This Was Not Planned. Really.

On a continent constantly plagued by unnatural weather and filled with unnatural fauna in a strange ecosystem filled with very few different types of beasts, there existed a pack of Apex Predators that constantly fought amongst themselves.

The fighting was not akin to something of a skirmish but more so akin to war.

The 'Pack' mentioned was by no means a small one. Its area of influence spanning the entire continent and far beyond. The number of predators in that pack range in the millions.

Yet it was without a semblance of order and further, without leader, without ruler.

Constant chaotic battles took place at the continent's centre. Flames hot enough that one might guess they came from Hell and conjured ice as cold to the touch as the loneliest and darkest corner of the galaxy.

The battlefield took up more space than most empires have conquered during their entire history of existence added together.

The planet this particular continent was on was beyond measure in size.

Unnatural to the point that one would mistake it for a dim star due to its size.

This attested to the sheer size of the constant warring on said battlefield.

The continent in question, where apex predators reign and prey must pray daily to keep surviving, has never been fully explored.

No, not even partially explored. No sentient species from outside the continent, be they Elf, Orc, Dwarf, Human, Beastkin, Demon, Angel, Ancient Beast or other, has reached deep enough to find even a trace of the central battlefield of apex predators.

Some travellers lucky enough to survive their small trip say that at the centre of the battlefield, there is a lake filled with stars and gems, gushing with riches and mana that could make one an emperor so great they could rule the entire world.

The rumours of the lake have long spread across the entire planet, and the knowledge that a constant battle was being fought was found by an ancient sage who studied the constant tremors, quakes, disasters and mana flow of the area some few centuries ago.

None even questioned the information about the place in question.

It was considered common knowledge that one should stay far away from it and hope that no predator from deep in the continent would ever escape out, or rather choose to leave.

The predators in question were where the continent gained its name in the first place.

The Great Dragon Continent of the West.

Amid the politics between kingdoms and empires, the topic of this continent was one of constant debate.

Never had anyone even suggested attacking the place as the counterattack of the apex species of the planet, the Dragons could wreak havoc in entire national alliances.

What was debated though, was the possibility of a ruler emerging at some point. It was unlikely but inevitable.

If and only 'IF' a ruler of sorts were to emerge from the battlefield of thousands of Ancient Dragons, it could mean the end of all other sapient species on the planet.

What else would one assume from a force of hundreds of thousands of Adult Dragons and older?

Even though most of the Dragon population were children, they were left to fend for themselves before even their birth.

Eggs of Dragons filled entire valleys, only ones of strong birth surviving the battle for food, the first ever battle of their lives.

The Dragon species was effectively keeping their population somewhat in check by themselves.

And if they weren't the ones unknowingly keeping it in check, no one expendable enough could be sent to kill near millions of newly born dragons.

Politics is a hell of an issue whenever the Great Dragon Continent is brought up.

Thankfully, this is the one continent that doesn't get involved with voting campaigns or politics but rather the simple survival of the most dominant.

And the most dominant species on the planet, the Dragon species, has just given birth to a unique deviant and one of the most dominant beings of the Multiverse's current era.

Let us inspect said entity and her story closer...

...

"This means Nothing! You mean Nothing!"

An Ancient Dragon of Silver and Gold roared as blood dripped from its overburdened eyes.

*Cough*

The dragon coughed loud enough to make the earth shake as it threw up the blood stuck in its throat.

Glaring in front of it, the dragon of silver and gold opened its gaping maw as the mana rampaged around it and its opponent.

All the loose debris in the area and mana outside of the dragon's domain froze.

Not by a temperature scale but rather it all froze in space. Locked. A purple haze covered the surroundings.

*CRACK*

*BOOM*

It roared as it let out a breath attack using all the leftover mana in its possession. The blast of energy was strong enough for the dragon to blast even itself back from the recoil.

A beam of rampaging energy that shattered the very space it travelled through as if it were glass.

The energy blast reached its enemy, a dragon of teal and obsidian.

*BOOM!*

*Rumble...*

The attack hit the stationary fow right in its chest area, the resulting explosion kicking up a massive amount of debris and dust as the lands shook and crumbled under the pressure of the attack.

Falling to the ground, the dragon of silver and gold was blinded by its own blood, still, it could feel the mana in the air.

The mana that was previously rampaging while space was distorting and cracking was now still as water.

The dust settled as the dragon of silver and gold, stained in blood red, knew it had lost the battle.

Around the dragon coloured teal and obsidian, a ripple of water travelled through the air.

A barrier made of water and another strange element completely blocked the attack that could shatter space itself, only glowing cracks were made in the barrier that was slowly repairing itself.

The dragon of teal and obsidian opened its gaping maw and started gathering mana.

As it stood tall above the bleeding dragon of silver and gold, one could not help but compare the sizes of the two.

The dragon that was coloured teal and obsidian towered over its opponent. Twice as large at the very least, a unique birth among the dragon species.

[Ancient Titan Dragon]

Besides its size, no information has been found to explain the obvious power difference between the Titan subspecies and regular Dragon species.

A sound similar to that of a jet engine could be heard as the mana in the atmosphere was being absorbed at such an astonishing rate by the winner of the battle.

"You... can not win..... against the Old Ones.

Nor even.... The Great Ancients..."

The dying dragon muttered as its head was pointed straight at the dragon of teal and obsidian. It's voice a low grumble yet still audible enough to hear.

"You can never.... rule....."

*SWOOO*

"None.... can..."

*KA-BOOM*

And the body of the silver and gold dragon was evaporated.

*RUMBLING*

It felt as if the continent was shaking...

The dust settled, and the Titan Dragon walked to what remained of the corpse. Half the head and the long neck of the dragon remained, mostly melted.

Bending down, the Titan Dragon bit into the corpse before swallowing it whole in one gulp.

Turning its head South, the beast of a dragon let out a low roar before walking off, each step leaving a small crater in its wake as the ground trembled.

The dragon that had just died, the female dragon that seemed to have the rare Space element was protecting an egg she had laid a few days prior.

An unnatural act from a dragon. Sadly, the dragon's stupidity prevented it from moving the egg away from the centre of the continent-wide battlefield.

Yet because of the foolish decision that cost the dragon of silver and gold her life, the child in the egg could prosper as the egg was moved near a certain lake of starlight, where, even among the dragon race's chaos, no fights broke loose.

The reason why the two dragons were facing off was simple and stupid. Pride.

A challenge in the continent's centre, where everyone battled for supremacy, needed to be accepted.

On to the now orphaned child of a dragon whose mother had just been killed and eaten while its father was long dead from the constant battle.

An egg of golden blond, void black and beautiful violet with streaks of neon blue.

For a dragon's egg, Unnatural colours all, that hid an Unnatural child inside of it.

The egg sat at the edge of a lake seemingly filled with stars and galaxies aplenty.

In the surroundings, there were strange diamond and crystal structures that protruded from the slightly shaking ground.

The reason why the egg sat near the lake was because of the ambient mana that assisted in a dragon's birth and growth.

Though it is an uncommon location as newborns are often challenged to battle and squashed in an instant by the few cruel dragons that roamed the centre of the battlefield.

Now, due to the natural mana in the surroundings, the egg...

...

Where did it go?

Wait..... Sh*t... Wait...

Ah... Give me a second, change in the script.

*Flipping through notebook number 8 (real)*

Okay. It's fine. A quick change in canon.

Fixed. Where were we?

Right. Due to the battle a few tens of kilometres away that involved the unborn dragon child's mother and the titan, the rumble of the titan's final attack was so strong that the previously mentioned egg happened to slip, tumble and fall into the lake.

Said lake seemed as if someone scooped up a beautiful area in the vast cosmos, turned it into liquid and poured it into a lake. The 'water' was pitch black, emulating the void it seemed to have come from. Yet also in that void there seemed to be glowing stars, space dust, galaxies and even universes all glowing in their own distinct colour and seemingly completely merged with the void black water as if the two were one.

It is undoubtedly a holy place for all dragon kind that have seen it. An unnatural air stops all dragon kind from even dipping a claw inside, a foreboding sense of danger fills their heads and hearts, the very core of their soul shakes in fright as if they were disrespecting something beyond even the Gods. All that from simply thinking of dipping the tip of one's claw inside.

It's a seemingly engraved fear as not to disrespect... 'something'.

And now, because of a minor quake, the child in the egg fell into said holy waters.

This might turn into something... horrible...
