35 The Ship (pt2)

As I mulled over the events from the past week, when a knock sounded on the door

"Its open..."

The door was opened slowly and Mayrine headed in with a tray on one of her hands, its like those on the fast food restaurants

Now that I think about it, I havent eaten for a long time, since I woke up, and then I feel sorry for the food stock I had on my house that is most likely going to rot by themselves... no, I believe it is; actually

"Oh hi, Mayrine"

"Here. I thought you haven't eaten since you woke up earlier... so" she puts the tray on the table, after setting aside the tub

A good smell lingered the air...

I took a peek on it and then went close to it, Mayrine urging me to eat

It was a regular dried food, a fish to be exact, paired with a soup like food on a bowl, also theres only a spoon here on the tray

Well, its better than having none...

The dried fish was a fried one, just so that its a bit hot so I can't even touch it carelessly. Although it is salted, I can't explain which salt could have been possibly used, but well this fish is probbably the salt water ones, or the ones on sea, though one thing is that I can't seem to remember the name of this fish

The Soup is also a salted one, its filled with vegetable with few chunks of meat, though I apreciate the taste, the only good thing in it is the fact that it used salt, it lacked the other seasonings, but well since I'm fine with mostly salty food, its an acceptable taste

I took a glance at Mayrine who's watching the process of me eating, well its kinda embarrassing

"Heheh, you seem cute when your trying to observe the food. Its not poisonous or anything. This is a trader ship after all" her mood seems to be different now

"Humm" I tried to avert my eyes when I heard the word cute

"Well, sorry if it only have one taste, after all we travel for long distances so its natural that we preserve our goods by drying or salting them"

I tried to focus myself back once again, and resume eating on a normal pace, well she had a point there

Also my heart couldn't handle it if I'm verbally told 'cute' when I'm not prepared. No... actually It's not normal to be called like that, much more if its said to me with no hesitation. Its like culture shock, but its gender edition

I heard that often aswell when I'm playing RPG games so it didn't cause much damage, but its still different when its eye to eye...

"Ahaha cute, you just look cute when you are like that"

And she dealt the finishing blow, my lips suddenly twitched as I forced a smile

"Muuh, Stop it, I'm not a child anymore"

"Ahaha, fuuh~ wait... not a child?"

"Eh? I'm not a chi-ー" ah I forgot how I looked like, her face stopped laughing and pinched my cheeks, aw...

"Your not a child? fuuh no use saying that to me"

"Mueehuueegh~ nuuuuh" my cheeks were squeezed as I tried to stop her, eventually she released it

Brutality, Abuse, this is too unfair!

"By the way, do you have a plan on doing next once we reached the port?"

"Hmm? no, I dont know a thing about that place"

"Really? seriously were you some kind of 'living on a tribe' or something?"

"Eh? no, I was only alone" I said that as I caress my cheeks

"Again, you said alone. Do you not actually know a thing about your family?"

"No, I dont remember anything. I was just living on a cave... erm... a house"

"Cave? you say you're like a primitive kid? huh"

"No its different! I wasn't--"

"Righhht~~ I see I see, Fine, I won't ask anymore if you wanna hide it"

"No it was-ー"

"Its okay... no worries. By the way have you checked the tub?"

"Tub? you mean the clothes?"

"Yea, but did you forget something in there?"

"Hmm?"

"Haah~ just go check it"

I finished the food, went and pick up the tub

Its the same ruined clothes, hmm?

I tap it with my palm and felt a bulge,'Oh, suprisingly it wasnt a trap', I then dug in it and found the pouch I made on a rush, last time, just a mock-pouch cause its just wrapped around using the torn cloth from before

"Ah, this..."

I opened it and found the coins that was inside of it, alot of coins if I says so, I considered taking this all with me if I ever changed my mind and went along with Iris, But the recent renovation on the house weighted heavily when I'm deciding on what to do

I had the old hobby, where I strap the pouch or wallet on my pants, I just put it there most of the time, probbably out of habit that I still did that even now. But it really did manage to hold on huh?

"It was with you when I brought you here"

"I remember it" I replied in a nostalgic tone

"So how was it, did you lose anything?"

"No, I think nothing is lost" I said as I finished checking it. Its actually just wrapped with its corners tied, as I said... a makeshift pouch

"I see, thats good then, so whats inside?. Its yours, so I decided not to check. But the sound of it is like money"

"Hmm?" I squinted eyes, did she really not checked it? was it normal for people to know whats inside of a pouch without checking it? not even considering other stuffs?

"Eh? why are you looking at me like that?"

"No, nothing"

I took out the Fire crystal that was inside of it still bundled with coins, in the end I still considered it as a jewelry, but its useful anyways so its value to me is higher and I started to treasure it

"Hmm? whats that? I can't see" she said peeking on the inside

"Mmh? ah... its a Fire crystal" If you do that, isnt it the same as checking it?

"Fire crys-ー Waitt!?"

Mayrene's voice raised a bit higher and caused me to jolt in shock

"Ah sorry, its unusual for me to hear that, but was it really like that? you should know how rare it was... Mind if I look into it?"

"Ehh? o-okay" I handed her the crystal and she took it closer into her face, she's actually using her eyes like she's appraising it

Appraising...?

"Identify" I muttered in low voice

But nothing happen... was it just a coincidence?

"Identify"

"Identi-ー"

"Oooh I haven't seen anything like this before, though I'm not sure if it is actually a fire crystal, but its structure is completely different level!"

My eyes shifted to her when she suddenly spoke "Hmm...?"

"Its similar to a fire crystal in regards to appearance and texture, but the density of color, plus the flow inside of it is completely different"

Oh... is that so?... then I barely get it, thanks I guess?

I havent seen anything else like that so I had no idea... was it anything special at all?

Why don't you look at it in a 'jewelry' way and feel my sufferring?

"Do you had anything like this?" she said when her face is slowly creeping up closer and closer into my face...

I averted my face quickly... I fely my heart beat faster and pumps an extra stock of blood, its dangerous for the stability of the market price(ahem)

This woman is sinfully dangerous... I can feel the Ara Ara Aura creeping up on my skin...

'Why must your body's proportion has to be this good...' I cursed inwardly

I heaved a heavy sigh, she distanced herself from me looking dejected

Did she take it as a no?

"Ah sorry if I acted weird..." she said while apologizing...

I dont know exactly what wrong you did but... yeah... you deserve to feel sorry for making me feel akward...

"Then, can I ask you where you get this?"

"Heeh, I found it on my house... And its the only one"

"I see... was it a heirloom of somekind?" she muttered then handed it back into me

Taking a glance between the pouch and her face, I remembered something I need to do

"By the way, can I ask you questions?" I looked at her dejected face, its like an 'onee-san'(older sister) sulking at the corner of the bed...

Hearing me, she looked back to me

"I'd like to ask for help" I placed the remaining of the pouch which was the coins on the table, setting aside the dishes

Her eyes squinted at the sight of the coins lined up, looking back and forth between me and the table

"Did you stole this?"

"Nhn?... No"

"Then where did you get this?"

"I found this on my house"

"You found it huh?" then she looked at the pouch once again. She saw it being taken out, even so... for a second she thought that they were robbed "So what are you gonna ask?"

I mulled over it again, and finally decided to ask

"I don't know the value of this"

"HAAAH??"

And so, that was probbably the loudest sound/voice I've ever heard coming from a persons mouth, are people even capable of doing that? And she even did it alone... impressive, Im deeply moved, You literally made my eyes tear up.... by pain, and look! I was actually 'moved' because of shock, care to distance yourself before doing that!? the collateral damage... the collateral damage!!!

"Sorry sorry, I was too loud" she then patted my head feeling embarrassed, and hugged me slightly

Ring ring, Hello? somebody calling? 'Sorry'? whats that? ooooooooooh I see, I see... ITS JUST MY FUCKING EAR'S RINGTONE IS SO LOUD, I CAN'T HEAR A THING...

Though ...I thought I would never hear you again ringy thing

"molester..." I muttered in an extremely low tone

"Eh what?"

"Nothing"

Hurried footsteps resounded on the hallway, then a knock coming from the door, before it opens...

Now that I remember, did that thing even have a lock? and technically speaking... I'm stupid for saying 'its open' cause its actually always open? Wait what am I even saying?

A young youth entered the room, hes a little more higher than me, he has a short trimmed hair that has the same color as the woman who's still hugging me

A younger brother?

Ive heard Onee-sans usually gets stupid when they have a younger siblings, is this Woman one of them? wait I'm technically a girl now and I have a younger sibling aswell on my former world... Wait a sec! It backfired!?

The boy was stupefied when he entered the door and found both of us still clinging to each other

I broke the stupor and glare at the woman in front of me...

But the woman is still shocked still

Ahh... hello hello, earth to azeltine, earth to Mayrine, anyone there?

Once again... Aheee heeem It literally cracked, I think you need a doctor

"Ah!... Ahaha good morning!" she says

"Morning? its already night!... and why's the need to shout out loud?" the boy said, glaring at Mayrine

"Ahahaha.... no no, something just happen, thats all..." she hurriedly said, clearly panicked

"And you had to shout that loud?. YOU!!! and stop clinging to the girl!!" he said, visibly mad

"Oops, like I said, its nothing..." Mayrine let go of me and tried to wave her hand, seemingly trying to lessen the akward atmosphere while forcing a smile
