31 Just Gone Berserk

Edwin's eyes were fixed on their master in front of them.

To be honest, he had been confused of whether to battle with Devin head on. But then again before they came to the human world, Devin had personally asked him to come with them to the human world to work for him.

He specifically asked for Edwin to subdue him if ever there will come a time that he would go berserk because of his curse. The Soul Eater made him promise that no matter what, with Edwin's power and with his title as The Unmovable God, he would have to stop him under any circumstances.

For more than a hundred of years that situation rarely came. He would lose control, but none of those situations were as worse as this. But now, Edwin didn't expect that the day would really come—that he would now have to face him one on one, head on.

Their master is starting to regain his true strength.

As Devin slowly stood up, his eyes left Angeal for a moment then his eyes locked with Edwin's. Somehow in his eyes, there was annoyance and intent to kill etched in it. This made The Unmovable God gulp, waiting for his next move.

'Shit... I didn't expect this at all!'

Angeal looked at Arvid in front of him then back at the scene in front of them. The young immortal watched his father as the yellow light surrounded his body.

The young immortal was still in awe to see his father show this kind of strength! Well, he hadn't shown anything yet... but the light itself was enough for him to know that his father was indeed powerful and maybe invincible!

Knowing that they were instructed to escape, Angeal tugged on the hem of Arvid's shirt, getting his attention. Arvid looked at her, realizing that they indeed have to go.

"Let's go," Angeal mouthed, knowing that using her phone to speak would waste time. Arvid hesitantly nodded, gave his father one last look, then took her hand then they started running away.

Devin's eyes left Edwin the moment he saw Arvid and Angeal escaping. In just a second, he disappeared within Edwin's sight, making his eyes widen in surprise.

'Where did he go!?'

With their master's sudden disappearance, this made panic run in Ivar's veins. The Soul Eater's personal servant stood up, sensing what his master might've thought.

"Arvid, Angeal, look out!"

The moment Ivar shouted his warning, Devin appeared in front of the main door, blocking Arvid and Angeal's escape. Instinctively, Arvid went in front of Angeal to protect her.

But alas... it was in vain.

His body started shaking uncontrollably as his eyes met their master's nonchalant eyes. It was as if their master was looking down on him! His gaze was so heavy... making it difficult for Arvid to breathe. It felt like with each second, the young immortal was given heavy blocks on his chest—like he was forced to carry it!

He realized that even with just one look from their master, the atmosphere around him became overbearing.

Arvid suddenly fell on his knees, making Angeal worry. Arvid was holding his neck and his chest with his hands, as if desperate to breathe. The human girl beside him started to panic as she bent down to help Arvid up. Tears were starting to form in her eyes as well!

Quickly assessing the situation that was foreign to them since they handled their master, Edwin realized that Devin was charging up a blow as his fist turned purple. He lifted up his fist, as he looked at Edwin's son as if he were a pest.

'Shit!'

In a blink of an eye, Edwin appeared in front of his son and the human girl, blocking the deadly blow of their master to protect the two.

'!!!'

Angeal heard Edwin's bones crack, making her shake in fear. He used both of his arms to protect them from a punch but what Edwin didn't expect was that their master was this strong.

'Damn! He is a formidable fighter indeed,' The Unvomable God thought as he clenched his teeth, trying his best to protect the two. Not minding his cracking bones, he completely shifted his focus towards Arvid and Angeal's utmost protection.

Seeing this, Ivar started running towards Angeal and Arvid and pulled them away quickly from Edwin and Devin. He then chanted a spell, making a white force shield surround and protect the three of them.

'I'm too weak to transfer two people at the same time!'

Ivar looked at Arvid as he put his hand on the young boy's back. "Can you breathe now," he asked worriedly and Arvid nodded, making Ivar sigh with relief.

"What happened? Why can't I bring Angeal out," the young immortal asked as Ivar looked at Edwin and Devin exchanging blows. He still found it amazing how Edwin can hold off against their master.

Ivar shook his head then returned his gaze to Arvid. "Focus, Arvid. I will distract Devin with Edwin. Once the shield disappears, I want you not to look back and take Angeal away. Do you understand?"

Arvid was given no chance to answer. The moment Ivar said this, he left the two of them inside, then ran to help Edwin.

In just a second, Ivar appeared behind Devin then gave him a kick, which was successfully blocked by Devin's left arm. Making this moment count, Edwin swiftly threw a punch aiming at their master's face, but it was also blocked successfully by Devin's right hand.

'Who is this person,' Arvid thought to himself as Angeal hid her face on his shoulder, feeling scared. This made the young immortal touch her hand comforting her.

"Don't worry," he whispered against her ear. "I'll protect you," he added, trying to comfort the girl.

The moment the shield disappeared, Arvid turned serious. He quickly carried Angeal in his arms, then started running up the stairs to hide her from them.

But Devin's eyes were quicker.

He threw both Edwin and Ivar at the side harshly, making both of them hit the walls on both ends.

"Arvid!"

Arvid didn't dare look back the moment he heard his father's warning. He focused solely on escaping from Devin.

He wanted to protect Angeal the best way he can. He wanted to protect the girl he loves the best way he can!

In just a second, Arvid was taken aback when their master appeared in front of him, then gave him a strong shove, making him and Angeal fall from the railings.

'!!!'

"Angeal!"

The moment Arvid shouted, a gust of wind came in the mansion sending the young immortal flying but thankfully his father caught him, breaking off the fall. In just a blink of an eye, however, Angeal was suddenly caught in the arms of the soul eater.

The three men froze the moment they realized that they failed to protect Angeal from their master who had just gone berserk.
