2 Stranger and Stranger

"Ugh, my head...Wait didn't I say that before?" Alan rubbed his head but quickly noticed there wasn't an injury.

"That's odd.....ugh.. Now I really screwed up." Alan slowly got back up on his feet and looked around to see if anything seemed familiar, but he was quickly reminded that nothing seemed familiar.

"I wonder if.." Alan glanced up at a nearby tree.

"Alright. No point in thinking too hard." He said as he bent his knees and in a mere second he jumped up. However, he didn't realize how much power he used and ended up overshooting it by a lot.

"Oh no...Ahhhhhh!!" Alan screamed, shutting his eyes as he began to fall, but suddenly something happened.

The sense of falling was gone!

Alan then slowly opened his eyes to find out that he was floating!

He was floating in the air!

"Wow!! This is awesome!" Alan shouted as he started to do an odd dance midair.

He then began to laugh at how he was doing something even more unusual than what he did earlier. However, that excitement was quickly torn to pieces and replaced with amazement.

The scenery made him feel incredibly small.

The blazing sun was high in the clear blue sky, and its light exposed the lush forest that went on for miles in all directions.

Alan suddenly looked to his left, "Those aren't supposed to be there right?" He asked himself as his eyes widened from shock while looking at four massive mountains grouped side by side, forming a natural wall.

*Sqwaaak*

The deafening cry of some kind of large bird was heard, but Alan couldn't see a single thing as he couldn't exactly move that well in midair

"Where--" Alan suddenly felt claws wrap around his arms before he was taken away against his own will. He looked up to see the culprit and immediately started to freak out at seeing what looked to be a giant white bird.

"Holy shit! Birds don't get that this big!!!" Alan hysterically screamed at the top of his lungs as he tried to break free from the grasp of the bird's feet.

"Come on! Aren't I super strong? Why can't I break free?!" Alan complained as he figured with common sense if he could jump this high then he should be super strong!

Alan was indeed super strong, but he wasn't dealing with an ordinary creature.

"...Quit squirming you, human. It's annoying trying to maintain a grip on you."

"Huh? Who said that?" Alan stopped as he thought he heard a voice inside of his head.

"You humans can be so stupid, and don't you realize what you were doing was dangerous?"

Alan looked up at the bird who was about the size of a small plane. Its entire body was covered in white feathers, and oddly enough it was using four wings to fly through the air. Two on both sides! The bird was actually quite pleasing to look at as if it was some kind of sacred animal.

"...The bird is talking?!"

"How rude calling me a bird. I should just leave you to die!"

Alan didn't quite understand what was going on, but something told him that the creature was trustworthy despite the crude way of carrying him off to an unknown destination.

Alan gathered enough courage to talk to the creature directly, "Who are you exactly?"

"Really? Don't you know what I am? I am known as the White Death by you humans, but I will rather be called by the name I picked out...Haukea!" The creature shouted with pride.

"Haukea...strange..."

"Strange?! You're strange! Your whole family is strange!!" Haukea shouted.

"Ok Ok! Don't get worked up about it. It's a nice name." Alan quickly replied with a smile on his face.

"Ugh...Whatever, I think we are far enough now." Haukea said as she started to fly lower once she was closer to the mountains. There was a flowing river cutting a path in between two of the mountains, and she instantly dropped Alan right over it.

"W-wait what are you doooooing!" Alan screamed as he fell, he had hoped he was going to float again, but it seems the first time was but a fluke.

*Splash!* His body plummeted straight into the cold water below, feeling pain all over his body from the impact. However, he managed to stay conscious and swam up to the surface as quickly as possible.

Haukea landed on the cleared ground not too far away from where she released the young man and found it quite comical seeing the human in distress.

"Hey! What was that for?!" Alan said as he gasped for air once he was back on land. He glanced at the bird to see that she was using one of her wings to cover her mouth to muffle her laughter.

"Y-you are laughing at me!" Alan gritted his teeth as he stormed over to her.

"Oh? So what if I am? What are you going to do about it?" Haukea said as she spreads her wings apart in a threatening posture.

"I'mgonnnabe...wai what'd ya do to m..." Alan's words became jumbled up and slurred as his eyes rolled back into his head.

*Thud*

Alan passed out and fell onto the ground.

It would seem that he had passed out for the second time now.

"A strong one. I was wondering how long it would take for him to pass out after draining his mana. Now I need to release it.."

Huakea's entire body started to glow brilliantly with white light, and her body gradually began to shrink.

*************************************

Hours later

It was now nighttime, and Alan found himself waking up next to a warm blazing fire.

"Ugh..why do I keep waking up like this," Alan said as he rubbed his head, but then he suddenly realized he had clothes on. The clothes on his body comprised of a simple white t-shirt and a pair of jeans which were a bit tattered.

"Finally awake?" An unfamiliar female voice asked, and almost immediately Alan looked towards the direction of the sound.

"Woah.."

In front of him was a gorgeous woman with long white hair and green eyes that seemed to glow in the dark. She was wearing a simple dress that was a bit tattered, but it didn't make her any less beautiful.

"You owe me now human. I had to be reduced to his form after draining your magic, and even now it leaks out of you like a massive waterfall."

"Wait...you! Haukea?!" Alan's eyes widened from shock as he became mesmerized by the unusual woman.

"How did you.." Alan lost himself in thought as his eyes looked towards Haukea's considerably large chest.

"Insignificant pervert!" Haukea scowled as she immediately moved faster than Alan could see and in an instant, he felt pain on his left cheek.

*Boom*

Alan was launched into the ground several feet away, and he immediately tasted dirt as it filled his mouth.

"Ptooey! Ugh, sick!" Alan spits out the dirt and wipes his mouth before using the nearby water to clean it.

"What are you trying to do?! Kill me?!" He growled.

"Hmph! That would have been the best result. I can't believe I thought you to be someone like me..." Haukea's shoulders slightly dropped as she looked down for a moment before she returned to being angry.

Haukea immediately sat down next to the fire with her back towards Alan.

"..." Alan could only stare at Haukea in silence as she looked incredibly lonesome. He then slowly walked over to the fire and sat on the opposite side of Haukea.

"So, about earlier...what did you mean about saving my life?"

"Your mana is constantly gushing out of your body, and it was attracting monsters to you. I drained it to keep them off our trail."

"Mana? Wait, monsters like you?"

"...Yes, and I happened to be the quickest. I wanted to eat you and make your mana my own." Haukea said as Alan unconsciously moved back once he felt the air around Haukea change. The feeling told him Haukea indeed not a human, but a bloodthirsty monster.

"But when I got closer...I thought you were someone like me with your white hair, and I was fooled up until the moment I grabbed you..." Haukea sighed regretfully as the air around her returned to normal.

"How come you didn't kill me straight away then?"

"When I grabbed you...I felt...nevermind."

"Wait a minute...One more question. Where did you get these clothes?"

"And you believe that to be an important question?" Haukea asked with a raised eyebrow as if she was questioning Alan's intelligence.

"Yes...?"

There was then silence between the two as the night continued.
