23 Bright Side

Angeal narrated in detail what had happened between her and their master. Gwen and Arvid's face kept changing their expressions as they listened to Angeal's app speak for her. When it was done, Gwen was the first one to react.

"You SLAPPED our MASTER!?"

That was the first reaction Gwen said. It seemed that she, too, had been itching to slap their master. She put her hand up, and twitched her fingers, making it seem like she really wanted to slap their master for a long time, too.

Arvid looked at her as he squinted his eyes. "She was alarmed. It was done by instinct."

Angeal nodded, agreeing with the boy who stood in front of them. Gwen still looked at Angeal, amazed that she had done the impossible to their master.

"How did it feel slapping him? Was it satisfying?"

Arvid and Angeal gave Gwen a look of disapproval. How could this girl sound like a girl from the realm above? She sounded like a demon!

Gwen scoffed as she shrugged her shoulders, not understanding why she got those disappointing stares for.

"What? Ivar wanted to slap him for being too moody at times. Sometimes, we also feel that way!"

Arvid cocked his head to the left, ignoring what she said. Something bothered him for a while so he dared ask, wanting to tease Gwen at the same time.

"Speaking of which... is there something going on between you and Ivar?"

When Arvid asked this, Gwen suddenly stayed still, like she transformed into a block of Ice. Angeal looked at Arvid, curiosity evident in her eyes. She never saw Gwen act this way!

"There's something going on between them," she quickly typed in her app to ask then clicked read and Arvid shrugged.

"I dunno... but I saw Ivar come from Gwen's room one night..."

He looked at the immortal girl teasingly, knowing that what he saw may be a secret between them.

'Finally! I can tease the witch!'

Gwen's face suddenly turned red after Arvid spoke. He then looked at the young immortal in front of them with anxiety.

She didn't want this secret to be known! They've been hiding it for a hundred of years already! Why would the cat be out of the bag now?

'If my mother knew this, I would be dead! So dead!'

Gwen put her hands together, looking like she was pleading to God for mercy.

"Please, please... tell me you didn't ask your dad about us... especially my mother..."

Arvid rose an eyebrow at her then smirked, teasing Gwen.

'I knew it! I knew it something was up!'

Arvid crossed his arms in front of his chest, feeling proud.

"Sure! You have to tell us what's the deal between you two," he said, teasing Gwen, and Angeal nodded, wanting to know about it as well.

How could their master's personal servant be visiting a housekeeper, late at night?

"Okay, okay..." Gwen took a deep breath. "Yes, Ivar and I are dating... please don't tell anyone else especially my mother," she begged, almost mumbling, but the two still heard her.

"Why," Angeal asked, letting the app of her phone speak for her.

"I am engaged to someone in our realm. It was arranged by both my mother and the guy's family. It's complicated," she answered, not wanting to explain more.

As she said this, Gwen was reminded of their ranks again. In order to maintain the hierarchy of their world, they have to be married to another being of the same rank. They knew this well but still... Ivar and Gwen fell for each other, their relationship still strong even after a hundred years of secretly dating.

Gwen looked at the two, her eyes looking like she was about to cry.

"Please... promise me not to say anything to them about this," she requested and Angeal nodded, understanding her whilst Arvid smirked.

"As long as you don't bully me again, why not," he agreed teasingly and Gwen rolled her eyes at him.

"Whatever," she reacted then she looked at Angeal, remembering the main reason why she came in her room the first place. "Going back, what do you think of what happened? How do you feel?"

The human girl blinked her eyes a few times then she typed in her app then clicked read to answer with just one word.

"Awkward!"

Gwen giggled a bit, finding her reaction cute. "Still... it was your first kiss, right? Look on the bright side... at least our master is handsome!"

Angeal avoided her gaze feeling embarrassed and this time, Arvid scoffed, feeling jealous.

"So what? It was an accident. It's not something serious. Why would she consider that as her first kiss," he commented and Gwen gave him a teasing smile.

"It was still Angeal's first kiss!"

The human girl's face turned red once more as Gwen emphasized that it was her first kiss. She then hid her face with a pillow, wanting to scream out loud but alas, she had no voice.

'My first kiss should be very special!'

"By the way," Gwen spoke again and Angeal put down the pillow to look at her, her face still red. "Frey asked if it was okay for her to drop by. She wants to discuss to you about the upcoming semester but you weren't replying."

When the girl heard her best friend's name, Angeal looked at her phone then saw an unopened message from Frey indeed! She opened it, read it, then sent her a message saying that she can come over. Afterwards, the human girl typed on her app then clicked read.

"I was in the library at this time. I didn't notice it," the app said then Angeal rolled her eyes.

Knowing that her only best friend, Frey, would come to visit her, she felt excited as she realized that she hadn't seen her in weeks!

Arvid then sat down beside the two and spoke, sounding excited as well. "So Frey's gonna visit tomorrow? Awesome! She wasn't able to visit us during old man Gladios' birthday!"

Gwen smiled, then chimed in. "Yeah. But it was for the best that she wasn't here or else... she might've witnessed something surprising than what she already knew," she remarked and the two nodded in agreement.

Gwen was right. If Frey were here during that time, she would've been scared to death to have witnessed something she should never see. She might not come to visit Angeal ever again!

Shaking this thought, Angeal felt excited to know that her childhood friend, Frey, would be coming to visit tomorrow!

Frey had been her friend since kindergarten up to the present. She was the one who always protected her when Angeal was being bullied for not being able to speak.

Frey started to know about the immortals at the house by the time they were in elementary. Since then, she swore never to say anything about it to anyone and continued being her friend.

"Cool! So I'm also going to Green University with you guys now, right? I bet she is going to be psyched the moment she hears about this tomorrow," Arvid said excitedly and Angeal also nodded, imagining how Frey would react.

Seeing them excited about school, Gwen shuddered.

"How are you guys so enthusiastic about studying," she commented and Arvid stuck a tongue out at her.

"You wouldn't know. You're a simp," he answered back and Angeal grinned, enjoying how they are teasing each other.

"Say that again... and I'll punch your face," Gwen threatened as she clenched her fist in front of Arvid. The boy scoffed, and pointed at the wall on the left.

"I think I have something to tell Martha."

The moment he said this, Gwen aggressively stole the pillow Angeal was hugging, stood up, then hit him hard on the face with the pillow.

"You dare—"

Gwen hit Arvid on the face again, slightly annoying him. Arvid got the spare pillow from Angeal's single couch then started hitting Gwen, both of them engaging in a pillow fight.

Angeal smiled as she took a video of the two and sent it to Frey.

'There is never a dull moment with these two,' Angeal thought to herself as she watched them laughing and hitting each other.
