6 Chapter Six : What Are You Guys Doing Here?

"I cannot believe I got 3 points and layups then Mr. Ford still wanted me to dribble for 20 mins." Ceil sighs at her punishment.

"Because you always traveling violation," Diana chuckles.

"Oh right but still I got a point guard and sharp shooter." Ceil complimenting herself.

"Okay whatever." Diana gave up.

Ceil and Diana dropped by at the near Diner resto. They also met there Ron Nux where he had a part-time job and helping his aunt Mary. He insisted on helping her out since he had nothing to do after school's schedule, even projects and his class assignments are done at the school's library. He was still the nerd from the old days, and a bookworm.

"Isn't that Ron Nux?" Ceil asked Diana.

"Yeah, that's him," Diana answered.

"And that is his aunt Mary at the cashier counter." Diana added.

"His aunt looks so young,"Ceil mesmerised at how young she looks.

"Maybe she uses magic powder for her wrinkles or simply serum foundation." Diana studies Ron's aunt.

"May I take your orders young miss's." A waitress showed up and asked their orders.

"Oh yeah may I have a double patties cheeseburger, large fries and large soda." Diana ordered.

"Mine, a mash potato with beef steak, and a large soda too.Thank you." Ceil orders as she gives a smile.

" Would you like to add a dessert?" Waitresses suggest.

"No thanks, maybe later." Ceil responded.

" Please wait up to 25 minutes. Thank you." Waitresses collected their menus and she gave their orders to the kitchen.

As they waited for their food, Diana asked for the WiFi password and resumed her research from her list. Ceil on the other hand she was playing at her mobile games until she got bored and switched to social media.

They didn't notice that it was Ron bringing their food and as he was about to place down the plates. Diana suddenly spoke out about the romance phrase.

"I cannot offer you a life without misery and so the happiest day that my life has is right in front of me." Diana said out loud. Both Ceil and Diana didn't utter a word. They felt awkward while Ron was still there and heard it.

"Please enjoy your meal, thank you." Ron said his routine greeting and walked away.

" What was that Diana, is that how you confess you feeling? No shame." Ceil bottled Diana an awkward moment.

" I didn't mean it to, I only meant to say that just between you and me. I didn't expect it was Ron of all people." Diana reflects on her abrupt speaking before calling her best friend.

"Then what was that for? And speaking out loud your love confession to me." Ceil teased Diana about her affection towards her.

"No. It's not meant for my future lover nor so my husband to be," Diana cringed at the idea. "It was written by an unknown writer who expressed his love that it may make his life weary but never to worry about his happiness today." Diana quote.

"Is it about the research you are doing?" Ceil asked Diana while sipping at her soda.

"Apparently no, but it somehow caught my eye and I wanted to share it with you, of what do you think of it, and not because there's Ron, lucky he never minds." Diana felt relieved away from misunderstandings.

"Cannot offer life without misery and the happiest day is right in front of me. To me, it felt like repeated phrases of people they only can offer what they have today and life isn't easy for the world to understand." Ceil relates what many people came to tell themselves.

"There is no shortcut in life and love; neither the life is spiral upward nor downward." Ceil added.

Diana agrees with Ceil. "maybe there are things we still haven't learned from life itself."

Diana continued her research where then, a woman had entered the Diner resto that caught Ceil's attention, a familiar resemblance of Miss Perrin and saw talking with Ron Nux at the counter bar appears to be she brought him the lectures next week class though, Ceil saw it as suspicious. Ms. Perrin as her usual stern voice and firm command it seems an important information.

Diana looked at her best friend and beyond she saw a familiar face and asked, " Is that Miss Perrin?"

"It's her." Ceil tells her without a doubt.

"It seems like an urgent task." Diana saw Ron agitate to leave.

"I wonder what was on the paper, like a bounty mission." Ceil hissed her determination to know.

Ceil had a cheeky idea relating Diana to come along with her.

"Why don't we follow them?" Ceil announced.

"Are you gone?" Diana exclaimed.

"So you decide to be a stalker right now?" Diana hissed.

"Not like that, maybe they're up to something, who knows but us right?" Ceil perceived to take the mission by themselves.

Diana opposed Ceil's suggested mission.

"Absolutely nuts. What if we were found out and we're doomed." Diana protested what could happen.

"Fine. Since Miss Perrin walked away and left it to Ron." Ceil sighs at her disappointment.

"We will know it one day and if fate is upfront then be it." Diana tells Ceil there was a second chance.

It's already six and half an hour in the evening when they decide to leave the Diner Resto, they saw Ron on the way and out to the alley. Unknowingly they had followed him there. In this dark alley the lamp streep was the only light they can hold on to that is when they are about to see the end they saw Ron turning left. They ran as fast as they could, so they would not miss the sight of him. When they took the turn he was nowhere to be found,as if he vanished into thin air. They heard a barged sound behind them and a silhouette came after them. Ron came out running knocking out the attacker. The attacker stood and ran, Ron chased it and he had vanished again at the dark. Diana and Ceil left in the cold scene, still frozen when they heard footsteps walking towards them, they braced and struggled to get up and to run away. A tall man but it's not human with a goblin face and fiercely red eyes stood there, then he swiftly swung his long arms as it slicked of it's slender sharp fingetips and pierced their hearts mercilessly.

" Ceil—!" Diana whimpering. Ceil grabs a metal tube that she found the near garbage bin.

"AAAAAAhhhhh—!" Ron Nux's raging call where he appears, took a flight in the mid-air.

Ron appeared like had fallen from a two storey building and slashed out the goblin's arm before it got them. The humanoid goblin screamed in agony that had weakens and bound it's knees on the ground. Ron then opens a grid that he had drawn on the ground and recites seance, captures and sends it back to the goblin realm.

" Are you guys alright?" Ron asked them without looking.

Diana is still crying and out of track from what is that creature she saw for the first time in her life.

"We are alright at least," Ceil shaking voice. "Thank you for saving us."

"You two is a bit of a stalker. Why did you guys follow me?" Ron snickers.

" If I wasn't here, it might be too late." Ron added.

" We were really startled and we don't know what that thing is." Ceil protests.

"No matter what you do, you guys shouldn't be here the least and it's none of your business to know such dangerous business down the dark alley, I say it's brave thing to continue to interfere." Ron scolds both of them.

"Since we're here, What are you guys doing out here?" Ron hissed.
