Crossing the Border

The carriage reached the last town that was next to the border.

Xiao Wuya and Elder Huang ate one last dinner before they had to pass the checkpoint into the beast continent. On the way to the restaurant Xiao Wuya saw a mix of beasts and humans roaming the streets, most of the beasts were in their humanoid form since even the beasts with the slightest blood from a divine beast could transform.

Elder Huang gave some information of the beast continent so Xiao Wuya could get a good idea of what to expect "When you go to the border show your fox bloodline and say I am your guardian. They will let us in since you are a beast yourself. The country is ruled by 4 dragon clans: the North Wind Dragons, the East Water Dragons, the South Earth Dragons, and the West Fire Dragons. They are not true dragons but they are descendants of the 4 Elemental Dragons who were the sons and daughters of a Divine Dragon. The Nine Dragons Sect is ruled equally by the 4 dragon clans so don't offend them unless you have no choice."

Elder Huang looked over at the beasts who were at the other table and said "I don't see why people discriminate between races, we humans are similar to them but sadly we see them as a threat. Well I hope maybe you in the future can be the bridge that connects our two continents."

Xiao Wuya sat in thought for a moment before smiling "The continents border each other so why do we need a bridge? I think all we need is a common enemy to fight so we can come together. Maybe the Demon Continent will be the catalyst; I have heard rumors that they are stirring trouble for both the Human Continent and the Beast Continent."

Elder Huang also thought of this possibility but the conditions need to be that both continents are in desperate conditions and it very unlikely that the Demon Continent would have such power.

They continued to chat peacefully until a shriek outside disturbed the entire restaurant. Many people including Xiao Wuya and Elder Huang went outside to see what was happening.

To their surprise they saw that one of the ropes on their carriage was loosened and there was a lizard in his humanoid form pulling a girl wearing black hooded clothes away from the direction of their cart.

Elder Huang walked to the carriage and tightened the ropes and the lizard man seeing the true owner of the carriage appear walked over with the girl in his grasp and said "This girl was a thief, at first I saw her attempt to open the door but it seems it has some lock on it so she tried to steal the whole carriage. I caught her in the act but since she was stealing your stuff you can tell me what to do with her."

Elder Huang looked at Xiao Wuya and said "This is your call, what do you want to do with her?"

Xiao Wuya was mad that this girl was trying to steal from them, the hood that covered her face fell and revealed a cute girl with cat ears. Xiao Wuya saw her pleading eyes but his stone cold face showed his complete disinterest without even considering anything else other than the situation that occurred he gave his verdict "Take her to the town guards and imprison her for stealing according to the laws in the town."

The girl tried to run but the lizard mans grip was too tight. He dragged her to the towns guard who cut of her hands since the rules of the town were that anyone who tries to steal something from another person and is caught would be sent to the jail for a year and their hands would be severed from the person.

Although the rule is harsh, due to the town being filled with both humans and beasts it is necessary to have strict laws to keep order.

Xiao Wuya and Elder Huang left the small town towards the border. Xiao Wuya allowed his fox features to be shown and his 9 tails flowed across his body as he got used to controlling them again.

As Xiao Wuya started controlling his tails he suddenly got an idea and attached the Immortal Sun and Moon Chain Hooks to his two outer tails allowing them to swing in small circles in the carriage. He then took out the Ancient Spacetime Spear and made a few tiny jabs while controlling the Chain Hooks. Previously he wondered how to use his weapons and defend himself at the same time but now he could use the chain hooks and the spear. With the Ancient Order Armor to protect him, the Immortal Fox Cloud Boots to increase his speed, and the various technique he has there is no way he would lose in a battle even if they are in a level above him.

The carriage finally reached the border, there were humans protecting one side of the border while there were beasts and beast men on the other side.

The carriage was stopped by some beast soldiers on the border. Elder Huang cupped his hands and when Xiao Wuya walked out revealing his Fox Ears and 9 Fox Tails he spoke to the soldiers "This is Xiao Wuya and he is as you can see a Beast. I want to bring him to the Nine Dragons Sect and I have this letter from the 4th Elder herself."

A letter was swept out of his bosom and he handed it to the solider who looked at it. The solider then looked at Xiao Wuya and asked "Hey little fox boy, who is this man to you?"

Xiao Wuya answered as Elder Huang said before "Elder Huang is my guardian who is escorting me to the 9 Dragons Sect."

The solider nodded his head and handed back the letter before moving the lion beasts that were blocking the carriage allowing them to pass into the beast continent.
