are special forces. They have to flee whenever they are required. The next day James was shifted to the prominent central hospital and of course, all scheduled to visit him. Gladly, James was fine. He just had to go through minor surgery.

Walking into the hospital, Kaiser steps into the lift and punches the digits in the control.

"This is your report! Are you seriously a doctor!" Chief yells and just like in some dramatic soap opera where the fuming boss throws the paper at his employees, Bellona's files were thrashed on the crystal clear foundation.

Poor staff toiled hard to tidy up the office and audacity of this man! She thought. Bellona certainly can't say that aloud.

"Sorry, sir. I will remake it, I will redo the theory," her low mutter just earned an eye roll from him. She digs her nails in her palm so they won't jab his eyeballs.

"Dr. Ellis, I don't know what's wrong with you these days, but please get your intellect straight. I am sure you don't wanna tarnish your opportunity. Being a surgeon is not a joke Bellona. Only remarkably qualified doctors are recruited in this unit and I picked you. This report is absolute junk. I can just tell it's your last-minute work," his voice replenishes with disappointment make Bellona want to wrap herself in a burrito away from this bitter ground. Chief Tyler is not a man with sweet words. His eagle-like gaze and mouth that erupted acid never failed to provoke fresh interns to cry for his mercy. She was no different. No, no, of course, he couldn't make her cry. But stress enough to strive harder and feel that she is not enough.

The feeling of not enough always getting her. She wants to be perfect for a bazillion reasons but the foremost reason- To make her mom proud and never let her down.

"I genuinely apologize. I promise Chief, I won't dishearten you further," she confidently persuades him and compiles her shattered thesis.

"You have two days," Tyler said, plopping down on his fluffy black leather chair, eyeing the girl silently picking up the papers.

"But, two days ar-

He hushes her with his piercing gaze.

"You are so generous, Chief. I am so fortunate to have you," Bellona flash him a wide fake smile, wrapping her ID card around his neck, and choked him.

In her imagination.

Rolling his eyes, Tyler gestures her to walk out of his cabin cause he knew that smile hides the words - I would have to kill you chief but the food in jail is crap.

Bellona again smiles him a brook smile and saunter out of the hell hole, closing up the door behind her.

She kisses her fist and punches him.

In the ingenuity.

"Jerk! Asshole! Bastard! Sewage worm! Jerkass! Jackass! Slimeball! Varmint! Sleazebag! Cra-aaa.....

She trails off when the door abruptly swings open and Tyler bestows her an extinction glare. She honestly doesn't feel scared, she would have if he was a snobby old man with grim glass hanging on his nose bridge. But Tyler is a handsome man with just an execrable attitude.

Coming up with a witty response (at least for it was for her), "I was talking to...

She grabs hold of a random person, who miraculously happens to be her best friend.

"Him!" She firmly states, sloping her hand on Logan's shoulder. The poor boy doesn't even seem aghast, presumably used to Bellona being Bellona.

"Get. Out!" Tyler strikes and Bellona hauls Logan through the foyer, resisting bumping into any species of human.

"Hey! Bella! I am going to check a patient!" He grunts and the mention of the patient halt her legs forthwith.

Patients, their fundamental priority.

"Oh sorry!" She untangles his coat which crinkled in the process of running from the handsome condescending guy. She stares at the heaps of files in her hand and pout then looks at Logan, giving him puppy eyes.

"I told you not to get submerged in nonessential stuff, Bella. Look how negligent you are," Dismissing her miserable face, he goes through the charts in his hand. A low sound of frustration vibrates from her.

"You just need a prospect to drag my love life. I just came back from LA assisting a successful surgery. Shut it already," she rolls her eyes and leans on the white tiles, thinking how in the world she is going to deliver a speech as a General Surgeon to the aspiring general surgeons. She has been in their place to listen to that boring speech and she doesn't want to be counted in the list of boring doctors of the hospital.

"Aww, don't worry. We will celebrate your success at night. It's been long that we didn't grab drinks," Logan ruffles her hair which was already looking like a nest. His black intense eyes glinted with happiness and his pale lips stretched in a wide smile, making me know that he is proud of his best friend.

"I haven't wash them," Bellona quietly mutters and Logan instantly retrieves his hand back, wiping them on her coat with his infamous you-disgust-me glare. She discovered that glare when an old lady who was supposedly his patient, tried to seduce him. Logan puked for hours cause that hag's tits kept popping up in his mind. That day, Lexi and Bellona watched cartoons with him all night to bleach the nauseating sight.

"Gross," he comments before flapping the files in his hand and hopping down to his way.

Bellona glare at the chronicles in her hands and scream. Internally.

"Why don't I have that Doraemon's bread? I can just paste it on the book and attain the proficiency!" She drops her shoulders to be superfluous theatrical then dawdle around for the elevator.

"Side! Side! Make the way!" A doctor cries out, and three nurses rush the man drenched in blood to the Emergency elevator.

Miseries are like uninvited guests. They crashed in our lives as if they own it.

No memorandum.

No warnings.

They just show up and we have to entertain them.

Being a doctor, Bellona has witnessed numerous deaths, sorrows, she has witnessed the walls of hospitals mourning with the screeching cries of people.

Just a week ago she assisted in the surgery.

They lost a patient.

The patient wasn't hers's though. She wasn't leading the surgery but yet it hurts like crazy. When she knows she has the leverage to conserve lives and yet she couldn't.

It shatters her heart.

The jingles of the elevator yank her from her daze and the silver door parts.

Bellona raise her head from the files in her hands and her breath clamps when her eyes met the esoteric pair of marine eyes.

She stood still like a boulder at the unexpected vista.

"Ummm aren't you getting in?" Kaiser's deep, smooth voice asks her. She blinks like a nincompoop and trudges in like a robot.

His eyes dwindle looking at the odd woman but he didn't say anything. Bellona reaches her hand to punch the floor digits on the controller but discovers he wants to get off the same floor. The metallic door shuts close with a chiming noise.

The air in the lift replenishes with a woody scent radiating from him. Bellona peeks at the man through her peripheral vision not precisely knowing why she is looking at him.

Lie.

She is looking at him cause he is exceptionally handsome

If he isn't a male model, he should have been. The lush, raven damp hair was in a casual jumble, the messy bad boy look that flirted well with his crescent-of-moon eyebrows. The aquiline nose he donned complemented his prominent cheekbones carved down towards a jaw. Damn, his jawline. His nose twitched and he creases it with his knuckles. His austere shoulders reflected his strength, his everything screams athletic.

Adorned in a crisp white shirt, which is loosely tugged in his dark jeans. His shirt sported his hard muscles beneath and Bellona feel like a pervert staring at the exposed tanned skin of his chest.

She notices a bruise on the corner of his chapped lips. All of sudden he moisture his lips, licking them, and slowly turns his head in her direction.

Their eyes meet and she flinches dropping her flies on the ground.

Nice, Bell. Keep going.

"I will help you," he instantly crouches down. Bellona's eyes pop out of the socket when she beholds the gun tugged in his jeans.

Holy crap! Is he a murderer? Thief Terrorist? Damn. What if he kills me? No one will even know that I died in the elevator since the cameras aren't functioning. But what if snatch that gun away from him. I can save myself and the patients and the hospital. Yes, I will be their savior.

The smart girl doesn't allow her preposterous making-up-stuff-cause-I-am-imaginative brain to cross another notion and jumps on Kaiser's back, encircling her arm around his neck, strangling him from behind.

"Ahh...what the heck? Miss. What are you doing!" Kaiser attempts to peel off her hand but with every ounce of her strength, Bellona compresses her grip. Her other hand ventures down to the south to seize the gun but before she can work her being a savior plan further, his large hand grabs her left arm and he swiftly pulls her down. Bellona let out a scream, closing her eyes shut, prepared to have her back slam on the floor. But it never happens.

She hears his unkempt breath and feels his arms wrapped around me tightly. Her eyes fluttered open only to meet his liquid blue reservoirs of flashing flame. He was hunched on his knee and she is practically spread in his arms like cheese on pizza the only difference was, their posture isn't that smooth. The swirl of his earthly cologne and the warmth of his body stirred with a tinge of smoke make her swoon. He slants his head scarcely, studying the face of the girl in his arms and a corner of his lips lifts in a diminutive smile. Bellona's eyes enlarged finally excavating her sanity crushed under her own feet and push him. She crawls reversed, away from the threat. Her back knocks on the door of the elevator and she scurries to stand on her feet.

"L..look, I am warning you! Don't even touch me," she warns the man, sticking on the entrance like a lizard.

"Wasn't it another way around? I recalled you jumping on me," Kaiser asserts pointing at the girl who was awhile being a lizard then turns his finger towards him. A mirth smile never plummets off his lips, he resumes enjoying the situation. A lot.

"Th-that's absurd!" The girl stutter, fastening to the entrance further, expecting the floor or door to swallow her.

A Cheshire grin slithers on his face and he creases his nose with his knuckles. Taking a step closer and placing his one hand on the door, he smiles at her.  Neglecting to breathe, Bellona doesn't dare to move, she was frightened but mostly she was enthralled by the deep flawless dimples fiddled on his cheeks.

That's it. I am dying. A handsome man is killing me. Bye-bye world.

His gaze trails down to her coat and lulls at the copper metallic insignia pinned.

"Dr. Bellona Ellis," he speaks slowly, locking his eyes with her.

"That's not me," Bellona whisper. Noticing the girl being uncomfortable, Kaiser immediately shifts away, but still kept his hand above her head.

"Your name is as gorgeous as you Dr. Bellona. But you see, maybe you misunderstood me."

Bellona discerns that the lift ceased when Kaiser moves his hand away from the door, still holding her gaze. She doesn't move, she knew she should. But she doesn't. The door parts and she stumbles back frantically flapping her hands. Kaiser's eyes magnify and thanks to his reflexes, he clasps her tiny hand in his, preventing her skull to crack open. Bellona stares down at the floor and then at Kaiser as he effortlessly pulls her suspending body towards him, pressing their fronts barely, and yet a shiver runs down her spine.

"You smell like strawberries," he abrades his nose and gesture at their joint hands which were settled between their chests.

"Too bad. I am allergic to strawberries,"  whispering, he withdrew his hand from her and as he kept the door parted with his foot, he steps out.

Bellona stares at him dumbstruck then Kaiser unexpectedly swivels his head and their gazes collides. A smile stretches over his lips and-

He winks.

Why he seems so familiar?
