6 ~6~

I've thought about this moment continuously. Like a loop playing over and over in my head, I knew it'd rip me apart. How could you leave me? You said you never would. You promised forever. So why now? Why her? Is it the sweet poison that rolls off her tongue, or the sour pitch that is a symphony to your ears. Her lips are like that of a poison apple, corrupting your own. Dragging you six feet below life, drowning in the heat of her love, burning to unfamiliar sounds.

Was it the safe game I had been playing that made you walk away? The tapping of my fingers as I made it through the day? The emptiness in my eyes as I stared off into space? Or was it the way I held you, savoring the silk of your skin; warming, filling me with satisfaction. Was it the longing in my eyes when I gazed upon your own, wondering when and if you'd ever leave?

Now, watching you still as stone, I know not of any answers. Your betrayal taste so sweet upon my lips- her lips. The truth now lies with you, buried for an eternity.
