47 Pretend We are Dating

Angeal and Arvid walked down the hill. Looking at his watch, the young immortal realized that it was already 7:20 in the morning. As they walked, he looked at the human girl then spoke.

"Are we going to meet up with Frey," he asked and Angeal nodded. She got her phone from her pocket then typed.

"She's waiting for us at the bus stop already," she added and Arvid grinned, excited to see Frey.

The thought of them having classes together in the morning really made Arvid enthusiastic.

The moment they reached the bottom of the hill, they already saw Frey from afar, standing near the bus stop. From where Frey is, she waved her hand, making the two wave back at her.

For Frey, she was wearing a plain white top, a navy blue shorts, paired with black leggings. She wore white wedges, too, which made her look taller for 2 inches.

The two walked briskly to Frey and when they reached her, Angeal gave her best friend a tight embrace.

"Well, aren't you clingy so early in the morning," Frey commented as she giggled and Angeal beamed brightly at her. Frey's eyes scanned Arvid quickly then she grinned at him. "I bet you're going to be popular in school, Arv," she commented and Angeal nodded in agreement.

Arvid scratched the back of his head feeling slightly embarrassed by the girls' comments about his looks.

"Erm... none of that matters, though," he replied as he looked at Angeal who was busy typing in her app.

'I want Angeal's attention...'

After the girl finished typing, she clicked read making the two of them look at her.

"Our first class is World Literature! I hope you guys won't sleep! I don't want to take down notes for you two," she teased them and Frey and Angeal gave her a cheeky grin.

"You know I don't read. I'll ask you what the story's about," Arvid said teasingly and Frey chimed in as she put her arm around Angeal's shoulders.

"He's right! You even take notes for us, yeah?"

When she heard them say these things, Angeal pouted as she was being teased at so early in the morning. The two laughed as they saw her reaction, making Angeal grin at them even though she knew they were teasing her purposely.

"Hey, why is she using her phone to speak?"

"Is she deaf and mute? She seems to hear, though..."

"Huh... how can a girl not speak, but can hear?"

Angeal's smile disappeared on her face when they heard the people nearby gossiping about her. She dealt with this since she was young, but even though she experienced this as she grew up, she can still get affected by it.

Hearing this, Frey looked over her shoulder, giving the girls a cold stare.

"What? Haven't seen a person who uses her phone to communicate," she asked nonchalantly and the girls avoided her gaze.

Arvid then stepped forward and looked at them, making the three girls stare at him in awe.

'Wow, he's handsome!'

The young immortal didn't say anything, but his stare was enough warning for them to mind their own business. Arvid looked at the girl beside him then spoke, comforting her.

"Don't mind them, Angeal. You focus on yourself," he said and Angeal smiled at the two then nodded.

The moment the bus came, the three went inside, then sat at the far back for them to sit together.

As Frey and Arvid were conversing, Angeal stared outside the window as the bus drove.

She saw a lot of people doing all kinds of activities. From exercises, from eating, to chatting... the city was bustling and alive during the day.

Honestly, the girl didn't want attention every time she went outside. She felt uncomfortable with the stares that she gets whenever she was out. She didn't want to talk when she was being talked to because when she tried to communicate with her phone, most of them would give up communicating with her.

Expressive as she may be, she still found it depressing when people don't listen to her when she tries.

She knew it was impossible but every night, even back when she was young, she wished to have a voice... for her to feel accepted and for her to be talked to normally.

She also wondered that as she grew, how could she hear... but not speak?

Gladios didn't know the answer to it, either. The old man even asked the immortals present but they answered that they didn't know how a miracle could possibly happen to Angeal.

They also told them that only angels with high rank can give miracles... but the only high ranking angel in their house capable for that would be Devin.

During that time though, he wasn't in the mansion. This in turn, made them wonder... who entered their mansion in the middle of the night to bless Angeal?

Whoever that angel is, why couldn't he or she make Angeal speak, if that angel planned to bless her?

Angeal was shaken from her thoughts when Frey shook her, telling her that they already arrived in Green University.

"Angeal, is something the matter," Frey asked, wondering why her best friend was spacing out. The human girl shook her head, then smiled.

"Well then, let's go," Arvid told her then she stood up then the three of them went out of the bus.

When they were walking inside the campus, the three already felt gazes on their back, sides, and even in their front.

As Frey observed, she noticed that most of the girls were looking at Arvid. She squinted her eyes at them, smirked, then whispered to the young immortal.

"How are you feeling," she asked and Angeal poked Arvid's side to tease him along with Frey. Arvid rolled his eyes at them then spoke.

"I do not like these eyes looking at me," he answered and Frey giggled.

"Wanna pretend we are dating," she asked jokingly but what Arvid said made Frey's eyes open wide, not expecting his answer.

"Oh, please... so they could stop!"

'What?'

Angeal blinked her eyes a few times when she saw Arvid put his arm around Frey's shoulders, pulling her close to him.

"Where should the three of us eat later, babe," he said aloud, making the girls who were looking at him look away.

'Oh... he's taken...'

Frey's face started to redden, her ears especially, when she heard Arvid call her differently.

'Babe!'

She didn't expect Arvid to agree so quickly, knowing that he likes Angeal since they were young!

Frey also saw him as a friend but him acting this way and him addressing to her differently even though it was just a play pretend, made her heart skip a beat!

"Babe?" When Arvid called her by a fake endearment again, Frey looked at him then their eyes met. "You okay?"

"Err..."

Frey avoided his gaze then nodded, not understanding how she's feeling.

'Calm down, Frey... this is just pretend...'

After a few seconds of being silent, Frey smiled teasingly then she intertwined her fingers with Arvid's, surprising the immortal.

"Oh, I'm fine, baby~! Let's go," she said as she winked, making Arvid raise an eyebrow at her, finding her unexpectedly cute.

'Was she always like this?'

When the three of them started walking, Angeal squealed internally, her eyes enjoying what she sees.

If only she had a voice, she would've shouted in approval a long time ago!
