1 The Dare

Isabella's P.O.V

I wiped my sweaty hands on my skirt for the nth time while nervously looking at his table and by his table, I meant Tristan's table where he was seated with his mates. His legs spread out, head leaned back, resting on the chair while he held an unlit cigarette between his fingers. He wore a black tee that clung to his muscles, his tattoos full at display, he didn't even go out of his way to look good and yet he looked effortlessly captivating. His posture looked almost at peace but his aura screamed danger. He looked like a prince, and damn if he isn't the mafia prince. I gulped and looked at my best friend for help but she just raised her hands in surrender.

The boys always sat in the dark, in the corner of the cafeteria. My heart pounded in my ears as I kept staring at them, him in particular. I wouldn't be surprised if I had a cardiac arrest on spot honestly, I was shitting myself already, well not really but.

"Isa, come on, its not that much of a big deal, you just have to kiss him and get it over with"

came Leo's voice, one of our friends, specifically the person who gave me the dare to kiss Tristan, and what did he just say? Not much of a big deal? Bullshit.

"Easier said than done" I mumbled under my breath which earned me eyerolls from everyone. Why am I friends with them again?

"It's not like he'll kill you for kissing him" said my "best friend". I shot her a glare, she better be kidding me right now because they know damn well he just might shoot me. But being the stupid girl I am, I mentally said fuck this shit, before gathering up my courage and standing up from my chair. "Let's get this over with" I muttered and took a few deep breaths before sauntering over to their table. It can't be that bad, or can it?

With every step I took, my heartbeat only got louder, loud to the point that it was deafening my ear. Am I really about to die like this? Were my last thought before everything stopped and I paused. I was two steps away from their table before he opened his eyes.

His friends looked at me with amused eyes but I couldn't look at them for long because a certain brown eyed mafia boy had my undivided attention. He stared at me for a moment before he gave me a once over. Did he just check me out? The scary part was his expression, it gave nothing away and he was calm, like a tiger who watched his prey before pouncing on them.

"what do you want, doll"?

came someone's voice from his table but I was too caught up in the staring contest with Tristan. I licked my lips and his eyes followed the movement, I watched his jaw clench and eyes darkening and hell if that didn't scare me. I took a hesitant step towards him before clenching my hands in a fist and sliding on his lap swiftly. His eyes widened for a fraction of seconds which I'm sure I'd have missed if I wasn't so close to his face. My heavy breathing and quick heart rate was the only thing audible between us before I did exactly what I came here for. I kissed him.
