51 Go Ahead

Time flew by so fast. The moment they went out of the classroom, they realized that they have already finished three classes in a blink of an eye.

Arlo was the first one to arrive at the gate. He was being talked to by a few girls and guys and he conversed with them normally.

From afar, Angeal noticed that he was already at the university gate. She looked around the campus from the third floor and noticed that Frey and Arvid weren't around yet, making the girl feel a little nervous.

'Oh... where are they...'

She was hoping for one of them to arrive at the gate so it wouldn't be awkward for her to be around Arlo.

Seeing him alone there the moment the crowd dispersed, her heart was doubling its pace, making her panic and nervous at the same time.

'Ah, should I accompany him? Has he been waiting for too long?'

Knowing Angeal's kind nature, she didn't want the people whom she promised to meet, wait for such a long time. She would rather choose to wait for the person, rather than make them wait.

But knowing that it is Arlo who came earlier, how could she come there normally?

Angeal knew that she liked him... and they rarely talk. They only started talking now, so how could she possibly talk to him comfortably?

'Oh... what should I do?'

Arlo leaned his back on the gate's pillar then looked around. When his eyes were scanning the campus, from afar, he saw Angeal and gave her a wave as he smiled. When Angeal's eyes met his, her hands turned into fists as she bit her lip feeling nervous.

'Damn! He saw me!'

With her crazy beating heart, she shakily raised her hand then waved back at Arlo. She smiled weakly, making Arvid cock his head at the side. Then what he did next made everyone look at both him and her.

"Angeal, hey!"

When everyone heard him shout at her, they all looked at Angeal at the third floor. The moment all eyes were on her, she turned her back then hid her face behind her hands and her hoodie's sleeves.

'Ah! Why did he have to shout?!'

Angeal didn't like the attention she was getting so she quickly walked down the steps to leave the building.

The moment her foot stepped on the main campus floor, she sighed to calm herself down, then sauntered to where Arlo is to mask her nervousness.

'You can do this, Angeal,' she internally motivated herself then she smiled at Arlo.

When the two of them met face to face, Arlo scratched the back of his head and gave her an apologetic smile.

"I'm sorry for shouting all of a sudden," he said and Angeal's smile widened. The girl put her index finger in front of her mouth, as if telling Arlo to keep it down.

"You are loud," she mouthed carefully and when Arlo read her lips, he chuckled then he nodded.

"Alright. Sorry, Angeal."

The girl looked like she was giggling as she put her fingers in front of her mouth, looking happy.

As the boy looked at her, he didn't realize that Angeal could be this attractive. She wore simply... yet something about her attracted him to appreciate her.

They have been classmates since they were young, but they never talked much. Arlo didn't know her much, but he always told himself to be nice to people.

He knew Angeal was being bullied and only Frey talked to her... but he was different.

From time to time, he talked to her, but he found the difficulty to do so frequently because when they were younger, Angeal was quieter.

Now that they met again in college and Angeal was slightly getting out from her shell, he found himself wanting to get to know her.

Arlo was almost in a daze when he saw her smile at him. Her blue eyes reflected happiness as she looked at him.

Arlo noticed her teeth were perfectly aligned—her smile giving a warm glow... he realized that her joy was contagious—almost pulling him along with it.

Angeal's smile was a ray of sunshine, and Arlo was the sunburn.

After a few seconds, she put her hand up, indicating for Arlo to wait. She got her phone from her pocket then started checking her phone.

He was distracted from his thoughts for a second there. When he realized that he was staring at Angeal, he felt his heart jump out for a second. He smiled at himself, sighed, then looked at the girl in front of him.

'What's with you, Arlo?'

The girl's eyebrows furrowed as she read a text on in her inbox. Afterwards, her eyes widened, making the boy beside him curious.

"What's wrong," he asked then he went beside Angeal to read the text message. He saw that it was from Frey.

"I'm sorry, Angeal... Arvid and I finished our class earlier. By coincidence, we saw each other and decided to shop for the groceries. Do go ahead with Arlo and we'll catch up. Love ya~!"

When Angeal read this, she felt her face heat up. She puffed her cheeks, feeling slightly annoyed by Frey's message.

'She did this on purpose! I just know it!'

"Well..."

When Arlo suddenly spoke, Angeal suddenly realized that the guy was actually beside her and that the two of them were alone. She nervously looked at him, her heartbeat beating unevenly.

'Does that mean that I am going to be alone with him?'

Feeling slightly awkward and shy as well for being left with a person he's not really close with yet, Arlo scratched the back of his head then spoke.

"Seems we have no other choice. We might as well go to the cafe and start with the homework while we wait for them," he suggested and this made Angeal bite her lip.

The thought of being alone with Arlo scared her... but if she left suddenly knowing that he is her partner for the homework, their homework might not be finished.

Well, Angeal knew well that she could finish this on her own... but working with an unfamiliar work would be better to do with others.

And it might be a good chance for the two of them to get to know each other...

The girl internally sighed then looked at Arlo shyly. The moment their eyes met, Arlo became serious as he found himself feel nervous with the thought of being alone with a girl.

He has been hanging out with girls, too... and a lot were approaching him even though he didn't know them but with Angeal...

Being with her feels completely different.

Arlo shook his head, making Angeal cock her head at the side, curious.

"Let's go," he said as he smiled and Angeal nodded as the two walked their way to the cafe.

'What are you thinking, Arlo... this is just the beginning.'
