71 The Longest Line

All of them already went to the lobby after they have rested for a while from their feast. They were all feeling excited as they were waiting for the game to start.

They never had a party or had not much fun since they arrived in the human world... so something like this wasn't bad for a change.

Somehow, it made the immortals not regret following their master after his banishment from their realm.

Ivar went up the stairs, then stopped midway.

"Alright! Can everyone hear me from up here," he asked and everyone nodded as their answer. "Good! Now let's get ready for the first game," he said as he clasped both of his hands together, feeling enthusiastic.

"Oh, this is going to be so exciting," Frey exclaimed as she clung on to Angeal who was now smiling, seeming to forget what had happened to her a while ago.

"Now, for our first game, we are going to have it in groups. Since there are nine members participating, who wants out?"

When Ivar said this, Devin walked up beside him, opting to go out, making Ivar scoff.

"Now that's boring! Why aren't you joining," he complained, making Devin shrug his shoulders at him.

"Whatever. I don't play games," the Soul Eater answered and Ivar rolled his eyes at him then continued speaking.

"Anyway, since now we have eight members, for the game, there should be four members per group. Since we are in a spacious location, what we are going to do is play 'The Longest Line'!"

When the participants heard this, Martha, Gwen, Edwin and Gladios grouped together while Arvid, Angeal, Frey, and Ava grouped together. They already separated themselves as a group as they waited for the next instruction.

Seeing how the groups were formed, Ivar grinned and teased them through a comment.

"So is this oldies versus the kiddos?"

"Hey," Gwen exclaimed as she pointed at Ava. "How can you assume that she is young when she is an immortal herself," she added in protest, making Ava smile at her.

"She should be here... based on her reaction," Ava attempted to tease, making everyone who heard it laugh at her remark.

Seeing how Ava can now speak up to them, Gwen gave her a small smile, now trying to accept her as one of them.

But... it is still too early to accept it.

"Okay, okay... settle down," Ivar said, making everyone quiet down. "So the goal of this game is to make the longest line possible by using what you have. You are not allowed to use the furniture of the house," he added, making Arvid ask a question.

"So it means... we have to use our clothes, our accessories... whatever we have in our pockets?"

Ivar nodded as he fished his phone from his pocket.

"Yup! I am giving you three minutes to form your line. Starting point would be from this couch and how you end it, it depends on you."

"Wait," Edwin said, getting their reactions then he spoke again. "Will there be a prize for the winning team," he asked, making everyone look at Ivar with expectant eyes.

"Oh, oh! I almost forgot about that," he recalled as he put his arm on Devin's shoulder. "Of course, there is! There will be a cash prize sponsored by our rich master right here!"

Hearing this, Devin furrowed his brows as he gave his servant a stare of death.

"Why do you keep using my—"

"Okay," Ivar interrupted as he raised his phone. "The game starts now!"

As soon as they heard Ivar's signal, the two groups rushed to the couch to start their lines. Everyone started to remove their shoes, their shoelaces, their accessories... as they put each item on the floor to connect the line and make it longer.

"Magic is prohibited! Any use of magic, even in the next upcoming games, automatically you're out of the game," Ivar reminded as everyone was busy making their lines longer.

"Ah," Frey exclaimed as she pointed at old man Gladios. "The chain of his pocket watch... he removed it to make their line longer!"

Feeling competitive, Arvid got his earphones from his pocket then put it on the floor to make their line longer.

"Come on! Where are your earphones? I know you have it there," the young immortal said as Frey and Angeal quickly got their earphones from their pockets then put it on the floor to make it longer.

As for Ava, what she did surprised everyone.

"Everyone's an adult here, so I can see why not!"

She removed her bra in a blink of an eye then removed each strap from both sides then put it on the floor to make their line longer.

"What the," Gwen exclaimed as she started unhooking her bra as well. "Two can play that game!"

Ivar started coughing from afar, seeing that his girlfriend got so competitive in the first game of Game Night. He shook his head, shaking himself away from his thoughts as he focused assessing the game to see who would win.

'Focus, Ivar... you'll have Gwen to yourself later...'

The two groups continued making their lines longer as each second ticked by. The moment they heard Ivar's phone ring indicating that time's up, everyone stopped in their tracks to make the game fair and square.

"Okay! Time's up! No more adding on to the line, Devin and I will assess."

The two immortals walked their way to each group and started looking at the line. Devin looked at Arvid's group then Ivar assessed the other.

They saw it as a close fight but seeing that the line of Arvid's group was longer than the other group's line for a centimeter, Devin gave a small smile then looked at Ivar to announce the winner.

"Arvid's group won."

"Yes!"

Everyone rejoiced as the other group clapped their hands to congratulate them.

"Oh, this is just the beginning! There are more games later," Martha said as Gladios chuckled.

"It is nice to have this fun once in a while," the old man said, making the others nod in agreement.

"Yo, where is our prize," Arvid exclaimed making Ivar grin.

"Congratulations! You have won $20,000. Share $5,000 each to make it fair," the Dominion said as he gave the envelope of cash to Angeal, making her eyes widen in surprise.

'$5,000 each!'

When Devin heard this, his eyes opened wide, too! In just three wide strides, he had already approached Ivar, then complained to him about the prize money.

"You already bought an expensive car without my permission... and now you are using my money as game prize!?"

Hearing this, the others stifled their laugh as Ivar squinted his eyes at him then spoke.

"You asked for a favor, Devin. You have to accept my ways," he whispered to him making their master scoff.

"Not in this manner! I—"

"If you want your money back, then join in the next games! I couldn't see why this is a big deal! You are filthy rich for the past hundreds of years!"

"You—"

Not waiting for their master's reply, Ivar walked away and started walking up the stairs, announcing the next game that is to happen for game night.

Devin internally rolled his eyes at him as he felt annoyance towards the playfulness of his stupid personal servant.

'Oh... I will join the next game alright!'
