1 Am I Dreaming?

Opening his eyes, Flynn squinted up at a ceiling that he did not recognize.

Who's ceiling is that. Looking around the room, Flynn couldn't recognise any of it.

A fireplace? A chandelier? Bookshelves?

I hate reading books… Trying to move, Flynn found himself unable to move.

Trying his best to look at what he was lying on, Flynn squinted harder.

Is this a crib? Wait, am I dreaming?

As Flynn tried to gather his thoughts, a lady's voice broke the moderate silence of the crackling fireplace.

"Look I know we need to be careful with our next steps, but still… I feel this is still a bit excessive. What if it has any lasting effects, what if it affects the..." The woman would trail off.

Looking around, Flynn spotted the lady talking. Her face was buried in her hands. Her fair hair draped down the table next to her.

Opposite her, a man with raven black hair was reading a book.

"Where have I seen these two before?" Flynn thought.

Hearing the woman's words. The man rubbed his brow for a moment before closing the book. Flynn's attention was drawn to the book's cover. Its design was incredibly ornate bearing a single unblinking eye surrounded by a jagged circle. Bound in what looked like gold, Flynn was beginning to think that it ought to belong in a museum.

Pushing the book aside, the man reached across the table taking the lady's hands in his.

"Samy please." The tone of his voice was gruff, but the lady seemed to find it soothing as the worry on her face lessened as he spoke. "We've come up with a hundred different plans for how we can protect him. We can't go and double guess ourselves now. Can we?"

Samy looked towards the fire and then back to the crib Flynn was lying in.

"Oh Cade, he's awake."

Hearing this, the man got up. As he stood up, Flynn saw something jangle on his neck.

Is that a necklace? It looks familiar.

Moving over to the crib, he smiled seeing what lay within.

Reaching into the crib, he rubbed Flynn's head.

Joining him at the side of the crib, Samy smiled seeing Flynn.

Who are these people? Flynn thought.

Samy's smile slipped away as the couple heard knocking from outside.

Looking to Cade, the man sighed. "I guess We're out of time." Taking his necklace off.

The necklace was of two dragons tightly embracing each other. In one dragon's mouth, it held a small orange gem and in the other, it held a small grey gem.

I know I've seen this necklace before.

Cade would give it to the baby as he lay in the crib. "Here Tasriel, this necklace has protected me on many occasions. If you keep it close to your chest, I have no doubt it will protect you when the time comes and if you're lucky, it might even unlock some doors."

Who is Tasriel?

Samy's smile returned as Cade bestowed the baby in the crib his necklace.

Taking a moment to take the scene in, Cade placed his hand on the boy's chest. Looking to Samy, with a smile, he motioned for her to join him.

Taking a step forward, Samy placed her slender hand onto his chest.

A cyan coloured glow began to emanate from beneath their hands, a strange feeling began to grow within Flynn's own chest.

Samy would smile. "Remember Tasriel."

*beep* The glow began to grow brighter.

"We."

*beep* The feeling within Flynn's chest began to sting.

"Love you."

*beep* Flynn's vision began to go blurry as the cyan light enveloped his vision, as the pain in his chest dimmed.

Closing his eyes, Flynn's vision went dark.
