8 Bright and Warm

Angeal and Gwen proceeded with their chores for the day such as putting on new cleaned sheets for the beds and putting up new curtains on each room.

Gwen volunteered to hang the curtains and as for Angeal, she handled with changing the sheets of the bed.

As the two were doing their business, a topless Arvid appeared, making Gwen roll her eyes at him.

"Do you have to show off your body? I get it... you're buffing up and you have abs," she commented as Arvid walked in the room, wiping off his sweat with a face towel.

The young immortal's brown hair was obviously drenched in sweat, and his torso even had beads of sweat on it, making him look insatiable if he were to show himself in front of mortals.

"It's too hot to put my shirt on. Besides, I'm not practically naked," he said then he sat on the chair at the side of the door.

Gwen chuckled teasingly. "But I did see you naked," she remarked and it made Arvid squint his eyes at her.

"Oh, come on! I was a baby that time. That doesn't count!"

Gwen laughed out loud then Angeal got her phone the moment she placed the last sheet on the last king sized bed.

"Aren't you going to tell us about master," Angeal asked and Gwen looked at her as she slowly went down the cabinet after successfully hanging the curtains.

Arvid stood up then wore his shirt that hung on his left shoulder.

"Yeah, I'm curious about him, too. Dad wouldn't say much about him when I asked him because he said I might tell Angeal things."

Angeal looked at Arvid then she cocked her head to the right, curious.

"Really? Is it because we're close," the app on her phone said and Arvid nodded.

"Anyway, tell us something about him, Gwen. I promise we won't tell what you told us," the boy said and Angeal nodded enthusiastically.

Gwen sighed. "Well, okay," she agreed, then the three of them sat on the king sized bed to start their conversation.

"As we all know, our master's out for 18 years. So the both of you don't even know how he looks like. He doesn't even have a picture here," Gwen started off then Arvid spoke.

"Yeah. I asked dad what he looked like and dad told me that he had a different kind of handsome look."

Angeal furrowed her brows then typed in her app.

"You mean to say, there's a different kind of handsome in your world?"

Gwen laughed. "Uncle Edwin didn't mean it like that, I mean... it's hard to explain," she said as she cupped her chin with her left hand. "Angeal, describe the aura that we immortals have. How do we look, but generally, what do you feel?"

Angeal thought for a while as she looked at both Gwen and Arvid. Gwen smiled and winked at Angeal then Arvid showed a shy smile as he scratched the back of his head, feeling conscious of Angeal's travelling eyes. The girl then typed on her app for a minute then the robotic voice said:

"You both look extraordinarily handsome and beautiful like how immortals are described in books. Despite living for more than a hundred of years, you all still look young. But what I feel about you guys is that you have a bright, warm aura."

Gwen nodded. "Exactly! The last thing that you said is the common quality that we immortals from the realm above have! Bright and warm."

Angeal bit her lip, feeling slightly confused.

"But don't I feel that way because you're practically like family to me," she asked and Arvid nodded in agreement.

"Right! For an immortal, I feel like a human because I never got the chance to visit our realm. I don't even know what distinguishes us from the others."

Gwen smiled then spoke again.

"In general, when people would see us, they would feel different because we give off this 'godly' aura and appearance! That's why when it comes to handling with human affairs such as bills, groceries, and the like... it was always gramps and Angeal who would handle it."

Arvid crossed his arms in front of his chest.

"So you mean to say, if we appear in public too much, we get too much attention because of our appearance and aura?"

"Exactly," Gwen answered as she pounded her fist on her other hand. "Before gramps and Angeal came, my mom would always handle the things for the mansion. We ended up getting stalkers who fell for her looks, and we would always have thieves who would try to enter the vicinity. Edwin enjoyed those times of beating them up, though. It was the only time he would get into fights!"

Arvid rolled his eyes. "Typical of dad. He's like a lunkhead!"

Angeal typed in her phone. "So you guys aren't really invisible?"

Gwen nodded. "Yup. We can appear to humans anytime we want to. But I wouldn't risk letting them know our identities," Gwen added then Angeal typed in her phone again.

"So what's the deal with our master?"

"Well—"

As Gwen was about to speak, she was suddenly interrupted by Edwin, panting and speaking in between breaths.

"You guys... come down... now!"

The three of them stood up, feeling alarmed by how Edwin ordered them.

"What's wrong, dad," Arvid asked confused, then Edwin spoke after calming himself down.

"He's here. Our master."
